I have a suggestion for a SUPER CHEAP hospital/quarantine tank. I use a clear storage bin (64 quarts), that I bought for $5.00 as my hospital/quarantine tank. I took a permanent marker and drew a line at the 10-gallon mark; since most medications give directions for 10-gallons, so I only had to measure it out once. When I'm finished, everything gets a good scrub, and the equipment (heater and sponge filter) get placed right in the bin and it all goes in a closet. For the sponge filter + heater + the bin ... I spent $21.00. Having this tank actually paid for itself AND saves us money. We have a 40 gallon aquarium. When you have to use one packet of medication per every 10 gallons ... each day of treatment in the big tank would cost me 4 packets. In the smaller bin, it's only one.
Do you keep the filter off the full 48 hours? Also, from standard aquarium rules that seems like a lot of fish for a ten gallon. But it looks great. How would I do this?
Hey, quick question. My gold fish had black strings hanging, i put them both in a .75 gallon tank with treated with salt, api general cure. Its the 3rd day. Do u recommend feeding them? Or not? I noticed they keep producing long black strings. Also after following all instructions on api general cure. On the 4th day How do i tell if my fish are clean/ cured?
I just treated my fish with fungus cause the fish store guy gave the wrong packet cause i bought loose packets so can i use this general cure after the green water changes to white to treat worm cause my fish has sunken belly actually my fish store guy gave the wrong medication
there are a couple of internal parasites that general cure won't kill, namely camallanus (red worms coming out of anus) and capillaria (white poop, wasting away). the metronidazole in gc might be effective against hexamita.
@@TropicalFishGuy really I was hoping it would help with ich but if it works for the gill and skin fluke I might get it to see if it stops my platies from rubbing on my plants
@@stephanieangelos6413 Yes, cuz it can absorb chemicals present in water. Also, I have tried using this API powder it doesnt kill BB and is safe for fishes
Hi! I just treated my two 10s . When you do the water changes do you have to take out all the ornaments and vacuum all the gravel, or just change the water and re add charcoal filter media?

Tried to tell my spouse this idea but he insists the plastic will spontaneously bust.
You made it so simple , thank you.
My kind of tank with guppies, neon tetras, julii corys, and otocinclus. I medicate new fish in groups like this too.
Thanks so much. Really appreciate it!
Is it necessary to routinely deworm if you dont feed live or frozen foods?
No it is not. I do it once in quarantine and only if I see any symptoms afterwards. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Does the general cure actually kill tapeworms and other general parasites or just expel them from the intestines?

So if i have a 5 gallon tank.. i only use half of the packet?
Yes.
Is that a betta fish in your tank? What size are tanks? So can this be used as a preventative if I’ve had a fish die?
Can you give your fish General Cure even if they don't show symptoms to prevent parsaite infections?
Absolutely
Thanks

you should follow up with a second treatment, it doesnt kill the eggs.
Cool tanks.

Should the filter be running at all?
As long as there is no chemical filtration such as carbon, I leave the filter running for sure. Take out carbon.
Would this work if my swordtails are passing white poop?
General cure works.
Good video.
Is this harmful to shrimp and snails?
Fritz Paracleanse is. Youd have to research Fritz Expel-P though.
Interesting video.
Thanks!
1 pack is how many grams?

Does general cure work for ich and gill fluke
Not for ich. But it does treat gill flukes.

@@pinwheelgamer3338 you can use it with ich x
@@TropicalFishGuy ok thanks for your help
Will it kill the beneficial bacteria??
This medication does not affect beneficial bacteria.
You remove the cartridge filter ONLY if it contains carbon correct?

👍
No need to tell people what fish did you have, just straight to the point... Time waste watching till you get to the point
👏👏👏
