I love Ulrich! The man is an absolute wizard. He mixed and mastered three singles for my band and made them absolutely amazing! Warren, this is the very best music production channel on RUclips. Please don't ever stop! Love and respect from Canada 🇨🇦❤
Hi. Ulrich, lovely to see you...seems like yesterday, and a thousand years at the same time..Proud to call you friend.... and, Warren? Another great engineer to feature, but, then again, i am a little bit biased..
Great work, Ulrich! Wisconsin Death Trip is something I listen to still quite regularly. Really enjoyed the information and tips you gave for this course as well, man. Keep up the great work! \m/
I do find it somewhat mind-boggling that Acustica stuff is so rarely mentioned round these parts. Although I did see someone mentioned a TimP Nebula. I’m always reaching for the Ruby EQ, the Cream compressor, Erin & Gainstation on busses, Amethyst, Camel, Purple, Coffee they all have their place (plus many others). Once the vibe is added I get surgical with FabFilter or DMG and get Soothe and Gulfoss out when I fancy cheating on tricky material. Can’t imagine doing anything without Acustica now.
@@Producelikeapro I wonder if it’s because the Acustica stuff fills the ‘analogue vibe’ gap between well recorded stuff and the mix process. If you’re receiving vibey recordings there’s less need for it.
@@JulianMoore1 I wouldn't think so, people love McDSP and that's one of it's biggest appeals, the analog souding nature of it. If anything even the biggest mixers are given in the box di recordings to deal with!
I can't live without - Eventide Ultrachannel - Soundtoys Decapitator - Soundtoys EchoBoy - bx_masterdesk - Mastering The Mix Levels - TDR Kotelnikov Thats it.
Hey Ulrich, nice video.. thanks! I use the waves ssl 4k, ozone9 and the api 2500 very often as well.. I noticed you didn't link the stereo channels on the api.. Is that they way you normally use it, or is it set that way for that particular instance? thanks btw, I also like voxengo's elephant4 and teote, ik multi's eq-73 and vintage-670, waves ssl buss comp and rs-56 passive eq
You'll be surprised how many pros use some free plugins, do your research and you can can put together a decent tool kit. Even stock plugins are more then capable. Just a heads up, waves is running insane specials, Il also have a look at that as an option.
@@ravenconacher No I know, I use only free plugins and have a lot of near equivalent plugins to the ones shown in the video its just for a channel that promotes the ethos that 'anyone can learn to mix', this budget is beyond most ppl. I know he does alot on free plugins so its not one sided, so not a biggie.
What plugins can YOU not live without? Comment below!
There are so many plugins, Rbass, Ultramaximizer, SSL Bus Comp, Vintage Warmer, SSL Eq, NLS.
Forgot to say CLA-76 and Izotope

Interesting. Yes, the 200-300 professionals we’ve talked to haven’t necessarily mentioned those plug ins as often as some others.

Great video Ulrich
Glad you enjoyed it
An analysis of some of the songs he produced could be interesting, Warren. Like you used to do with Michael Beinhorn or Jerden.
Yes! Great idea
initially i thought "can't live without" was a bit dramatic but then i realized if you took away L1 i might actually need a defibrillator
Haha thanks ever so much for sharing

At least $500 worth of plugins and that's before you even add on Logic for the compressor, great if you can afford it.

Hi Kevin, with the exception of the Ozone Suite (which you can also use monthly) everything here can be bought for $29 in the Waves sale
@@ravenconacher exactly! I use stock plug ins and inexpensive ones equally. The ears are definitively the most important thing!
@@Producelikeapro Thanks Warren, I didnt know that, good to know.
