It has been my privilege to spend an hour and twenty minutes listening to two wise men discussing a litany of very real life lessons learned through personal experience. In just a few months I will have spent three quarters of a century on this planet and you can count me as impressed. It is a rare occurrence to learn so much from a single podcast. Thanks to both of you gentlemen!
Looks like a very promising series of interviews-so far, 10/10! I really appreciate how the interview with TJ feels distinct from the one with Ben. Just a small nitpick, since you’re both facing to the right side of the screen, it kind of feels like TJ is talking away from you. Not a huge deal, but it’s something I kept noticing.
@ I assume that most of the people wouldn’t care or notice, but I felt it was worth mentioning since the content is amazing. It’s so great to see you making content again, Zac thank you for the fantastic work! I’m more than halfway through, and I already feel like I need to save the rest for another day 😂
I love the interviews you’ve been doing. Having interesting guests is only have of it. You have to have the right person asking all the right questions which you’ve done quite awesomely I might add! I can’t wait for more!
Like most people. The 1st knife I ever owned my Grandpa gave me was a Swiss. I still have it. But, now I carry my T4 Leatherman. Wonderful videos! I’m surprised it doesn’t have more likes. Great video.
Wow. Another fantastic episode. It's refreshing because we all know the guys in the knife industry are smart, but there's a TON of wisdom in them, too. Keep it coming, Zac!
“My Price point, the way I make knives; makes me accountable to the customer.” Love that, I love TJ’s design work and fabrication, but that statement sums up the route for makers to bring good design into the mainstream, a rising tide, floats all boats 💥 Exvellent easy conversation with one of the greats, keep it up Zac…..
Love your content Zac! Just a tip from a video editor: if you flip the video so you face eachother it gets more natural and easier to follow the flow of the video. Much love from Sweden!
I used to love my Overland. Now, I REALLY love my Overland. Really interesting to learn more about TJ other than just the guy who sole me a knife. Very cool
Schwartz overland sport is a awesome knife. I have about 100 edc fixed blades and some that cost way more than what I paid for the sport, but I still put the sport on my belt everyday before I leave the house for the last 2 years since the day it arrived in the mail.
I just wanted to say that I love my Lost Trail 5 so much man, thank you so much for bringing this into creation. I hold this thing in a variety of grips purely for the dopamine sometimes - I feel like no matter how many logs/kindling/feathersticks this thing goes through, it still feels like it could Phil Swift a boat.
TJ is such a cool guy! It’s interesting to see the dichotomy of him loving the Morakniv as the minimum viable product for what a good fixed blade should be and how much the average Joe argues about every little detail online. Simplify and add sharpness.
The similarities that you are unearthing are really interesting. The questions that you curated are fun and I like how you are actually listening to your guest. It makes for a better listening trip for the viewer.
The back stories and getting a glimpse on how your guests and your minds work is the best form of entertainment. Thank you for keeping on creating great vids
2 cool dudes in the same room. I got knives you both designed. Now it makes sense. I get why these knives are the way they are. ✌🏻 Thanks 🙏 Thanks for making cool stuff!
This series is amazing and so intriguing to me! This is the anthropology of knives. Having an anthropology degree gives me a different way of viewing this and enjoying it! Could we get an epic round table of all the guest at the end of the year? Also there is a guy that was on the show alone. He won the season he was on. He killed a bull moose with his knife. Now he has a fixed blade with case. Roland Welker
Doing one of these videos with L.T. Wright and or TC Barnett would be cool as hell , but whoever you get to talk to, it will be great. thanks for being you!
Great interview Zac, thanks for all you do. The camera switching doesn’t bother me and the yeah yeah yeahs is no big deal, I know I have my own things I say a lot , it’s just you being yourself.
I’ve been subscribed since you first started the channel when you still at blade HQ and you don’t do that very often. You’re just a normal person and that’s why I’ve always liked your content. Keep it up.
@@zacinthewild It would be interesting to hear from designers of different categories of knives (bushcraft, tactical, fishing/hunting, camping. etc.) and people that have pushed the knife industry a big step forward in some way. What was also interesting in the watch community was hearing about what watches different professionals owned and why - maybe possible for knives as well.

I would love titanium or micarta scales for it.. but any version...is a awesome multi tool...

Personally I disagree with the whole getting rid of the parcel hook on the Swiss army knife. I worked with pressure washers for a whole and the parcel hook was the only tool capable of removing and replacing those small O-Rings in the hoses. So personally I had a lot of utility for it. Also love the videos keep em coming!
Ohhhh dude you should do a leatherman video! Plant tour, pocket checks with workers and interview Tim Leatherman himself! That would be sweet! BTW great video!!
The parcel hook is great for a few inconspicuous reasons, moving items that was wrapped in yarn or wire, getting tight hair bands off your kids without pulling hair. Bundling fire wood with wire.
Zack, this is Todd from lazy 3 leather company. I've noticed that this episode contains a lot of talk about leather.Just wanted to offer an invite to come to southern utah and possibly do a shop video if you like of our leather shop. P.S. We make two or three products for Ben Peterson at KNAFS.

Moras are great..i have several..... but unless your talking about the garberg.... the over land is full tang and actual g10 and cpm metals... where's a moras aren't.. but like you said..different spectrums
My old man cut himself twice in about 5 seconds with my umnumzaan checked to see if it was sharp and cut the side of his finger then shut the knife and got the other side of his finger somehow he was on medication that softened his skin he is the one who taught me how to sharpen knives. About 6 months later I dropped my cold steel recon 1 into my leg tip went in and the weight pulled it back out was a mild inconvenience

And being ACTUALLY hungry.. in the backcountry.....especially if your working hard..improving/ building a shelter attempting to catch food...fire.... trying to stay injury free is tough when you haven't eaten.. with each passing hour it continues to get worse!!
