    Normally I would be sad that the same old sounds had been reused, but having them be the JP3 ones specifically really helps to make this feel like the next form of raptor I think a lot of us were hoping to see in JW all those years ago.

      In my headcannon, it helps explain some things too: why are InGen's velociraptors so big? They have some Utah spliced into them! How do we know it's Utah? They sound the same! Is that how it'd rlly work? Likely not, but hey, it's recreated dinos we're talking about here

      I remember reading somewhere, maybe the Raptor Red intro, that when it was first discovered it was referred to as a RL "Spielberg's Raptor", referring to the oversized raptors of the then new Jurassic Park. I'm guessing these devs giving them the velociraptor cry is a cheeky little nod towards that.

    Ok, the Utahraptor not being eble to hunt the hadrosaurs is dumb. This is the only Dromaeosaur that was actually built for taking down large prey, and it’s the only one that can’t do it in this game, wonderful. Oh, but dilophosaurus can bring down hadrosaurs for some reason.

      Australovenator, Herrerasaurus, Monolophosaurus, and now Utahraptor. This is the 4th small carnivore that does not have a pack hunting instinct when it comes to hadrosaurs and other large herbivores. It just comes off as lazy to me. The only reason I can think of as to why they don't have these animations are because of technical difficulties, due to their different skeleton and size.

    I love how when they pack hunt on the goat the 2nd one kinda tilts its head to look at the goat as it gets launched.
    It's a little detail but it sells these as living animals if they react to stuff like that.
    I really wish there was an animation where if a pack member gets hit by the launched goat it kinda steps back and hisses like its saying "watch where you launch that"

  • @TrexHunter2000
    @TrexHunter2000 10 месяцев назад +6

    Having inspected the human kill, I don't think the Utahraptor cuts off the human's retreat on purpose. The way I see it, it overestimated the jump it needed to make to catch them, was about to readjust itself for the kill, only for the person to run into it accidentally. It was initially confused by this, briefly inspecting its target, before its brain catches up and says, 'prey vulnerable, attack prey now.'

  • @thewolfofcomedy5966
    @thewolfofcomedy5966 10 месяцев назад +9

    It’s a subtle detail but I like how despite being a “small” carnivore by the game’s standards, it’s footfalls sound the same as medium carnivores Baryonyx or Carnotaurus, emphasizing just how huge this animal was
    Also, while I don’t mind the fact it doesn’t pack hunt, this is probably the one “small” carnivore that should be able to single-handedly bring down hadrosaurs, since Utahraptor in real life was a big game specialisst

  • @SomeRandomGuyWhoPlaysGames

    At 11:00 when you let the Utah raptor break out you forgot to turn off the power so its only option was to break the fence. Could you test again to see if it can climb an un-powered fence?

    This is without a doubt my favorite dinosaur for the Cretaceous Predator Pack, but I must admit, it's a bit of a bummer it can't pounce and slash on hadrosaurs, armored dinosaurs, or sauropods. I admit, I can understand why it was done that way, but I think Utahraptor should have had a limit of only 1 or 2 being able to pounce on a larger dinosaur at a time for medium herbivores like Hadrosaurs and ceratopsians, while maybe up to 4 could pounce on a sauropod.

    • @Saurophaganax1931
      @Saurophaganax1931 10 месяцев назад +1

      To be honest I kind of hate the pack hunting mechanic. I hate that I can’t keep armoured dinosaurs and sauropods in the same exhibit with my raptors like I used to be able to back in the first JWE. Just the idea of a pack of raptors bringing down a sauropod or an ankylosaur is ridiculous to me and honestly kills my immersion.

    It might also be safe with Dryosaurus, the othe medium carnivores used to be safe with that one as well as the hadrosaurs… I think it’s only the Cryolophosaurus now though

      This whole thing is a myth. Search up austrolevonator or herrasaurus al hunting animations and you will find videos from 1 year ago showing them hunting dryosaurus. Also search crylophosaurus hunting and you will see it killing hadrosaurs even from 2 years ago. The behaviour never changed it’s just a lot someone made up

      @@SomeRandomGuyWhoPlaysGames sorry for believing something I’ve directly observed multiple times over the past few months, I’ve even gone into saves I’ve made over this time period and without any changes to the combat or starvation settings I am now witnessing habits that were entirely safe beforehand now resulting in animals hunting each other that weren’t doing so when I was last there. Idk if it was considered a bug and they just fixed something and I only witnessed that bug so many times because I enjoyed making multiple habitats that included a mix of carnivores and herbivores safely sharing space but I did nonetheless observe it.

    God dman it’s so GORGEOUS! Why was this so hard Jurassic World? You really dragged your feet on realistic raptors and now that it’s absolutely stolen the show.

    Utahraptor can’t pack hunt? Frontier really fumbled the bag on that one

    • @jeebus2313
      @jeebus2313 10 месяцев назад +6

      Nah. Pack hunting in dromaeosaurids, especially for a larger than typical (for a dromaeosaur, anyway) species like utahraptor is...debatable at best. Them not being able to pack hunt actually makes sense.
      Now them not being able to hunt larger animals like hadrosaurs, something they were actually built to do unlike most other dromaeosaurids...not as much sense.

    The fence was electrified of course it didn't climb it, small carnivores only climb fences when they are not powered

    idk which is more confusing Utahraptor by itself not being able to hunt large herbivores or Gigantoraptor not hunting small dinosaurs.

      I mean, as far as we currently know, there really...weren't any dromaeosaurids (raptors) bigger than that. Utahraptor was pretty much as big as they came, unless they discover something bigger which is always a possibility, but hasn't happened yet.
