- We spent 72 hours in Milwaukee seeing, eating, and drinking everything this great city has to offer. My Milwaukee travel vlog will show you things to do in Milwaukee including the Historic Third Ward Milwaukee, the best hotels in Milwaukee, the Brewhouse Inn and Suites, and the Milwaukee City Market. In all, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted by Milwaukee....so we'll be back!

I have lived in Milwaukee for over 15 years! The city gets a bad rep because of the crime but it is truly beautiful here and extremely family friendly! The summers are amazing; tons of festivals, farmers markets and other outdoor activities. Happy to see folks out enjoying the city of Milwaukee! I’ll have to check out the rooftop bar when I’m not pregnant. My partner would love that !

I was born and raised in Milwaukee, but now I am in L.A. I love Milwaukee in the summer time, and I come back quite a bit because of all the things you can do and the weather. Yes there are a Million things to do in L.A. but the summers are way too hot and there are a ton of people here. Work has me here, but really thinking about after I retire splitting my time between the two.
I was born and raised up here in Milwaukee, I'm trying to started my own online business so I can leave here forever. In my personal opinion it's nothing here for me.
Yea u right, but dont be surprised if u go one block to the next will be like night and day. Literally crossing the street can have u in bad neighborhoods. I lived in the heart of Southside Milwaukee and every year got worse. I live in a great neighborhood now but it's smaller then my other place and had to get rid of 80% of our stuff to adjust to a smaller living space. It's well worth it. My kids played outside more in month here, then 6 yrs at our Southside home. And I'm not exaggerating, not even a little.
I have lived in Milwaukee my whole life and it's fun to see others enjoy our city. I'm so happy you had a good time.
I'm Milwaukee born and raised. Though I lived in the South for 10 years and travelled much of the country. Google decided I would want to watch your tour and it was right! It will be interesting to see what all you had time to discover! We truly are a gastronomic and activity destination!
The Public Market is a great place! And a fun early evening as well as you can sit at Thief's Wine Bar and get any kind of food to eat you can imagine there. And the West Allis Cheese Shop has some of the best cheeses from around the world including International award winners from Wisconsin! The owner is an acquaintance and his Lutz Bloody Mary mix is incredible!
The Iron Horse is a few blocks from the Harley Davidson museum and event space and you missed it? And that hotel is known internationally by Harley riders as the place to stay here. They have free under ground parking for all bikes! And yes "The Patio" there is an incredible outdoor space. My cousin managed it for years.
That looks like the South Shore Farmers Market. We have dozens of them in every little community. The largest and oldest in West Allis (western suburb with the cheese shop's main store) is over 150 years old.
The Kimpton Journeyman Hotel (another specialty hotel) roof top is a blast! And great views. And caught many other sights so recognizable! Like the frites cone! Like from a Café Hollander? And since you wound up at the Stone Creek on Downer, likely the one close to it? I was actually there for breakfast and beans 3 days ago. Had one of those egg/ sausage sandwiches in fact. Purple Door makes the most unusual and incredible ice creams! That's Walker's Point area and you did not get pictures of the Allen-Bradley Clock Tower? The largest 4 face clock in the world? Bigger than Big Ben!
You pretty much stayed along the eastern areas of Milwaukee. Except the drive to Ikea. And as they did not take you there, they might not have visited "The Domes" yet themselves? Or I guarantee they would have included it in your visit. 3 geodesic glass domes each with a different environment from arid desert to tropical rain forest. Again the only thing like it in the world. Next visit make sure to see it!
This city really is a jewel once you get to know it! And thanks for your great video helping to show it! I hope you enjoy many more here.
Any recommendations for a family friendly hotel by the city market?
@@lisamiddlecamp-lowderphd9149 Family friendly has not been in my requirements for a while. And not sure what ages? Or how travelled they are? Kimpton Journeyman Hotel if you are looking for upscale and unique. Have to mention The Iron Horse Hotel, Harley riders fav and a real experience. I hate to recommend places I have no experience with. Mine would be more with the bars and restaurants.
But Cambria Hotel Milwaukee Downtown seems the lowest priced, is very close to the Market and 3rd Ward activities. Not sure when you are coming? The Westin Milwaukee is highly rated.
With kids, in the Market area, depending on their ages, make sure to see the Betty Brinn Children's museum for the younger and Discovery World for the older. And if you get a change and any are into garden fairy art, the Domes are unique in the world. They have a fairy garden show going in one of the Domes.

