Lab Muffin Beauty Science I got retinol a few days ago and honestly I was hoping you would put out a video like this one, so I would know exactly what to do. Lucky me, I can start today. Thank you so much for the info, you explained everything in a very clear and easy to understand way :D
Hello! 🙂 I recently started using the Drunk Elephant A-Passioni. I use the recommended pea size amount once a week and will bump it up to twice a week, as the irritation doesn’t seem too bad (some flaking, mostly on the nose and a bit on lower cheeks). There was a tiny bit of stinging sensation but that didn’t last for more than several minutes. Do you have a video on niacinamide or hydroxyethyl urea? I started using Good Molecules niacinamide serum at night, when it’s not a retinol night, and have been using vitamin C serum in the mornings. I wonder if it’s okay to use the Hado Labo Gokujyun Premium lotion in any part of my regimen, or if I need to swap it out with one of those ingredients.
Hi Michelle, have you done research on Retin A Micro (tretinoin microspheres)? I opted for this alcohol-free gel formulation (using for both acne and anti-aging) because I was always told that the isopropyl myristrate in the tretinoin cream clogs pores and causes breakouts. Retin A Micro is also known for causing far less irritation and it is a LOT more expensive. I have extremely sensitive skin and started this at 0.5% and went up to the 0.1% which I have now been on for about 3 years. I've never had irritation/dryness/peeling and now I apply about 2 pea-sized amounts nightly on moisturized skin and moisturize again about 15-20 minutes later. Nobody talks about this microspheres formulation of tretinoin. I asked my dermatologist if it has anti-aging properties as well as treating acne, and she says it does. Have you come across research about this microspheres formulation? Can you talk about it in a blog post or video? PS. You can apply tretinoin on your broken capillaries and it does actually help it fade/heal. (My dermatologist told me to try it on a keloid surgical scar that was treated with steroid injection which had resulted in a much worse, larger area of broken capillaries. The tretinoin did work; it took about 6 months to a year, but at least I didn't have to do la$er treatment$$$.) Thank you, Julie
Week 1 - short contact 30min every 3 days Week 2 - oil underneath 1/4 pea sized every 2 days Week 3 & 4 dry bare skin 1/4 pea sized every 3 days Final 1/4 pea every 3 days
After watching countless videos, reading countless articles and seeing a dermatologist, I bought Tretinoin 0.05% cream online (it was almost 50% cheaper than pharmacy lol) and used a pea-size amount on the first night. The following day, no reaction, so I was feeling brave, and even if most people said use it once a week, then twice the second week, etc., I used it the second night again. Next day, no problem again. Used it again a third night. Following day, kept waiting for my face to "fall off" (accng to Caroline Hirons), but nothing. I've been using Tretinoin since February, my blackheads have halved, my hyperpigmentation have greatly faded, and I haven't had any breakouts. What a fucking miracle ingredient.

Dear Ms. Michelle: After trying tretinoin again and again(and stopping after my face looked like the Walking Dead) I came across your retinoid video. FINALLY someone who has given me proper advice - your Short Contact Therapy gradually working up to once every 3 days worked like a charm! SUBSCRIBED! Of course it left me wondering WHY couldn't my dermatologists have given me this same sage advice?! Were they worried I would end up with great skin and turn my blemish-free back on them?! You are my hero:)

I always do it at my dermatologist's office. Zillion reasons: expertise, proper professional device, after skin regiment, etc. Never ever have I had inflamed skin after those procedures. My skin is instantly glowing due to, as I mentioned, proper order of steps, cooling masks and other soothing ingredients instantly penetrating the skin providing it with hydrating and nourishing vitamin cocktails.
This was very helpful, thank you! I currently use Differin, on week 6. I use a pea size amount mixed with la Roche Posay Cicaplast, on moisturized skin, half hour post moisturizer. I found this is excellent for me. I haven’t had any irritation at all. My first 3 weeks, I used only once a week. The following three, twice a week, just started three times a week with the same strategy. I still can’t seem to tolerate vitamin C though. I’ve never been able to. I do use niacinamide, panthenol, HA and other soothing ingredients though. I’ve had some mild purging come up about two days after a treatment that quickly heals and fades, and it’s not pustular, just little white heads. Eventually I’ll probably just mix the adapalene with my moisturizer or apply to bare skin, but I’ll work up to that! I’m going low and slow, in no rush.
