- I get some help in installing a used Old Man Emu lift on the 1994 Land Cruiser.

During the magnetic induction process, the high frequency AC creates an oscillating B (magnetic) field which accelerates the free electrons in the ''Fermi Sea" or conduction band of the crystalline lattice body centered cubic Fe atoms. These moving electrons prefer to circulate in the largest elliptical diameter geometrically possible on the outer skin. However significantly rusted steels have a severely reduced ability to conduct electricity or the Eddy currents created by the induction tool. I believe the ratio of resistivity between Fe and FeO3(iron oxide iii) is like 1,000,000,000,000. So a huge relative jump in electrical resistivity just because of the surface rust. I just swaped my Trans Am T-56 without a lift on the concrete floor last winter and froze. Now I have to replace a windowed Toyota Avalon block this winter haha.

This is a great video. I am glad to see someone whom isn’t experienced tackle these kinds of jobs. It helps to have someone else for sure. I have an HDJ81 and have done quite a few jobs without any help and it can be quite challenging. I bought all new Dobinsons shocks and springs and had them installed by a Toyota dealer………labor isn’t cheap! 😮 Thank you for posting, next time I will attempt it myself.
A few mistakes, but hey, that's how we learn.

You're right! I need to get it out! Because I picked it up with only a little bit of maintenance history, I want be able to rely on it to get me home and that means a little TLC and lots of money!

I put in a 2 inch lift in my hzj80..put in front extentions for the sway bar..extended brake lines..extention for the brake thingy bob that is conected on the diff.the wheels stick out by 1/2 an inch..got adjustable pan hard bars on the way..

Planning to do a 2.5" Lift Kit on my 96 series 80 LC. I'll be riding on 35x12.5 x18 with 2" wheel Spacers, do you think I'll have any rubbing in the wheel well
From the forums and all that - supposedly you'll clear. Check them on your own for sure. I don't run tires that big.

Hey great video. Wondering do you know if 96 land cruiser side runners will mount onto my 91 fj80?
Side runners, like running boards? I'd imagine so, but I'm not sure.
I noticed when I lifted the truck it became difficult to put into low gear. Guess its binding now. Did you notice the same? If so, how did you fix it adjust?
I did not notice that with this lift. How high did you lift it (what springs did you use)?
@@thelandcruiserproject I went up 4 inches with OME lift (springs and shocks). Thanks for replying. Looks like I have to spend some time under the TLC.
Driveline can bind up based on that height. Caster correction might help but you also might need to look into modified driveshafts with additional flexibility.
@@thelandcruiserproject I noticed when I have the TLC on a lift with all four tires off the ground, it shifts without any effort?
It could also just be unrelated. If you hadn't tested going into low range before the lift (and it had been a while since going into low), it's possible it's needing some maintenance to lube it and loosen it.

What size tires do you have?
These tires were 33" tires. 285/75R16

Nice job, what are the arb part numbers for the front and rear springs? How much more height did you gain over stock? Do you feel it's necessary to replace the caster correction bushings? Can you give us a link to where you bought that heating tool? Thanks.
It's been a bit too long to recall the numbers for the springs. They gave about 3-4" over stock because I didn't have any weight (bumpers, etc).
Yes, caster correction was necessary. There's a subsequent video.
And the links for the tools I used is in the video description.
How much of a lift will require new caster bushings? What would happen to the steering if you don't replace the bushings?
You should consider correcting the caster for anything more than an inch or two. If you don't correct the caster, you can have some weird steering characteristics that kind of feel like oversteer to me.

Yes.
Was this a 2 inch lift? What size tire are in the video?
Yes - 2 inch lift but without much weight in the back. Tires are 33"
Why did the shock’s previous owner want to sell them?

Where did you get the replacement bolt for the one you broke?
I purchased the replacement bolt from a local hardware store. I matched the diameter and pitch and made sure to get the JIS type so that the head matched (12mm) I think it was. If it wasn't JIS, I think it would have be a 13mm head and no one wants that.
How long have you owned the rig?
I had it for several months and regrettably sold it! I miss it.

Nope - must be a different one. I sold the 94 to a guy in Utah. The only deal with TN was when I bought the no-sunroof 100.

@@thelandcruiserproject In reference to the jack you were using, I think it was a 2.5 ton jack, gotta go with a bigger jack just to be safe. Props for those 6 ton jack stands though 👍.
I'm using the 2-ton snap on now. Working great. I'm only every using it to light half the vehicle so it's plenty. One day I'll get a bigger one ☺️
@@thelandcruiserproject ok so don't laugh, but go to harbor freight and get their jack. I had a fancy name brand one that cost me an arm and a nut and the one I got there works beautifully never an issue. It's a budget solution for us common folk, folks, folki. That land cruiser is likely my next project so I'm excited about that, never owned one. Good luck man, I'll watch some more vids when I get some free time 👍 Truck along
My 2-ton Snap-On was $50! I bought it with the intent of upselling it to get the Harbor Freight one, but it's been solid so far.
