- Following recent In Conversations with Andy Black and Claudio Sanchez, Enter Shikari vocalist Rou Reynolds is the latest musician to join Kerrang! on the sofa for an in-depth chat.
But we’re not just here to talk about music, Kerrang! Editor Sam Coare and Rou talk about the creative process and the inspiration behind his new book Dear Future Historians (Lyrics and Exegesis of Rou Reynolds for the music of Enter Shikari 2006 - 2019).
Hosted in Kerrang!’s London office, we invited a bunch of hardcore Enter Shikari fans along to watch Rou discuss his most embarrassing lyrics, the difficulties he’s faced as a writer, the power of music and much more.

Enter Shikari constantly hopping through the gap in the fence. Underground style on one side, pop style on the other.
Meeting Rou one time would be the best day of my life. This guy and the rest of the Band are pure geniuses
Very relatable chap/ lyrics. Gods bless the honest.
16:50-18:29 Rou encouraging the open exchange of ideas is something that people NEED to adopt when having discourse, even with those we disagree with.
Thank you Rou 🙏🙏
I will definitely buy this book and I can exactly relate to the feeling of wanting to know what someone meant by writing the lyrics!
Why is someone complaining about the shirt he is wearing during the interview??
First anyone can wear anything they want to and second it could mean everything, even a statement against homophobia....all these nice rainbow colours😁. Ok, no its not rainbow colours, but he probably had a felling or thought while putting it on..Maybe he simply likes it.. . But this probably won't be part of the book😂
... Freedom, tolerance, acceptance...he is so honest here, I just love ES!!
Fun fact, there's actually only 2 songs over 5 minutes on The Mindsweep.
Awesome interview. I am INFP on the Myers Briggs as well. I can understand how his mind works. He is so talented. Only 4% of the
population is INFP. They are known as "healers" of the world's problems. Introverted-value time alone, intuitive, feeling, perceptive. Source-MBTI Manual
Ginger Ella Be careful there. The Myers-Briggs inventory, despite its popularity in the business world, has consistently shown poor reliability(different results for same people) and validity(measuring what it’s supposed to). In fact, the only studies that consistently say it works are published in journals that are owned MBTI. It’s been characterized as a pseudoscience, which makes it kind of upsetting that Rou believes it. Look into peer-reviewed research on the subject and you’ll see what I mean.
I assumed he’d be an ENFP but he does have a massive inner life so INFP makes sense.
@@nathangarza2962 Thank you for shining a light on this, because I see so many people mention it on their twitter or instagram bios and I just don't get it?
Wonder if he spoke to Rob Swire about MBTI when they collaborated on a Pendulum remix, Rob said on twitter that he's INTJ but believes more in Big Five than MBTI
I love how he includes myers bridge, that has been so insightfull for me as well

I literally came here in order to rewatch that moment and spent ages looking for it, then found it, *then* found this comment xD I'm sure I'll end up here again though, so thanks :P
I actually rate that line, stand by your words Rou!
There's literally only one song on The Mindsweep that's under 5 mins :')
Over*?
they'll get it right on the sixth one
19:55 I FUCKING KNEW ROU LIKED THE 1975
Creat plz Russia sub !
Russia sub plz
Is he wearing an Architects t-shirt? I mean I LOVE Architects but why not wear a normal t-shirt or an Enter Shikari one if you are interviewing our precious Rou (๑• ₃ -๑)
But other than that, THIS INTERVIEW IS AMAZING (๑♡ᴗ♡๑)
Because he's supporting a band that he and Kerrang! as a music editorial love. Enter Shikari also adore Architects. Rou and Sam are both buddies i believe. Its a whole lotta show mutual love and respect
@@matthewocallaghan3062 I know, I love both bands and I have seen both live, but still