Hiii, hope you see my reply. I was wondering what results with Adapeline did you notice? I'm starting with it mainly because of red/brown acne scars and small wrinkles? :)
@@lullabygoodbye25 hey, I know you're asking op,but I had used adaplene for a year and a half before ,and it pretty much cleared all my acne with pretty much no irritation or dryness
THANK YOU! I just started on Tretinoin today and I got barely any information from my doctor or pharmacist on how to use it, other than to use it at night. You've made this really simple and clear for me, which I greatly appreciate!
I tried Retin A when I was younger, applied nightly, within a week or so I was so flakey and peeling that I threw the tube in the trash. A few years later I started using Alpha Skincare glycolic acid products, 12 and then 14%. These products really work well, they are formulated at the right PH for the actives to be effective. I think 10 years or so of using glycolic acid made it easy to transition to Tretinoin. I use 0.5% nightly with no irritation. I do apply a very thin layer of a light moisturizer first, though.
I have combination to oily, acne-prone dehydrated skin. My dermat prescribed retin A microsphere 0.04% and he told me to apply a thin layer every night. What he didn't tell me was the before and after care. My skin was purging and flaked like the desert. I learnt how not to irritate my skin in baby steps, I use it every third night mixed with a moisturizer or pure Aloe vera gel. Now my skin loves it. I have been using it since November last year.
I’m on my 6th week of Differin and it’s been suspiciously easy! Nothing crazy, experienced a bit of dryness and a few zits that might as well be just due to my hormones 🤷🏻♀️ my face is smooth as a baby’s bum! Will definitely go to see my derm for tretinoin, thanks for the video!
I used differin for years without much success. I never noticed a difference using it. It didn’t help much with my acne and it didn’t make my skin peel or anything. I went to see a dermatologist and they prescribed me a stronger one and I saw a difference within the first week. Made my skin peel a lot at first but I’ve learned how and when to use it and it’s been a game changer with the smoothness and texture of my skin.
Not particularly related to this video but I love for you to do a video on scalp care for a bald girl and skincare for my chemical related sensitive skin. As I have been on chemotherapy for four years now and notice how much it’s change my skin and as well I just recently lost all my hair and a little lost on how I should be caring my scalp or what extra things I should be doing to help with my scalp care. If you could do this, it would be very appreciated. Thank you 🖤
Great video! 😊 I started Adapalene 0.1% a month ago, using it daily. I actually didn't have any irritation, only a little bit of sensitivity the first week. I even continued using AHAs & BHAs in the morning with no problems at all. I now decided to transition to Tretinoin every 3-4 days to adress textural-hyperpigmentation issues, so I this is very helpful!
Im in my 20’s . I’ve been using a retinol for about a year. My first retinol was the ordinary’s 0.5% retinol in squalane. At first I used it every other day. Then I used it everyday. Now I am using urban skin Rx’s retinol serum daily.
Hello mam , I have used a OTC retinol and have seen amazing results without any irritation . But I couldn't find any info abt the product stability and formulation. So can I continue using it (or) not.
Thank you so much! I’m about to introduce retinol into my routine and I use a humectant serum both morning and evening. It never occurred to me to take a break from it on the nights I use the retinol. Thank you !!!
These are some really great tips, thank you! I just started adapalene 0.1% about a week ago, and so far I haven't experienced anything too bad. My skin has been purging but they're all really small comedones and pretty small whiteheads with only a few big blemishes which is how I can tell that it's not a normal breakout. I've been buffering the adapalene gel by putting a layer of The Inkey List's Ceramide Night Treatment on my skin first and then spreading the adapalene over it, waiting a minute, and then putting a thick layer of the Klair's Freshly Juiced Vitamin E mask. I find this combination has helped to prevent dryness and peeling in spite of my dry skin because I use a lot of humectants, plus products with ceramides and vitamin E.
