I was able to get my equipment back including my alternator after my GF totaled it. Bought the same car again with a higher trim and it worked out.

This is exactly why I HATE insurance companies!!!!! You paid them every month for a service and then when you need to use it they allow you to use it to a point. They're gonna win on your truck in the end. When my Malibu was totaled I took my sweet time and yanked every piece of audio equipment from the car and told them if my time was too much then refund me for all of the years of payment!
