    Bravo! Enjoyed watching this video. Most instructive, how he starts with line, then masses in with monochromatic color, mostly umber, maybe with a little burnt sienna or ochre, then gradually introduces local color, then gradually refines the shapes, the details, the highlights, and deepens the darks, adjusting the variations within the shadows. He obviously has a good eye for color and values. I lost count how many times he steps back to assess his painting, which is a reminder of what I need to do - step back often to properly assess the overall painting.

    Такой формат хорошо в несколько сеансов писать. В один сложновато.

    Un pittore veramente notevole. Un bellissimo lavoro. Peccato però che la ripresa venga effettuata a troppa distanza dal quadro che il maestro sta dipingendo e non si possa vedere niente della sua tecnica, e cioè di come impasta e posa i colori sulla tela. Comunque, complimenti.

    • @kaleidoscope8743
      @kaleidoscope8743 Год назад

      It depends on the media and technique you wish to apply. In acrylics and oils you can start by laying down darks /shades first. Then apply colors and tints. But you notice that he reserved large swathes of white spaces for the sky and light reflected on the water. If your spaces are well above the mid-tones, you'll avoid placing darks there. This "darks-first" technique doesn't apply to watercolors.

    • @kaleidoscope8743

      And clearly he is excellent at painting 'en plien-air' (or in open air). In itself a feat of magnificence!