Ive used 4 bottles of The Ordinarys Granactive Retinoid Emulsion, didnt notice anything from using it. So eventually i thought, screw it, and went straight for Paulas Choice 1% Retinol treatment. Woo boy, i notice it now xD But its manageable. At night i cleanse, follow up with Paulas Choice enriched calming toner (this makes SUCH a difference, flakyness disapears when putting this on, its amazing for dry skin). Then i use a rich moisturizer with a few drops of Paulas Choice Niacinamide booster. I let that sink in and then i use the retinol treatment. I use it every other day for 3 weeks now and so far so good. Havent dared start acids again, ill give that a go next week.
I just purchased Differin gel today, but after watching lots of videos I’m thinking I may just skip it and jump right into Tret. Differin works on different receptors, so I’d likely go through 2 purges - 1 for each medication. I plan to use these for wrinkles and hyperpigmentation rather than acne, which I have nearly none (expect for some blackheads and sebaceous filaments on my nose).
I started using Skinmedica .25 retinol about 6 weeks ago. I was using it 2x/week with absolutely no peeling or side effects. I'm currently increasing it to every other night now. Will go up to .50 once I finish this bottle.
The hardest part for me is the amount I’m applying. Even with a full pea sized amount and dotting it around my face, I feel like it immediately soaks in and I’m not able to evenly spread it around my whole face. I’ll try layering oil underneath tonight to see how effective it is
I'm Black and retinol doesn't irritate me but it also doesn't work quickly compared to paler friends. I wonder if the thicker, darker skin plays a role?
something really weird that happens to me is the fact that ONLY the cerave moisturizer burns my skin when I'm consistently using tretinoin, while all other products don't burn or sting at all...
Omg now i know why i had a red face this time after adapalene ..i used a hyaluronic acid toner right before..so it was wet and made my skin more permeaable...thank youuu! Now i know to avoid that
My dermatologist gave me the .025% tretinoin after using the ordinary granactive retinoid and so far so good just diluting it with my CeraVe lotion heavily every night to stick as close to what I was doing before as possible. Once my skin stops lightly purging I'm going to start going with the undiluted tretinoin cream 2-3 times a week as advised then up to every day as recommended for my issues and concentration prescribed. My skin is very sensitive and finicky so this is quite promising as my skin seems to really like the retinoid any way it comes so far, as long as it's fragrance free.
Thank you for that video! When I first time tried retinol, I got massive irritation and my skin started peeling. At first I thought it was from new cream, not retinol. Then I understood, that it was actually a retinol and I thought it was an allergic reaction and I stopped using it. Now I know how to use it and gonna give it a second try.
I've found Adapalene (Differin) gave me great results with minimal irritation. I did build up usage from once a week to every other day. I'm a little bummed that I'll have to start over since I stopped using it due to pregnancy. Better safe than sorry though.
@@AllTheArtsy I've never used niacinamide on its own. It's in my moisturizer though. I have kept up on my hado labo hyaluronic acid serum. Pregnancy has made my skin much drier than it used to be.
I used Adapalene for almost two years without problems, but suddenly reacted with eczema last winter, and that flares up whenever I apply it again. Right now I am on a granactive retinoid every second day, to slowly build up the tolerance of my skin, so far without irritation *touch wood*
I used tretinion 0.025% for the first time day before yesterday. Was considering whether to use today and you uploaded today just in time to advise me. 😻 I didn't get any severe side effects after my first application other than slight purging. I'm feeling bold.
That yellow looks great on you it really makes your skin glow. Thanks for the video! I don't think I want to start tretinoin for another few years but I always heard bad things about it. Now I know its probably because they used retinoids at a higher concentration than they should have.
Wish I had seen this a month ago lol I went through quite a bit of purging and a few days of feeling like it was burning my skin. Now I love it and I wont go without it.
