They’ll probably call it Apple Bot, doubt they’ll call it iRobot since the name alrdy exists in the market. And with all these lawsuits apple is handling and the billions of dollars wasted on an apple car, i doubt they will want to shed cash out just to get a name.

I imagine this iRobot is going to cost around the same price as a top end SUV, but will have very rudimentary features that will cost tens of thousands more just so you can upgrade for a nominal amount of ram or to a language you actually speak. And yes, it will be outdated before you get the upgrade because a new one will come out before then.

Bipedal movements are hard to implement and take a lot of energy and computation, they also make the robot larger, but it can go on stairs. A robot on wheels with hands is simpler but it cannot go on stairs.
okay, but if it clears the table, washes the dishes, and puts them away after.... and also does my laundry and cooks like a personal chef... I think it might be worth it.
I definitely think if they’re going to do this, they should go for a more simplistic facial design. Right now I don’t think hyper realistic robot faces have quite made it out of the uncanny valley, but if they go for a simplistic two dots and a smiley face kind of style, I think it could be really cute. Humans love things that are cute!
I’ve been with Amazon as an employee for half a decade and a customer for 2-3 times longer and I’m still on the waitlist for Astro despite signing up within a minute of it becoming available. I feel like I have more of a chance of winning the powerball than owning a robot 🤷♂️
It’s worth noting that Apple doesn’t currently have any products with moving parts. This is meaningful I think in that moving parts adds so much complexity, fragility, cost, etc. Robotics would be a major gamble given that fact.
I think the margins on a robot with a screen, if they make it affordable enough to reach the scale of profits they're used to, might not be enough to justify risking the cut to profits on the other multiple Apple devices with screens people already have in their homes - and keep replacing. Right now it doesn't seem like we're trained to think of buying a robot and replacing it with a new one every one, two, three years.
idk if they'd have one to follow you around the house.. but more like a AI system that can track motion, facial/ body expressions/movements, listen and respond through AI in order to help you navigate through your daily routines, reminders and requests without having a physical being getting in your way.... and if you have Apple Glasses on it could generate AR content to interact with. Like imagine being able to navigate your living room like you can on Vision Pro but way more natural. If you have other people in the home they can also see the same lay outs so it's like a shared virtual living space.... Watch movies, video games, art on the walls, chores that need to be done, etc...

Robots will eventually take over many jobs. This could lead to a situation where people don't have enough money to buy goods and services. Without customers, companies wouldn't have business, which wouldn't be good for anyone.
A robot for a home that is human-sized could be intimidating to most people and scary at night! And the cost? a simpler styled and smaller home errand-helping AI robot might work better for most people.
They need to fix Siri first...otherwise this robot will be quite stupid and useless. And it should come with more than 8gb of RAM...or else it will also be slow. 😏😖
A robot that does all your chores, I would spend a lot of money on that. I’m talking about a robot that cooks, cleans, does your laundry etc. ugh i fantasize about it so much
HomePod on wheels with roller skates sounds about right. My assertion here is Apple is working on Robots that moves with two legs and has two arms under Project Titan, and my biggest bet they might give us a glimpse or video montage to beat Nvidia’s latest versions or work with Nvidia o make custom chips for the robots.

Just think how far Apple might be if the ditched the car years ago and went all in on robots and AI. Now they are slightly behind the race and better look at buying a majority stake in a robotics company and also Anthropic if that is even possible after Google and Amazon have already invested heavily in them. You can bet almost everyone will have an AI robot in 10 years, just like people said I was nuts when I said almost everyone will have a mobile phone in 10 years, that was before the iPhone. Seems crazy right now, but you can see a time when a small personal robot with wheels or a ball will cost the same as an iPhone, larger fully bipedal robots will cost about the same as a car, could be as low as 10k for lower end models. I see a time when some will choose to buy a robot over a car if they have to choose. You can imagine a time when you can ask your AI robot to go shopping and it will get in your car and go to the store for you.
