I am honestly surprised they didn't realize that. I mean, even if that was meant to be the joke and it wasn't too obvious, or perhaps so obvious they actually didn't believe that could be the joke, I do still wonder why they didn't mention it at all. For god's sake, he is a walking fire-stick who still has human needs. It can't be more obvious!
Bloodypainless This movie has been nonsensical at every scene, you can't blame them for not catching it. The movie tries very hard to "make you turn your brain off".

Not to mention...some of the "random" stuff the Rider does (like the floating spinning thing) could easily be explained with "HELLOOOOOOOOO!!! HIS POWERS ARE HELL-BASED!!! AS IN IT'S BOUND TO DRIVE HIM BATSHIT!!!"

There's a part missing from the review that was there before. When Cage is slamming the guy against the wall there's a bit where NC says "Uh Mr Cage. None of this is in the script. You're supposed to just ask where the kid is and leave. We don't know what you're doing here but for the love of god please don't hurt anybody."

One thing you forgot to mention was how Blaze was persuaded into retrieving the kid by promising to lift the Rider curse, but he had a chance to get rid of the curse at the end of the first movie and declined because he wanted to be the Ghost Rider.

I hate the dumbing down of comic book villains . Mephistopheles not Satan or Lucifer . Mephistopheles was a powerful shapeshifter not a demon.
Uh, while I agree with you in principle, Mephistopheles is in fact a demon/possibly the devil. He's the one who makes the deal with Faust, which is where we get the phrase "a Faustian bargain".
He was later stolen for use in the Marvel comics, but saying Mephistopheles isn't the devil is like saying Thor isn't the god of thunder.
He's mostly described as the dealmaker, cause the devil would scare humans too much. So he sends a human. That's mephistopheles
There are multiple devils actually. So maybe is good they dumb it down in this one.

@@drakeware655 The only things about the design from Spirit of Vengeance that I liked was the improved CGI and the burnt looking jacket. Plus his skull looked less oversized. Everything else about his design seemed like a step down and I definitely missed the bike from the first film.

The reason Johnny's able to transform in daylight now is because the curse as been altered a bit, mostly by the boy. He can now transform anytime he sees so fit.
Too bad the movie doesn't explain that properly.
It makes me sad. This could have been one of the greatest superhero movies of all time. It was not doomed from the start, but a few bad decisions later and this is what we got.

13:14 Ok, I was sure this part went on a bit longer and I found another upload of this ep, and sure enough the "Cage at his most Cage-y-ness" scene was mostly cut out, including a funny bit telling Cage that "none of this is in the script." It's so strange watching old Nostalgia Critic episodes and find bits and pieces have been taken out. I'm guessing it was something to do with youtube and why they had to re-upload these episodes in the first place..... but it still makes me sad ;_;

the drinking from a jug thing actually made sense. If you remember in the first movie, Johnny's first transformation into the rider left him quite thirsty the next day (understandable, since the rider is basically a skeleton engulfed in hellfire). I think the jug scene is just a crossover with that.

The part where ghost rider is in the hospital is because in rider form he's super durable but not invincible and injury shows up when he's not in rider form. The water thing was present in the first movie too when the caretaker would set up a few cups of water. They were MAJORLY inconsistent on a lot of things with the story in my view, but they at least got those things consistent small as they are
Yeah but these movies definitely nerf the Rider. In the comics he has survived some insane injuries without a scratch and they never appeared on his human body.

It's not great, and at several moments very terrible, but honestly this one is better than the original, it's 30 minutes shorter, and I have to say the "look" of the rider is actually fucking amazing.