I just subscribed to your channel. I think you have a deep understanding of this molecule. if you could kindly answer these questions: 1. Assuming I don't care about irritation or peeling. But I do care 100% about the absorption and effectiveness. Does applying while skin is wet or damp will actually increased absorption? I thought it was the opposite as the skin is water phobic. 2. How long do you think that the molecule takes to be 100% absorbed into the skin? I can't put it at night because silicone patches to avoid crevasses (side sleeper) so this is very important detail for me. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks
As always, luve the video. ❤️ I went all in from day one. 0,5% tretinoin every evening. OMG how the peeling and purging went!!! I looked insane! 🤣 Extremely dry and flaky, basically looked like my face was trying to escape my face! And super sensitised. Took me about 1 month to get over it. Now after 1 year my skin is quite amazing. Not as dry and dehydrated before I started tretinoin. My routine was cleansing, vit-c serum, mix of niacinamide & peptides & HA, moisturiser. And then tretinoin after 1 hour. Now I put tretinoin before moisturiser and on not completely dry skin. It actually works better for my skin than on completely dry. But the first period was horrible! Big boys DO cry. Hehe
ccap3211 Yeah, after the skin was adapted I experience no issues. Not even on damp skin. Buuuut I don’t put it directly on damp skin often. (I’ve been using lactic & glycolic for about 20 years and retinol for about 10 years, so my skin is quite adapted to those actives.)
Khadija Kenya I have melasma. My forehead looks like someone sat on my face and shat. And quite a lot sun damages. And why not use something potent at the 1/10 of the price as something 1000 times less potent?
Great video. I'd also recommend putting moisturiser on first and then the retinoid on top of that to help lessen irritation. Dr Sam Bunting has a good series on how to get started, she's even done a few demo videos.
I use a gentle cleanser always, but at night I use my Ordinary glycolic toner, along with their 2% retinoid, I follow that with a facial oil, or sometimes combine the retinoid and oil together. Changed my skin permanently, so rare I get spots anymore - I used to get several whiteheads every week. And if I do get a spot, it never fully "emerges" and the redness goes quickly. Started using my retinoid without any dryness or irritation, and haven't had to use physical exfoliants since!
Another awesome video! But I'm still confused by all the "rules" surrounding retinol use so could you please tell me would it be best if I just consulted a dermatologist first to get my skin assessed and get them to recommend a targeted retinol and skin care products? Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! I appreciate your devotion to educating the public. I just introduced a etinol and am dealing with the dry, flaky, red, and stingy/itchy skin. I thought I had my bases covered and was introducing correctly. Because of your video, I know now what I did wrong: my face was damp when applying. Ugh. Thank you again for the information!
I’ve bought Differin and am a little afraid to start using it, so thank you for this video. Does it matter if you have active breakouts while using or what the cause of the breakouts are?
I think I made all the same mistakes when I started using retinol product, and eventually had to stop due to irritation. Now I'm thinking about giving it another try ))
I recently started using the granactive retinoid 2% emulsion by the ordinary. In their list of retinoids, that particular one was one of the least irritating formulas, while having moderate strength. Nothing much has happened yet, I use it 2-3 times a week, my skin feels less oily in the morning, but my blackheads haven't disappeared yet. Are retinoids even comparable to retin-a and tretinoin in terms of all the benefits you mentioned in the video? I thought I was being smart starting on something with low irritation risk, but now I'm wondering if I'll even see any meaningful results because it's not "real" retinol.
In terms of efficacy, is there a noticeable difference between tretinoin and adapalene? My pores are still fairly large after using Differing OTC for a couple of years, and I was wondering if switching to tretinoin may help with that? Acne has pretty much diminished for the most part.
I used tretinoin cream as spot treatment the first time, but because I had just exfolieted before it made my skin so sensitive and I stopped using it. I'm gonna start again but slowly. Wish me luck.
I’ve been using differen gel for about 4 years back when it was only available as a prescription. It has done wonders for my acne, but even now I have to be diligent about keeping my skin moisturized. Some extra dry days in winter, I won’t use it every day to avoid irritation and dryness. I also have to be diligent about sun protection.
I'm thinking of getting on a retinoid. I used adapalene gel when I was a teen for a little bit of acne and it was amazing. Took it away completely! I just want something now to even out my forehead tone to the rest of my face.
