    I've carried an G43 everyday for 2 years in pocket holsters. Using Speer Gold Dot 124 +p with no problems. Taran +2 extensions. Love this carry package which I didn't think could be beat. I held a Hellcat today for the very first time since they are always out of stock.
    I have to say, I will be putting the G43 in the safe and buying 2 Hellcats. Buying 2 because I am amazed at the product. And the name is awesome. Guy let me put it in my pockets and no difference in how it fits compared to the G43. I've always been a Glock guy, since they first came out, and competed in plate matches with them. Springfield 1911's I have and love. But their XD series just never could change me over. This Hellcat has turned me over now.

      Well evidently Springfield sent out lots of these guns to RUclips gun channels they thought would have a lot of exposure. So that means they were ok with a lot of different opinions from different shooters. I don't see that being a bad thing for the gun community. So far, after seeing a dozen different videos on this gun, many start with a semi-negative opinion before they shoot it....then they shoot it. It performs well and some still try to find something wrong but really cannot. I think this is helpful to all of us.

He changed his POA to the right shoulder and he started hitting close to center mass. He sent it back to the factory, they sent him a new one and the sights was dead on center mass. I bought an XD45 Tactical when they first came out and don't have any significant complaints. Not claiming it's the best that ever was, but I like it. Don't have the money to buy many guns, so that's my only modern handgun. I did the same "what ammo will it choke on test" and even included some 1918 and 1943 dated .45 ACP. It digested all of it. I'm out of the loop: are we giving them a pass on the Illinois Firearms Manufacturers Association supported gun control? It sort of looks like they did the right things, at least - depending on which way you want to spin it - when they "found out" after they were "called out" about it. And, they proactively dropped Dick's, so that's at least in their favor. Anything else I am unaware of in their history, or the history of their BoD or CEO or whatever?

    I got rid of my XDM 3.8 Compact because of the grip safety issues, but I always liked the size. It was like a slightly bigger Glock 26 that could take a weapon light. After moving to a Glock 19 I’ve found that for edc I’d like something a little bit smaller. The Glock 43’s capacity is unacceptable in my opinion and the 43x is the same size as the 19 in the grip length (aka where it matters) and is (in my opinion) stupid as hell as a result. The P365 to ME is perfect except for the issues with the Gen 1 firing pin breakage. It also has a LITTLE higher bore axis than Glocks which I don’t like as much. In my mind, the perfect carry gun would be a Glock 43 slide on a P365 (or similarly sized) frame. Glock needs to do a 10rd stack and a half sub-compact. In my mind, the 43 and 43x are not competitive with the P365.

  • @shoot4fun302
    @shoot4fun302 4 года назад +1

    It looks to me like it has a lot of muzzle flip, something that Springfield XD's suffer from due to the high bore axis. I'd like to see it shot side by side with the P365 to see if it is similar.

    Karl said that Springfield Armory provided the pistol "free of charge", that implies it's Inrangetv's to keep, rather than a review example that will have to be returned to the manufacturer. Is that really the case?

    2:30 I've got a P365 and played with the Hellcat in LGS. Since the Hellcat flush mag holds one more round than the P365, you'd think the mag would be a little longer and thus, the grip would be a little longer and easier to get three fingers on the grip. But that's not the case. I can get all three fingers on the gun (about 1/4 of my pinky is below the grip) with my P365 flush 10-rounder, and my pinky never slipped off when firing; but I can only get two fingers on the grip with Hellcat's flush 11-rounder. Don't know how the designer managed to do that :)

  • @drmaudio

    I got a Sig 365 just late enough to be past all the early updates. It has been my daily carry since. With a thousand and a half or so rounds through it and no malfunctions, I'm happy with the Sig, but competition is always a good thing and I'm curious about this one. One thing that has bothered me so far is Springfield pushing the rail "standard." The reason other companies (Ruger, Glock S&W, etc.) don't have rails on their micro compact guns is that most standard accessories won't fit. Even if their rail is 1913 dimensions, you are still going to be limited to accessories made for the gun. Having said that, I would still call that an improvement, just 10% improvement and 90% marketing.

    You say you have no idea what to do with the frangible ammo, but itd be really interesting to see what "less likely to overpenetrate" means in the real world. Will it go through thin steel? Will it penetrate through drywall? Shooting some frangible rounds next to their vanilla counterparts through a bunch of common surfaces would be a cool experiment.

    The pinky extension on the 11 rounder gives a very good full grip, but also prints pretty much just as bad as the 13 rounder.
    The only reason I carry the 11 rounder in the gun is because I seat the 13 rounder better and would imagine a failed reload to be more likely than needing 13 instead of 11 on my first mag.
