I was born and raised there. I agree with you, it’s such an underrated city. It definitely doesn’t get the respect it deserves. Great video, by the way.
@@dicksatan6444 Yes it is. It has a car theft problem and is among one of the worst cities in the country for that. They just cleared a couple of highway park & rides of homeless people who will undoubtedly set up shop in the city where they can continue to have their homeless city.
Thanks, Cathy, for illuminating our great city. I live here, and have visited some of the places you showcased, but you also motivated me to take advantage of some treasures here I do not frequent enough. I look forward to the rest of your mid-west tour..
Aw thank you! I'm glad you thought so. All my other midwest videos are out too if you haven't been to Nashville or St Louis in a while, I hope those are inspiring as well.
I have never had a bad time in Milwaukee. A quick Hiawatha up from Chicago and really stupid shenanigans ensue. Seriously. One of my favorite American cities.
You're such a positive person, I love it! I'm from the Midwest, and I never expected someone to take the time to tour the states. This was a great video, really shows how underrated the area is. I'd love to visit now!
Nice video Cathy, I'm from Madison Wisconsin & your right Milwaukee is so underrated. In fact, the whole state is underrated. I'm glad you took the time to go there. Currently, I'm stationed in North-East Asia & someday I plan to go back to retire.
This just came across my recommended videos and loved your artistic style of showing MKE! I moved to MKE for work for a few years then got relocated to Cincinnati before deciding to move back to MKE because I missed it so much because it really is it’s own unique vibe of of the Midwest!
The wings of the museum don't open if it's too windy, and the architect who designed the museum, Santiago Calatrava, also designed the World Trade Center in NYC!
great video! And you proved that Milwaukee is safe to travel to and walk around for a solo woman by herself. As an outsider, besides some crime issues one of the only things I can see that might hold the city progress back is high property taxes. Other than that the city looks fantastic in summer 🍻 Can you please put Buffalo, NY on your itinerary. Hit up Niagara Falls while there. Or do an epic Buffalo-Niagara-Toronto 🇺🇲🇨🇦 bi-National trip? Buffalo is noticeably smaller than Milwaukee but still an under the radar gem
Yes Milwaukee is a great city and many things to do. Public Museum HD Museum and The Brewers stadium is good to take a tour. The Milwaukee Zoo is awesome .However for outsiders, Milwaukee is maybe the most divided city by race in the Midwest. There are places in Milwaukee you take your own life in your hands if you don't know where you are going. Crime and murder rate is high. Most live in the suburbs and those cities are cool too. I'm not saying don't move here but just ask questions before you do move. Winters do suck but it's not as bad in Milwaukee as Northern Wis. It's warmer near the lake in Winter. And they have fests and winter events too. You might have to wear extra clothes though.
Milwaukee is no different from any other major American city, they all have their 'hoods. You'll be fine if you use common sense and awareness of your surroundings.
Most live in the suburbs, then how do you explain the 500,000 of us who live in the city? This comment sounds like someone who lives in the burbs. Like any rustbelt city, it does have its socioeconomic challenges, but two simple rules; Don't go out at night looking for drugs or walking around by yourself in a drunken stupor and you will have no issues.
Come and join us! Just remember Winter isn’t as bad here as say the Twin Cities, but you still need to be prepared to put on an extra layer and a little extra patience with the first accumulating snow. 😊
Milwaukee locked down and masked up early, an unpopular move in some quarters, but as a population center, we were getting hit harder by C19 than the rest of the state in the early stages of the pandemic. There was also a strong vaccination push, city-provided shots at the convention center downtown. This meant that, before delta variant ramped up, we had really knocked down infection rates to where businesses could _safely_ open back up. Then yahoos around the nation who preferred fake cards and quack medicine to actual vaccine had to ruin things for us all.
I was born and raised there. I agree with you, it’s such an underrated city. It definitely doesn’t get the respect it deserves. Great video, by the way.
glad I was able to share your hometown!
Milwaukee is going downhill fast.
@@Bonzi_Buddyno it isn’t.

@@Bonzi_Buddy I have no problems living here. I wonder if you even live in the city😏
Thanks for saying so much great stuff about MKE. It is indeed the Midwest’s best kept secret.
It really is! Glad I got to spend some time there

Aw thank you, I'm happy that I've been getting so many comments including yours that I've portrayed your wonderful city so well.
I’m a local and when I say you hit everything I go to on the regular that I love, even the Mad Rooster! Glad you loved Milwaukee!
I love your editing style Cathy! Also really enjoying this Midwest tour, what a fun idea! 😊

I visited Milwaukee a few years ago. I loved it! The Miller Brewery was well worth the time and money.
I'm from Brooklyn , have a friend out there ,but would some day love to visit, I find it to be such a Beautiful Place.
so glad you made it to MKE! Beer & cheese is definitely in abundance here, but there's so much more to see and experience!
I’m glad you enjoyed yourself in our cityyyy💓lol I liked how you enjoyed the quilts😭
They were absolutely astounding tbh❤️🔥
There's been new additions to the skyline since you've visited!
ooo nice sneak peak to the van gogh thing. now i don't have to go lol
lol youre welcome
Thanks for the tour,, 😁 and what's the song at 11:00
Yes Milwaukee is really so underrated!!
I would like to live in Milwaukee, away from where i currently live and everybody here

ah no wonder it looked so similar! thats super cool
Brise Soleil (not wings)

Love it! Been living here forever.
wow that bar is so fun!
Second Milwaukee tour with no mention of Summerfest
Because that is only something you can see at one particular time a year. That’s an event, not a regular tourist attraction.
Which is OVERRATED

as someone moving to milwaukee in a month without having ever visited.... thank you for reassuring me that milwaukee is a ✨cool✨ city !! 🤣🤣💞
summers a great time to experience the city! good luck
same for me:( how is it?
You made it look great.
i like the giant red solo cup
The Eastside of milwaukee is great
I love Milwaukee and once lived down the street from Laverne & Shirley, those were some Happy Days!!!
Fonz is still there but he's pretty stiff standing on the walk by the river so long. Birds like to poop on him. AYYY
14:06 same architect as the Oculus
If you didn't learn from the Van Gogh exhibit, you didn't read the displays at the entrance. It was an amazing exhibit.
Meh

What was the name of the park u went to
Lakeshore State Park. It’s free, unlike most of our state parks.
She also hit Lake Park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted who did Central Park as well.
Is it safe for a female single traveller?
Outrageous taxes, very high crime, terrible schools. Not a gem.
Hey Cathy I'm thinking about moving to Milwaukee

It's like pandemic happening in another world, n nothing happened in Milw.
wait until you see my Nashville vlog

I was raised there. Beautiful city, but the high crimes and rude individuals ruined its reputation.
Great video, don’t be afraid of Trump supporters, not bad people lol