I cannot think of Milwaukee without thinking of LAVERNE AND SHIRLY. I loved that show! I hope it was a great time.
Never thought Milwaukee would look like that!!...beautiful buildings and delicious looking food!! Looks like the City has done some great development and planning of their city. Safe travels home!!
Milwaukee was so clean and inviting. The city has done a wonderful job of making it welcoming with flowers on every single corner and lightpost. There was no litter on the streets and the buildings were well taken care of. Everyone was stylish too. I was sooo impressed!
@@WELCOMETOMYCURLS One of my biggest shocks when I first moved south from Milwaukee was being used to streets that were kept cleaned to the extent of trucks with water spraying sweepers keeping the streets almost spotless. And then seeing the abandoned cars and garbage all over back streets in Atlanta! And all the many public parks with swimming pools, bike paths, .... here with almost none there.
Ofc certain areas of Milwaukee aren’t as spotless as Downtown, but we sure have come a long way.

I live in northern IL, and I'll take Milwaukee over Chicago any day. Don't get me wrong -- I love Chicago, but Milwaukee is much more manageable, if you know what I mean. I recognized all the places you visited. You crammed in a lot of activity in only 72 hours! And yes, a public market would be GREAT in downtown Paducah!
Did you go Shotz Brewery where Laverne & Shirley worked? Lol. 🙃
Wisconsin native living in beautiful vibrant Milwaukee!! There are so many things to do all over town everyday! We have beautiful hotels , restaurants, live music, beautiful art museums etc. Just like any town in our country, some areas get bad press. Life is what you make it. Maybe I'll see you around town next time you visit!
I've lived in Milwaukee for more than 30 years and I've never been to some of those places. Thanks for sharing your trip to our city. ❤️ Also, Purple Door is the best ice cream in Milwaukee, but next time you should try frozen Custard. (Kopps or Leon's)

I find it so fascinating that most of the people commenting on this video that call Wisconsin home would never step foot in Milwaukee. You wouldn't believe some of the horrible things they say about those of us that live here.

I lived in Milwaukee up until 1980. I remember that brewery well. Haven't been back since 2006 after my Mom passed.
Lakefront Brewery was the place to be! The beer tour was very interesting....and of course eating on the lake was great too
Next time you visit Milwaukee, try Leon's ice cream on s27th and Oklahoma, they've been in business for many years!
I lived in Milwaukee for 12 years. I moved there for grad school with the image of LaVerne and Shirley (old tv show) - old manufacturing town. I was so pleasantly surprised at how much it has to offer. I'm also a big Wisconsin sports fan so having the Brewers and Bucks in town was amazing. Thanks for sharing your trip there. I left a piece of my heart there too - my son. He absolutely loves it!
How lovely, so glad you guys enjoyed our beautiful and friendly city, I’m a born and raised Milwaukee native and I love Milwaukee it’s a very clean city at least 80% and we have lots of great cozy and intimate restaurants, breweries, shopping, sports, museums and of course our beautiful Great Lake Michigan- the people overall are very active,engaging and down to earth, our freeways are awesome and you can get anywhere in the city in 15 minutes, we have wonderful neighborhoods, pride in homeownership and metropolitan condos and apartments, the coolest places to hang out is the third ward, water street, old world third street, Brady street, Bradford beach 🏖 downtown and the eastern parts of the city are the really cool hip areas, hope you enjoy and come back soon 🥰
I am a Milwaukee native and still live in a suburb of Milwaukee. I am so happy you loved our city. Our slogan has always been a great place on a Great Lake. You visited some of my families favorites. There is so much more to see and do. There are places like old world Wisconsin, holy hill, our zoo and museums are fantastic. We have ton of festivals down by lake and throughout the city all summer.

