I love that song, it's one of my favorite Diana Ross songs. When I listen to this song it gives me a lot of energy and encourages me to do sports, in this video I see Diana Ross as a fitness girl.😍😍😍😍😍😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️💪💪😍😍
...love how Diana kicks off that drumroll with her BOOTY! (0:17) ...ha-HAA!! ...you have to have a LOT of confidence to be a Diva making a Video in exercise BATHING SUITS!
I sing this song whenever somebody stretches the truth or whatever somebody tries to gather evidence that is meaningless or makes no sense to this day. I do that.
Just heard this on the TV show Physical and the song came flooding back into my memory. I was 11 when this came out. Didn’t remember that Diana Ross sang this but I do remember this song for sure! 😂😂
i can tell u one thing, ma'am, i just djed this tune last week, on an EXCELLENT sound system in front of around 250 people in a medium sized club. all i can say is the power of this song really humbled me. obviously the crowd adored it, but as the dj i heard things in this song i had never heard before like the subtle but powerful vibrato in the back-up harmonzing vocals...it blew my mind and i have heard this tune a billion times. So, when u have this tune played out for your 50th, make sure you go bankrupt paying for a premium audiophile sound system. it will break you. as it played, i was getting misty-eyed. yes, i happen to love disco as well, but after hearing it on really good club speakers i think this was DRs zen moment even considering what she did during her time with the supremes. this song is otherworldly even among disco tunes. the bassline also earth-shattering, but that voice.
@@sonquatsch8585 Diana sung this song with stern tones within her mature soulful voice. She just had to express emotion & intensity addressing her lyrics. She usually sings in a serene soulful manner. Yes the lyrics are insightful & realistic how people can react to your motivation & accomplishments to look good. Just be that Go Getter. This is my favourite song from Diana I can strongly relate to. I think this tune is underrated or I can't remember being a major hit back in the day. I am kind of young.😉
@@MastersGraduate2023 i think it was, someone in the string tho wrote that it was something like number 44 on the pop charts and then reached the top 20 as far as disco and dance in the year it was released....which i think is unimaginable because if i had never heard this song before and someone played it id have thought it was one of those songs that stayed number 1 for endless weeks on all charts. it's just an insane tune. the harmonics get me. i just couldn't, some random guy approached me and gave me a fist bump and said that's real music. it was killing the floor, as it does. :D
it's so deep. i just wanna say that. that groove and her voice in this, it is SO SO deep, and soulful. as u said. i played this out in a club a week ago. the sound system was so exceptional that i had heard things in the song i had never heard before, and i got a bit teary eyed. this tune hits WAY harder that you get on mere YT

a very ordinary dance pop music with some stupid lyrics on the top. And a video clip with Diana show casing what she best can: being alone in the centre of the universe showing herself sexy and glamorous
The cheese factor is off the charts, and cancels out any calories worked off. D Ross had quite an ego back in the day. I wonder how she's doing these days.
@@GER-sm3ghit was the 80s. Everything was cheese, and we loved it. I’m glad she had a big ego. Women aren’t supposed to be like that, but she gave that the middle finger
Disgusting.! I had a friend with a thyroid disorder this caused her a lot of weight gain . There’s a part in the lyrics says “ everybody gonna hate you “ . I just wonder how she would feel listening to this .
I think the lyrics discriminates against people and in my opinion just influences prejudice against people coz of their size . Fat people exist and are a community in their own right, the most beautiful thing about people is that we are all different heights , ages , sizes , personalities etc all different cultures. Maybe people are fat coz of a condition or their genetic make up . There’s all sorts of reasons. And I think that’s ok
I'm fat because I have an incurable genetic condition called Lipedema, which doesn't respond to exercise or low cal diets. BUT, I'm not offended by this song. I love it! And don't forget exercise is good for our hearts, regardless of our size. :)
I really think this song should have been banned as some of lyrics are so cruel and discriminatory against fat people. Especially theirs a part in the song saying “ everybody gonna hate you “. What makes a world beautiful and interesting is we are all different shapes and sizes , as well as backgrounds, talents , personality etc . It would be sad and boring if everyone looked like a mannequin in a shop window . I can’t imagine how a fat person who is fat coz of a condition or genetic reasons would feel listening to such a song . I think this song and Diana Ross singing it is disgusting. Disagree with me if you want to but it’s how I strongly and I mean strongly feel.
I disagree strongly, The song is about working hard to taking care of yourself and looking good/sexy at any size. I have seen big girls who are husky and athletic and look and feel good about themselves. The "everybody's gonna hate you" line is great its those are jealous and envious.
Censoring music because it disturbs you makes the world a much more ugly place than anything you claim. There's nothing cruel and discriminatory about striving to better yourself. Fat people aren't even mentioned in the song. You're drawing conclusions to what's already on your consciousness. You're free to sit on your rear and eat twinkies all day if that's what you wanna do. Don't expect the rest of us to follow.
@@GER-sm3gh I think its great to inspire people towards fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Absolutely. But not to condemn someone for being overweight as that is not positive encouragement. This song is over 40 years old and still sounds as fresh and as funky as f@@k!! I love you, Ms Ross ❤
Cool and clever song. From the time that working out like this was a hot item. With Jane Fonda, for instance.. This tracks' got an awesome groove.
