Dreamed of owning one as a kid, obsessed seeing them drive by while driving in a clunker, searched them on facebook market place, dealer websites, or equivalent website and having to virtually drive nothing but a WRX in games. Now as an adult I am a proud owner of one. Christ it was a journey, great car and tons of fun.
That is me currently, I've always dreamed of owning one. At the end of June I finally completed my childhood dream of getting myself a Subaru WRX and it was worth the wait!

I suggest you get 04-05 blob eye wrx sti, 300 hp stock, and by far it is probably the most hardcore car subaru has come up with

I have a modded 08 I spent about 9k in mods including internal components and left the stock look and it is a V8 smasher at about 350+ hp it also kills off the line and sounds amazing
@@zeropm92 nice, I spent around 29k on my 04 with no regrets, EJ20 swapped it and it now makes around 504HP, going to install a Cosworth dry sump oil system and a twin turbo kit soon

My neighbor has a hawk eye wrx and he rb26 swapt it, it's all wheel drive, manual and has 700hp. He thinks he made it reliable but if you ask me that's a sin.

I’m on my third Subaru and my second wrx ... started with a 98 obs then got a bugeye wagon wrx and now have and love my 2015 WRX .. im hooked .
I had a 2004 wrx wagon. Sold it when my son was born... miss the car and will return to the wrx soon.😂

I've always been a loyal Chevy girl. But after my 11' MaliBoo had to have 2 transmissions due to wave plate shattering and still under 100k; Im exhausted at how they have turned. My daughter had a BA 16' WRX I enjoyed cruising in and fell in love. She found a 12' Impreza Sedan all stock 52k clean title at her lot and I bought it that day sight unseen. Im now a Subi loyalist. About 6 more payments and may motivate to the wrx, but my Impreza 2.0i all stock crazy as it seems has taken a dozen expensive mod ricers. Man Im so glad I bought Medusa.
They are fantastic cars! I've owned a couple and my moms been driving an old Forester for like a zillion years now and it runs like new.

The gc8 sti you've shown was a 22b which is a limited edition version and a valuable one, but if you search for a normal gc8 sti you can find for around 20k-30k.....even with this prices it is a masterpiece

I have the last of the rear wheel drive 125 msport BMWs and I will be considering a new 2022 WRX. Just purchased the new outback and which just was released in Australia, what a beautiful vehicle. Can’t get anything on the market that compares to the outback for 50k AU’s. Subaru’s are extremely good vehicles, very excited to see what’s to come! Great video and would like to see one on the STI please!
When i see a rally styled 1st gen impreza. It always reminds me of Collin McCrae and Tommy Makinen's rivalry in WRC in the 90's, same with Michael vs Mika in F1. Exciting moments for me, when i was a kid.
The hawkeye WRX got the EJ255 not EJ225. There were some other mistakes in this video but it was ok to watch.

I got a 2011 WRX stock and hope is not modified before because I'm the 5th owner lol so far I have not found anything modified. Only have it for 2k miles so far and I love it!
I have a 02 bug eye and I love it, very planted and handles so well, lots of grip and the turbo pulls you out the corners

I live in the city, I just bought a new 2021 WRX with a CVT, I love it. No manual shifts faster than this.. but having a manual transmission is way more fun, unless there is a lot of traffic or trying to drive while holding something else.

The "Well Grown Up" Subaru Impreza WRX is kind of not that bad. I personally like the Hawkeye ('06-'07) and the 22B STI or the 2.5 R.s Coupe. If I own one of those cars, I would literally want to widebody it 'cause why not?😂😎

Hawkeye would be my favorite but I bought a '19 STI brand new that came with the type RA's engine without the limited edition price tag so I'm glad I waited and didn't buy one of my dealers 2 type RAs.
I couldn't be happier with that 19 STI though its so fun in the winter, so well rounded overall, and it came with 3 pedals so you actually have to operate the transmission. Whats not to love?

I think you mean there are 3 variations of the 2nd gen WRX: the Bug Eye, Blob Eye and the Hawk eye...you mentioned the 1st gen already earlier in you video.
It’ll be great to see a video about the limited edition STi’s like the 22B and the good-bye gen S-series S201, S202, S203...all the way up to S209.

Technically yes in 2014 the recent changes to the WRX/ STi took place, but it was the 2015 year model which was produced in late 2014.

I think the true sleeper is the legacys line-up until the 4th generation, in the states you get the spec B, something as close as STI is gonna get but much tamer, WRX young car guy while the legacy is for old car guy, they should bring back the Spec B trim for the current gen legacy XT, and the STI wagon Levorg
WRX type-ra STi and the type-r STi.
Both are very simular but have different attributes.
The type-ra is a raw drivers car as opposed to the very desirable type-r which has more comfort options.

I actualy bought 1 month ago in Portugal the 1st model Impreza, mean eye (gc8), only 94k km (yes km, not miles) although not a WRX, but and Impreza GT AWD, with the engine EJ20, all completely stock which is rare to see for 24.500€, being 26 years and their price going up in value, modifying Its almost a "crime" 😅, anyway, love It, and dont wanna sell it for anything for sure haha.....btw great vid, and ty for the info and curiosities! 😁
The model you've shown is the 22B the rarest of them all... AS for the best 04 to 07 are the best looking ones! Yeah, the mechanical of the new ones are better, they look like shit imo!
So as a person who fell in love with subarus when they where little I have a little knowdlage on subarus. Stateside subarus are not that great especially the 02-07 ones. The the big eye wasn’t bad bc the EJ205. But the EJ255 and the 257 are not even close to as good as the 207. 255 and 257 suffer from oil starvation, ringland failures way to often. Also no one knows how to take care of a boxer engine at all

Do you remember me from the video about the cars from many countries that are prototypes like the Polish car the russian car and so on
I'll get shit for this, but... I have a 2015 Imprezza Limited w/CVT (split gate & paddle shifters) and it is fun when I put it into "manual" mode and use the steering wheel paddle shifters. It isn't as fast as WRX/STI, but I still have fun with it. The 2.0l engine has a lot of pep to it for a non-rally type car. So I like my Subaru. And yes, if I could have afforded the WRX or STI I would have done it. But my spouse can't drive a stick, so... But she drives our 2009 Outback Premium wagon (2.5l engine), and I have fun it as well. Basically the Boxer engine is a lot of fun to rev up and rip around with.