Thank you for this video. I agree that Milwaukee should pay you for it. Milwaukee has not had the best reputation but that video made me want to go now. You did a great job of capturing the sites and scenery.
She captured like 5 blocks...10 tops. Milwaukee is like this in a very tiny area and only if you can afford it. This is what the mayor wants you to think Milwaukee is like, but it's not. Take a trip north to Door County and Sturgeon area. Look up my friend's little bed and breakfast "Foxglove Inn" and enjoy a real vacation. 👌

I love when cities have the imagination to renovate and repurpose buildings instead of always tearing them down and building glass monsters. Love this video; thanks for sharing your trip.
Milwaukee has done a fantastic job of reinventing their old buildings. There were flower baskets hanging from every single light post which I absolutely loved! The streets were clean, not overcrowded, easy to navigate, and so hip!!! Loved MKE!
I'm from Chicago but I work in Milwaukee and I actually prefer it...it's super affordable, the people are great, the food is good...it's super duper 'midwesty' lol so if that's not your thing I get it but I refuse to speak against Milwaukee love that town!

I'm glad you were able to make it up for a visit! I don't have children, but I'm sure it's difficult for your eldest to be that far away (and your youngest, too, during the school year). Yay! I live in Wisconsin and I'm so glad you got the most important stuff done...tasting our local beers, cheese curds and fish fry! Lol! The markets are great and ya gotta love the local farmer's fare! I love me a farmer's market!
I bought a jar of spun honey at the Farmer's Market (I'm a honey lover) so I enjoy putting it in my coffee every morning and thinking about my daughter and our visit to Milwaukee 💗

You had a fabulous trip and THE best tour guides! I’m going to have to stop and go make something to eat after watching all that beautiful food! The Asian place!!! Oh my goodness - heaven! And your Italian food looked delicious. Burrata! It’s my fave! Both the indoor market and the farmer’s market looked beautiful! It’s been a very long time since I’ve been to Milwaukee and it looks like I’m missing out. I had a childhood friend who lived there and after she left, I just never went back. I think I need to change that and, thanks to you, I know where to eat and where to stay! 🌼

Lake Michigan is even more scenic on its eastern side. Small towns with a only a few small cities dotting the way and largely undeveloped shoreline. Skyline views of large cities cluttered with clusters of many tall glass and steel structures are mostly visually uninspiring, I think.
@@msr1116 While you get the sand on that side, there is more to the Michigan Shore Line in Wisconsin than just Milwaukee! Maybe why with Erin Hills, we had the U.S. Open, Sand Valley we had the Ryder Cup, Whistling Straits. What major national golf tournements do you have along your coast? Or Port Washington, Sheboygan, Green Bay ... . And you have nothing like Door County! Or Washington Island!

I work at purple door and I’m so glad you enjoyed! My favorite thing about Milwaukee is the massive Antique stores I can explore. So many hidden treasures.
'Brewhouse Inn' looked cool! Nice you had 3 day stay in Milwaukee, WI. Tebo & Kendall both seem calm spirited .... make a good couple both very self confident! 'Milwaukee City Market' was huge! Awesome other places like the 'Farmer's Market' 'IKEA' - must be humungous to be in there "4 hours." 'Shake Shake,' 'Stone Creek Coffee' ...... didn't realize Milwaukee, WI. was so nice! food looked delicious!

Milwaukee native for decades here - you went to some great spots! My go to recommendation is The Safe House, it's an experience. Go there if you come back through. I'm so happy you enjoyed my city and put it in such a nice light

I have been there twice with my son Ronnie. Love it so much too. Then we ate burgers and fries on the rooftop and an appetizer. Delish!!