I used 0.025 Tretinoin for a year, every 2/3 days on top of moisturizer and diluted with moisturizer and while the purging stage passed the irritation never went away. My pores got more enlarged and certain areas of my face were constantly red. Unfortunately my cheeks have the texture of orange peel now. I think tretinoin is too harsh for sensitive skin and in my case did more harm than good, even though I did everything to minimize irritation. I've seen on internet forums that there are quite many others who had a similar experience.
Dear Michelle, so Vitamin A/Retinol works by speeding up cell turnover rate. Doesn't this mean in theory, it makes you age faster in the long-run as a hasten cell turnover rate means we are reaching the Hayflick limit faster?? Would really appreciate if you can touch on this. Articles online say that skin cells are made from stem cells which do not have a Hayflick limit. It just seems oversimplistic of an answer and I am not fully convinced. Please do shed some light on this if you do read this. Much appreciated
Really insightful stuff!!! However, how would one be able to tell if their toner/moisturiser is a humectant one that might make their skin more permeable like you found in the video? Thank you!!!!
Since I use retinoids for acne, I've always stayed away from oils. I usually use a water base serum or moisturiser and let it dry and then after 30mins or so go in with retinoid. I think Ill try your method with an oil first and moisturiser later! What oils do you think are best for acne prone skin? I've heard squalane is safe.
What is your opinion of Neutrogena’s Rapid Wrinkle Repair Regenerating Cream? Is it effective? I recently started using it and hope it was a good purchase in the long run.
I would like your advice about whether I can use tretenoin even if I have not used any of the forms of retinoid before.I am 27 years old with combination skin type. Btw thank you for these informative videos 🤗
I just found this video...so Adapalene works well for lines and wrinkles? Does Retinol work better? (I can't get Tretinoin). Just hope someone could help me confirm. I've heard that Adapalene hasn't been well researched as Tretinoin. It's marketed mainly as treatment for acne and not for anti-aging. I'm just getting confused with different information.
Thank you for the video! I've heard Retinol can also be helpful for atopic skin. I'm looking into starting, more for anti-aging effects however I was worried about irritation in severely atopic skin. Any tips or interesting studies?
Thank you so much for this! I just started tretinoin a few days ago, following the instructions religiously, and then the peeling started. I'm not used to that since I have combination-oily skin. I'm definitely going to try the trick of applying oil first and basically do your week 2 routine since I don't think I'm so sensitive that I need to do short-contact. Again, thank you!!!!!!!!!
ANSWER NEEDED I read an article a while back about how retinoid won't do much for Asian skins because when Asian skins ages, it actually become saggy but won't have much winkle. Will retinoid help with sagging skin or just for winkle?
Great vid :) I've just started using a VitA serum for the first time and opted for Sunday Riley A+. It's been game changing, really really effective and minimal side effects, which quickly stopped after the first two weeks anyway. I'm starting off with beauty serum retinol first, then will move on to a tretinoin gel, low dose, after summer ends.
Great video! I have a similar experience with differin. It manages my acne but after using it daily for half a year with only basic cleanser and moisturisers to accompany it, I‘ve found I still needed an AHA to manage my skin texture. I now alternate between differin and AHA every night and find this to leave me with pretty good results. I also agree on humectant toners not being as beneficial as I thought they‘d be, I now use pyunkang yul essence toner and I find it meets my hydrations needs well enough while being non-irritating and soothing. Lastly, I‘ve found anything with panthenol in it to be a great addition to my routine to sooth irritation.
Is it still effective after the expiration date? If kept in fridge? Specifically tretinoin. Can you speak to what’s happening with retinol receptors during retinization? 😘💓
How much time you need after applying tretinoin to apply moisturizer? Is there any ingredient in other skin care products that could denature the tretinoin?
I started on The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane then and now I use Geek&Gorgeous A10 Retinaldehyde 0.1% . I got worse side effects from Retinol . When my Retinal runs out I have Differin Adapalene Gel 0.1% .
