When I was younger my job meant I had to fly around the country often. I had so many terrible experiences on planes attempting to land at this airport in high winds and foul weather that I will no longer fly anywhere.
Just a point to note - New Zealand does not have a 'federal' government has New Zealand does not operate a 'federal' system of governance, as the country in not divided into states unlike Australia. New Zealand is governed under a 'central' government known as the New Zealand government.
hi, local kiwi, um, yea new zealand dosent have a federal government, New Zealand is a unitary state rather than a federation-local government has only the powers conferred upon it by the national Parliament.
Thanks mate! Yeah I realised through discussion after I posted the video that I didn’t quite have the details right on that one! I’ve corrected it for my most recent video on Air New Zealand!

As with all tax payer funded projects it's a given that the economic benefit is half what it will really be. But even then, the question that never seems to get answered is WHO will benefit.
Wellington airport has been a political football for decades. It's outrageous that in the 21 century this short runway still can't accept the large jets which have to use Auckland or Christchurch. Yes they have landed large jets but only as a proof of concept purpose.
