THe LoLClass call was probably something in the lines of "Hey give us the 3rd best Jungler in NA to do a Ekko guide for us. What he is booked ? Ok than just get us Santorin
+Jerry Reyes Build runeglaive (purple smite) into zhonya's. There is a trick with ekko where you zhonyas, then ult. This baits people into standing near your clone, making the massive aoe damage easier to land. Also, if you mash r while zhonyas is about to end, it's hard to interrupt his ult, and you get a very long frame of invulnerability (zhonyas is 3 sec, ult is 1ish second)bor Devourer bortk is more for xin, yi, and jax. If you want an AP devourer, pick kayle and go devourer into nashors (bortk isn't that great on kayle since she has really good ap utility scaling). Devourer in general is bad for carrying games where the enemy is stomping and taking every dragon and counterjungling you. Runeglaive/warrior/cinderhulk are safer bets that keep you relevant even when behind. On the other hand, in a low kill game where the only gold income is from farming, then devourer is good because you can get sated by the time you have devourer+bortk.
higharcangle thanks for your response! hmm but would runeglaive allow me to clear camps easily? I already think he takes a lot of damage with devourer.
GamerABC I was asking because it seems like utility is not that important to carry bronze games. if they cant follow up then it is hard if you dont do a lot of damage. I could be wrong though
Jerry Reyes Ekko has high base damage, making a tank build strong until very late in the game, where the enemy adc can just lifesteal off of you (in which case most tanks/bruisers suck without thornmail). Runeglaive dramatically increases ekko's clear speed, clearing small wolves and raptors with one q+auto. It also allows ekko to spam mana during clears and save blue buff for the midlaner. Devourer+bortk isn't that great on ekko for several reasons: 1. His 3 hit passive has a cooldown of 3 seconds on a champion, meaning building attack speed doesn't really change his passive dps (e auto followed by immediate q then auto already applies the passive in less than half a second) 2. It leaves ekko in a weak jungle clearing state while he just has devourer and no bortk. (no lifesteal, hp, or fast burst on camps = bad clears) 3. It doesn't make ekko tankier or do more burst damage for ganks. Ekko can be built tank or ap based off of team comps and how the game is going. If you get fed early and can buy an early sheen before getting purple smite, by all means do so. If you're having an awful early game, (as in, you get invaded level 2, then fail a gank and you back with very little gold) then because tank items have a very high gold efficiency, go the cinderhulk route. Also consider how many damage threats you have on your team. If all lanes are winning, the best thing to do is get sightstone and ward for your lanes so that the enemy jungler can't help his team. One of the most important parts in deciding whether to go tank or ap can be the enemy damage sources. In general, against burst, build tank. Against sustained damage, build burst. The worst idea is to stack hp against a fed vayne or kogmaw. Also, just because you went tank or ap doesn't mean you can't change your build according to how your game is going. If you built cinderhulk but feel like you need more damage, buy liandries- it has good base damage on its passive and has good cost efficiency due to the recent ap item updates. If you built runeglaive but keep getting blown up in teamfights, get abyssal or zhonyas.
Sure you can build it but i feel like ekko already has enough cc with his w, blue smite, and randuins. its by no means a bad item on ekko though if you're really having a hard time landing his w but honestly if you arent landing bubbles then you just need some more practice with that
+Matthias De saeger It's decent on lane ekko against heavy-ad teams. It's mostly good for the cdr, mana, and armor with an early sheen effect rather than the slow, because you can already instantly slow somebody by e->auto->point blank q.
The bubble Ekko bubble guide was bubbltastic.
Bubble is love.
Bubble is life.
I think the most important part of playing ekko is to hit the bubble
+German-Bear nah, you crazy man. didn't you see the video?
Guide abridged: Bubble's ekko is important
I think there's more to it than that, you can still gank successfully without the bubble.
