I hope New Zealand acknowledges and recognises just how much of an asset this painter is to his country. He is a plein air artist of world calibre, a master of landscape atmosphere and light, second to none.
Such a joy to see John in action. Love his work !
New Zealand so insanely beautiful and so are the paintings of the masters.
Love John's work. Pleasure to watch.
You are one of the best artists I like. I wish many artists may come to see your instructions. THANKS..
What a master painter, such beautiful work with such feeling.
Gorgeous and as a new painter, the idea of the less thick paint application technique is so helpful as muddy problems still persist. Scenery is incredible and you are a great teacher
Mis respetos para el maestro Crump. Espectacular.

Good water. The big rock is a problem… don’t paint something just because it’s there. Use your imagination which is where true art resides.
Don’t paint on white canvas. Paint on primed Masonite. Red is the best under color. Don’t use ultramarine blue. Use Pthalo and Prussian blues.
He is a good painter.
Also primed and sanded birch plywood. Our local lumber store will size, cut and sand edges for free when you buy a big, whole sheet of plywood
