    It's amazing with all the pressure of compacting the silo walls don't buckle under pressure. You guys were very fortunate for such a great harvest this year. Love watching your channel

    • @michael7423
      @michael7423 3 года назад +12

      ive wondered about those walls holding all that pressure myself, they are obviously been well built!

    • @wichitajake8032
      @wichitajake8032 3 года назад +14

      When storing solids, it's a bit counter intuitive. Typically, in solids storage, pressures are exerted more on the base than the walls. Liquids on the other hand, exert equal pressure on the walls and base of a storage container. That's why you typically see tall and narrow silos and short and wide liquid tanks.

      @@wichitajake8032 Somehow water pressure is entirely determined by height of the water and not volume.

    Leaning On The Everlasting Arms... some powerful words, some strong memories! Great song. Thank you.
    You know, I wrote my comment before I read any other comments... sure makes my heart feel good seeing the large number of people who know what that song is, and what it means. Thank you friends, sometimes you just don't know how a simple comment can lift someone who's had a rough week or who's been taking some licks and needs to know there ARE others out there who know and understand. No, it's not dusty and it's not allergies - those are tears of thankfulness for a God who loves us no matter what. So thank you for that reminder. Amen.

    Thanks for the video's Eric! I live in a small village in The Netherlands and I am fortunate to be surrounded by alot of farms. I find it really facinating and love how you take the time to not only show, but also explain why you do, what you do! When i can, i join one of the neighbours in the tractor and ask ALOT of questions xD
    You called a crob "Alfalfa", we have that in the land near our property, but here we call it Luzerne. I was wondering what the difference was, but it turns out Luzerne is the plant and Alfafa seems to be the seed :)
