I feel that Nadia is the greatest. I was only 13 years old when the 1976 Olympics in Montreal were held. Nadia showed everyone that she was very talented. To this day I still believe that she is the greatest gymnastics has to offer. Best wishes Nadia.

She was so supple yet strong like elastic, but she had heart and grace and that whole package together was genius. She worked 24/7 for that moment in history when it all came together. Her bright smile was humble. A smile of grit and joy.
I saw her also, the whole world was cheering for her, she was the most amazing gymnast of all time, period. Never seeing any video of her after the Olympics back then, I had to judge all others based on what I saw just once. It was and still is not a tough decision, she did all her routines with ease! So fluid and natural and her enjoyment of what she was doing!

I came across her picture and name from the Encyclopedia my Mom purchased in 1997. Now that we have google and RUclips, I am thankful to have seen not only her picture but also her performances.
Perfection is dedication to the task at hand, minimal movement, practice, total concentration, a strong will power, self discipline and self belief. Nadia symbolises that. Watch each and every movement of her closely. That will be a perfect lesson to achieve perfection in any field.

Then just before the games where to start a lot of the African nations boycotted, almost everyone had doubts about these games, not to mention the questions about Security. I remember Nadia's first 10! From the TV it looked like her foot hit the floor... My mom liked Korbut. Then I saw her again, running for the vault... Her pony tail swayed back and forth... It was Nadia and she was Perfect! :) She didn't get a high score because of the step at the landing, but she WAS perfect. I remember the end too... Ludmila Tourischeva's performance on the floor was very moving, very strong. You can tell she gave it her all and I had doubts that Nadia would win. Then she was on the floor. It was happy, inspiring and beautiful performance. Then she put her hand down at the end of the piano playing... She again - was Perfect! 6:55 = "She really saved the games. She came on the first night. Made her first 10 on the first night... And all of the agony, all of the anguish... All of everybody saying this won't work... All of the African nations pulling out was just suddenly wiped out by this one little girl. No body had the foggiest idea of who she was or where'd she'd come from and she absolutely saved the Olympics!" Her communist country would not allow her to travel and be celebrated, to make the millions. She should have been seen by the world after Montreal but she was locked away.
Not every routine Nadia scored a 10 on was perfect, but as she said in a later interview, what could the judges do if she was better than someone who scored a 9.95 ? Some judges later indicated that they would have scored her 10.6 or higher if they could have, Shea's THAT much better than the others. Unparalleled execution and form, and leading edge difficulty. Amazing combination never seem before or since.

There was no one and still no one like her. I know Simone Biles kills it and is very technical. But there was a certain level of grace with Nadia no one has had really. Her body was designed for this stuff. She turned it into art.
I was 4 years old in 1976 when my family watched Nadia Comaneci in the olympics. After that my parents put my sister and I in gymnastics. Unfortunately I was horrible at it, lol. I went into ballet/dance instead. I still love watching these old clips though. Gymnastics was very balletic back then.

...please don’t forget...before Nadia was the incredible and Uber talented Olga Korbut...she paved the way fir the elegant, bold but daring gymnastics that we saw from Nadia afterward and even today...Olga was the “true” forerunner of Grace, strength , flexibility and soft power...Nadia just took her blue print to another level...so, yes Nadia is great...but let us not forget Olga and how she renovated the sport with her unmatched elegance and skill at that time...and give credit where credit is due...because maybe without Olga...there may not of been a standard of “perfection” for Nadia to surpass...😔...
Every time I see these videos touch my heart and I cry ...I'am so happy to see her and touch my heart everytime I see her.There are a lot of champions in the world but few that touch peopeles heart as Nadia did with her performance.There's something about being born in Romania hard is a normality for us and demands ard very high...Nadia was for me an inspiration in the hardest moments in my life....she was 100 times champion because she dealt with so many difficult situations that others said so hard...so had but she stayed focused.
I was 4 yrs old when this aired and I remember watching Nadia in awe. I was taking gymnastics then and I was so spellbound by all of those ladies but especially Nadia.

Why is it missing?
She is one of the most iconic and kind of a household name when it comes to gymnastics. Till now there is no one replaced her as big as her name.

There was no one and still no one like her. I know Simone Biles kills it and is very technical. But there was a certain level of grace with Nadia no one has had really. Her body was designed for this stuff. She turned it into art.

I was 4 years old in 1976 when my family watched Nadia Comaneci in the olympics. After that my parents put my sister and I in gymnastics. Unfortunately I was horrible at it, lol. I went into ballet/dance instead. I still love watching these old clips though. Gymnastics was very balletic back then.

...please don’t forget...before Nadia was the incredible and Uber talented Olga Korbut...she paved the way fir the elegant, bold but daring gymnastics that we saw from Nadia afterward and even today...Olga was the “true” forerunner of Grace, strength , flexibility and soft power...Nadia just took her blue print to another level...so, yes Nadia is great...but let us not forget Olga and how she renovated the sport with her unmatched elegance and skill at that time...and give credit where credit is due...because maybe without Olga...there may not of been a standard of “perfection” for Nadia to surpass...😔...

Every time I see these videos touch my heart and I cry ...I'am so happy to see her and touch my heart everytime I see her.There are a lot of champions in the world but few that touch peopeles heart as Nadia did with her performance.There's something about being born in Romania hard is a normality for us and demands ard very high...Nadia was for me an inspiration in the hardest moments in my life....she was 100 times champion because she dealt with so many difficult situations that others said so hard...so had but she stayed focused.
I remember watching her on TV when I was a young kid.