Do you use retinoids? Which one is your favourite?

I learnt how not to irritate my skin in baby steps, I use it every third night mixed with a moisturizer or pure Aloe vera gel. Now my skin loves it. I have been using it since November last year.
Will you please consider reviewing red light and infared therapy??? Please!
Yess!!!
Yes, please do that!
YES PLEASE on the red and the other colors infared therapy,
Yeah is it a scam??
NASA invented right light therapy and light therapy is used on newly birthed preeemies. There is lots of science.
Thank you 🖤
Thanks for this info! My doc started me on tretinoin and i had given up putting it on mt face because my reaction was so harsh!
Saving this for when I start vitamin a in my skincare. Thank you for the info and help :)
I'm so thankfull for your blog!
It's nice to have a fast watching video, but a transcript really really ups the game for me!!
Glad it was helpful!
Hey I know this was 3 years ago but how did this end up going for you?
I started using Skinmedica .25 retinol about 6 weeks ago. I was using it 2x/week with absolutely no peeling or side effects. I'm currently increasing it to every other night now. Will go up to .50 once I finish this bottle.
The hardest part for me is the amount I’m applying. Even with a full pea sized amount and dotting it around my face, I feel like it immediately soaks in and I’m not able to evenly spread it around my whole face. I’ll try layering oil underneath tonight to see how effective it is
You can also try mixing it with a moisturiser on the back of your hand before dotting 😊
Please do a video about everything about vitamin c and its effectiveness as skincare or is just gimmick.
It certainly isn't a gimmick. L-ascorbic acid is very powerful.
I never watch any of these videos, but I love yours! Its so informative, to the point and very helpful! Thank you 🥰
Thank you for that video!
Did you keep up using niacinamide tho? You should have, if you didn't. That usually makes it so you don't have to re-introduce retinoids anymore.
Right now I am on a granactive retinoid every second day, to slowly build up the tolerance of my skin, so far without irritation *touch wood*
i immediately used my tret 0.025% daily and lucky me, i didn't experienced any irritation, peeling, nor dryness
i just purged tho.
I used tretinion 0.025% for the first time day before yesterday. Was considering whether to use today and you uploaded today just in time to advise me. 😻
I didn't get any severe side effects after my first application other than slight purging. I'm feeling bold.
Hi Sohana Haider, ¡Good for you!, be patient and careful, use sunscreen SPF 30 at least and hats when go out 😊
Sohana Haider that’s a pretty mild dose. Just use it every 3 days to start.
That yellow looks great on you it really makes your skin glow.
Thanks for the video! I don't think I want to start tretinoin for another few years but I always heard bad things about it. Now I know its probably because they used retinoids at a higher concentration than they should have.
I had no idea the irritation could be delayed!! It all makes sense now!!!
Wish I had seen this a month ago lol I went through quite a bit of purging and a few days of feeling like it was burning my skin. Now I love it and I wont go without it.
P.S. I use ROC retinol cream and eye cream.
Thank you for this video ive been wanting to start on adapalene but its so intimidating
I just subscribed to your channel. I think you have a deep understanding of this molecule. if you could kindly answer these questions:
Thanks
May you please make a video how sunscreen could possibly can reverse photo aging?
I am suffering from terrible irritation and peeling. Great tips, I didn’t even consider my humectant toner
Thank you for the advice! I've been thinking about switching to differin from retinol
This video was soooo helpful! I'm starting retinoids for the first time and you answered so many questions that I had. Subscribed :)
Do we need to put moisturiser before tretinoin or after that ?
As always, luve the video. ❤️
I went all in from day one. 0,5% tretinoin every evening. OMG how the peeling and purging went!!!
I looked insane! 🤣
Extremely dry and flaky, basically looked like my face was trying to escape my face!
Hehe
You use the retinol every night? I have a .1% tazarotene foam and I only use it every 3 or 4 days because it makes me peel really bad!
ccap3211 Yeah, after the skin was adapted I experience no issues. Not even on damp skin. Buuuut I don’t put it directly on damp skin often. (I’ve been using lactic & glycolic for about 20 years and retinol for about 10 years, so my skin is quite adapted to those actives.)
