Great video and well explained! Thanks for the Video, your not sowing this under Plastic, any reason for this?

Thanks for the feedback. We offer both maize in the open and maize under plastic to customers. The plastic maize would cost the grower another £180-200/ac resulting in approx a few weeks earlier harvest. It's down to personal preference. It's kind of like paying for an insurance.
Personally we grow our own maize in the open and it will do just about every bit as good.

@@jtownley90 Thanks for the Reply, you might be the best person to ask then in terms of Volume and Tons returned per Acre what is the difference and is that why it makes sence putting it under the plastics!
Also that planter looks the business, say it will do a great job

@@deadstack all depends on the year. Last year alot of maize came out around the 37-40T/Ha mark. I honestly don't think there was a vast difference between the plastic and open Maize but we didn't get to see alot of plastic maize over the weigh bridge. Majority of maize that is sold off field would be drilled in the open. If maize is valued at £50-70/t it's definitely not going to do 4T/ac more to justify the price. All is gained would be an earlier harvest date. The best maize we cut over the weigh bridge was in the open and yielded 44T/Ha.
As for quality and feed value of plastic and open Maize I couldn't comment on that as that's done on farm in the winter time.

Seen what I assume is some of your fields down the ards peninsula done like that, looks so much nicer to the eye without the plastic. Also, saw your grass outfit the last week there, very tidy 👌
