  • Chris' 1990 Survivor is back from paint and now it is time to start putting things back together. The key to a good paint job is to strip as much stuff from the car beforehand to get paint where the factory never did, like the engine bay! This isn't a full blown resto, but it sure will be a real nice cruiser!

I am going to take out my carpet just to clean it and put it back in. Love your videos!

I had an ACC carpet in my 86 from previous owner . The fit was garbage. 4 years later he contacted me and said he still had factory carpet and he could ship it. He did and two can of spray dye it is back in the car. Perfect fit!

You know Im a sucker for a Titaniu 5.0! Very cool to see this coming together, especially since it is the opposite of my build. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. And 3 Godzilla swaps? Man, Im jealous, sort of. Still think about that Zilla, but am very happy with my build.

In my working days I used to say that I would “Rather burn out than rust away“.
In other words I would rather be too busy than not have enough to do.
I definitely think you have reached the busy stage, just pace yourself; ‘burnout’ will sneak up on you!

Yup, soaked mine overnight in a plastic garbage can with dawn dish soap. Hosed it off at local car wash and it turned out fantastic.

I always put thread sealant on the flywheel/flexplate. the holes on the crank go all the way thru and it can and will allow oil to pass thru the bolt threads and make it look like a rear seal problem.

I agree with you 100 percent on the carpet. When I restored my Lx I bought new carpet it looked horrible. I found a nice factory carpet last year and burned that bs carpet.

Same color as my first Mustang LX 5.0 which happened to be a 90. Doesn't happen to be the 25th anniversary?

Hi Chris, nice work! When you painted around the door frame (around window) did you remove the weather stripping (run channel) or paint is applied to that also? Thxs for your help 🙂

@TheInfamousProject Great thxs! Saves me trouble of removing it, I didn't think trim paint would adhere to rubber, that's cool thxs again 🙂

Are you going to drop the engine in without removing the trans. It would save alot of work but I can't find any videos doing it this way. Would the trans shaft be in the way or would the engine go down and in.

I wish I never would've thrown my old carpet away, it was in pretty bad shape but may have been salvageable. The new carpet from ACC is not bad but next to the kick panels up front it's trash, molded horribly