Why would use medication daily just for beauty if you don't have acne? Make it make sense
Khadija Kenya I have melasma. My forehead looks like someone sat on my face and shat. And quite a lot sun damages. And why not use something potent at the 1/10 of the price as something 1000 times less potent?
Hey Michelle! I have a question do I have to limit my Retinol/ tretinoin use during the summer or can I carry on normally?
Thank you.
So when are we going to stop using it ? Like after i see really good results am i supposed to stop it or just continue for rest of my life
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! I appreciate your devotion to educating the public. I just introduced a etinol and am dealing with the dry, flaky, red, and stingy/itchy skin. I thought I had my bases covered and was introducing correctly. Because of your video, I know now what I did wrong: my face was damp when applying. Ugh. Thank you again for the information!
this video popped up in my feed right after i put on the retinoid i was prescribed, and i haven't used it in weeks 😭
I’ve bought Differin and am a little afraid to start using it, so thank you for this video. Does it matter if you have active breakouts while using or what the cause of the breakouts are?
What’s the difference between Retin-A and Retin-A micro and which is better for aging?
At what age can retinol be used? and what products can be used at the beginning? I am 25 years old, my skin is prone to acne and sensitive .
Can you please do a video on derma rolling , the pros and cons. Thank you very much.
Hi Michelle!
Would you recommend retinoids for fungal acne prone skin?
I really appreciate the detailed example routine you provided! Another informative and super helpful video from you, thank you 😊
Hi. Please make a video on skin care for over 50s.
In terms of efficacy, is there a noticeable difference between tretinoin and adapalene? My pores are still fairly large after using Differing OTC for a couple of years, and I was wondering if switching to tretinoin may help with that? Acne has pretty much diminished for the most part.
Ur makeup and skin looks amazing in this video❤️
Thank you so much! ❤️
Wow ! Never heard of the short term contact technique... thank u !
Retin-A is like $200/each in states. Lucky you!
I used tretinoin cream as spot treatment the first time, but because I had just exfolieted before it made my skin so sensitive and I stopped using it.
I'm gonna start again but slowly.
Wish me luck.
I just started Differin a week ago. No adverse effects 😀😀😀
Many youtubers have given so much wrong information about Retinoids in the past. I have to ask : Does adapalene treat wrinkles?
I’ve been using differen gel for about 4 years back when it was only available as a prescription. It has done wonders for my acne, but even now I have to be diligent about keeping my skin moisturized. Some extra dry days in winter, I won’t use it every day to avoid irritation and dryness. I also have to be diligent about sun protection.
Really? It didn’t do anything for me. I had to go get a stronger prescription.
Thank you!!!!
thanks for this video about retinoids! i have tried them recently but your tips will help me improve their place in my regimen
I’m so glad I found you 🥺❤️
I would like your advice about whether I can use tretenoin even if I have not used any of the forms of retinoid before.I am 27 years old with combination skin type.
Can you do a video about rules for layering sunscreen????
On my second week of tretinoin and got no problem even applied a humectant toner. I only use it every 2nd day.
Every time I try a retinol my joints and knees hurt. Can you talk about why that is?
I know tretinoin builds collagen, but I've heard it also protects existing collagen from photo-degradation. Is there any truth to this?
ANSWER NEEDED
I read an article a while back about how retinoid won't do much for Asian skins because when Asian skins ages, it actually become saggy but won't have much winkle. Will retinoid help with sagging skin or just for winkle?
Can i use both BHA and retinal? Not the same day, but alternating each day?
I've been needing a video addressing this! Thank you 😊
How much time you need after applying tretinoin to apply moisturizer? Is there any ingredient in other skin care products that could denature the tretinoin?
I started on The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane then and now I use Geek&Gorgeous A10 Retinaldehyde 0.1% . I got worse side effects from Retinol . When my Retinal runs out I have Differin Adapalene Gel 0.1% .
Yeah. I have rosacea and I am afraid of using it. My skin is hypersensitive. What do you suggest for people with rosacea???
