It's amazing with all the pressure of compacting the silo walls don't buckle under pressure. You guys were very fortunate for such a great harvest this year. Love watching your channel
When storing solids, it's a bit counter intuitive. Typically, in solids storage, pressures are exerted more on the base than the walls. Liquids on the other hand, exert equal pressure on the walls and base of a storage container. That's why you typically see tall and narrow silos and short and wide liquid tanks.
Theyve got tons i mean literal tonnes of steel in the as well as different chemicals to help cure the crete stronger! I work for Coldstream Concrete Ltd, we do some pretty big walls and stuff, not neccisarilly farm stuff other than Tile in Concrete
LOVE that version of LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARMS ! It looks as soothing as the music but I know it was a lot of work ! Great to have that much behind you ! God Bless !
I love the music that played while the bin was being filled and packed. We sing that a church. It is so good to really know who we can lean on no matter what is going on in our lives.
That’s what flotation tires do best, allow you to keep going in wet areas, back in the day running an old row crop tractor pulling a chopper and a wagon would have never made it through. Equipment has come a long way.
always amazes me how little people know of the food chain and where things come from, but I grew up around Ag and still stick a toe in it. Thanks and God Bless the American Farmers and Ranchers
Eric looks like 2021 corn silage is just about done with for the year now and I'm willing to bet that you'll be proud to have it done with too have a great day now
Leaning On The Everlasting Arms... some powerful words, some strong memories! Great song. Thank you. You know, I wrote my comment before I read any other comments... sure makes my heart feel good seeing the large number of people who know what that song is, and what it means. Thank you friends, sometimes you just don't know how a simple comment can lift someone who's had a rough week or who's been taking some licks and needs to know there ARE others out there who know and understand. No, it's not dusty and it's not allergies - those are tears of thankfulness for a God who loves us no matter what. So thank you for that reminder. Amen.
Thank you for this video. We must keep present in mind the hard work it takes to keep us all well fed. You are deserving of more recognition and respect.
I enjoy your music choices. Another channel I follow, Tin Barn Farm, plays good ol’ cowboy music. The right tunes can really add to the video. Eric, you are one of my favorite you tubers. Kudos for the fantastic drone shots today.
I was heading to State College PA today and passed a number of dairy farms. I identified a number of machines because of your videos. Manure spreader, feed mixer and cows!
The drone shots were spectacular Eric and the music for the done montage. It is pretty cool to see em chopping in mud but with those wide tires it's like cutting a cake. Bit check out silage harvest in england that sum crazy stuff. Keep up the good work
The drone footage was awesome Eric. Your farm and surrounding land is a beautiful part of our country. With the background music included, it was excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
I never realized until I started watching you on RUclips how much work it takes to have a gallon of milk in my refrigerator..... Thank you very much for your hard work!
Thanks for the video's Eric! I live in a small village in The Netherlands and I am fortunate to be surrounded by alot of farms. I find it really facinating and love how you take the time to not only show, but also explain why you do, what you do! When i can, i join one of the neighbours in the tractor and ask ALOT of questions xD You called a crob "Alfalfa", we have that in the land near our property, but here we call it Luzerne. I was wondering what the difference was, but it turns out Luzerne is the plant and Alfafa seems to be the seed :) Anyway, i always enjoy your video's, Keep it up!
I love your choice of leaning on the Everlasting Arm. That song was actually wrote in the town I was born in. It was first placed in Mount Rachel Baptist church in 1887. God bless and keep farming.
Hey kid, good job! I love the way you and your Dad work together and the way your Pop's is so quick to teach as well as listen to you.... He's a good man! Keep him around for a while....... Also your drone shots are spectacular!
My son and I watch your videos every night before going to bed he loves your videos we got a farm down here in North Carolina love the song keep doing what your doing!
Love the drone shots, it shows layout of farm, awesome shots working on silage bunker all the crew throwing out tires. That was a beautiful song lifting your hands up to heaven and resting on the arms of Jesus. Amen!!
Looking thru comments realize how few people realize how a cow's digestive track works, or how strip tillage works. Were those drone shots or from the top of the silo?
“Leaning on the Everlasting Arms”, Everyday
The drone shots are absolutely beautiful.
That violin music just soothed my soul….love those old hymns!
I must say that drone footage was my favourite part!
It's amazing with all the pressure of compacting the silo walls don't buckle under pressure. You guys were very fortunate for such a great harvest this year. Love watching your channel
ive wondered about those walls holding all that pressure myself, they are obviously been well built!

@@wichitajake8032 Somehow water pressure is entirely determined by height of the water and not volume.
I think most of the weight goes to the ground

LOVE that version of LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARMS ! It looks as soothing as the music but I know it was a lot of work ! Great to have that much behind you ! God Bless !
There’s nothing quite so satisfying as an abundant harvest, no work quite as deeply rewarding. Your herd is well set for winter and beyond.
Watching everyone working motivated me to mow my lawn. Thanks!
Leaning on the everlasting arms. Right on.
Had me singing along! Love it
@Nobody .12 wet
