There's love for your husband and a mother's love. There is no way in the world my husband would stop me going to my daughters wedding. Seeing her mum cry is heartbreaking 💔. Both brides look beautiful.
I'd divorce a man before staying home from my own daughter's wedding. If he's that callous, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him for the rest of my life.
I'd would have been packing my bags and changing the locks at the same time 🔒 There is no way I would have missed my daughters wedding!! That cast iron skillet in my kitchen has multiple uses. He's crazier than two road lizards 🦎. Mom should have been packing her clothes and stacking her coins. And for extra measure packing that cast-iron seasoned black skillet.
I've already told my husband that if his beliefs keep him from one of our children's weddings, I won't stop him. But heaven help the soul who tries to keep me from celebrating my babies on their special day if my babies want me there.
It is sad that in the original video of shopping she seemed to be saying she would go. Clearly, she wasn't strong enough to be able to go against her husband for their daughter's second marriage.

I can't believe Elizabeth's mother and sister won't be at her wedding after all. How abusive is that husband to forbid them from going?! Absurd, mom needs to get out of there asap.
It's not just the fact that he won't let them go. It shows real red flags that he could be perpetrating dv on them. Maybe this is why she references him as her mother's husband and not her father. I hope they manage to make it out as Elizabeth did.
Wish we could rescue Elizabeth's mother and especially her little sister, something is very wrong in their house.

Awful how a family can't set aside their differences for an important day such as a wedding. I hope things are working out for this couple. Dayna on the other hand is pure goddess in the dress you chose.
If you've seen the pervious part of this, Dayna and her father basically cut contact because her dad was mad that she divorced her first husband for cheating on her, because good wives are supposed to stay there during good times and bad.

I was commenting on the bride who was in for a fitting with her mother who was upset she couldn't go to the wedding because of the rift between her husband and their daughter. If that's the case the bride is better off without her narrow minded father on the day.

Does anyone else feel that Elizabeth's mother is trapped in a toxic - possibly abusive! - relationship? As a mother myself, there's no way that ANYONE could keep me from my child's wedding. I just want to pull Elizabeth's mom aside and say, "sister, do you need help getting out?"

Utterly inspiring! The mother may be lost, but Elizabeth, and I think her younger sister, might be able to have a good life. All the strength and best wishes for them. Breaking away from lifelong abuse is hard.
Dayna’s family acted exactly how I would want families to react. They saw what the bride loved and also knew who she was and what might fit her more
Oh my gosh I remember that episode with the bride who now came for a fitting. I was so hoping the mom got to be at the wedding. She will regret this forever. I hope she ever finds the strength to leave her husband. I know how difficult it is to leave an abusive relationship, but it can be done.

It is her bio father, she just doesn't acknowledge him as he was against her divorcing previous cheating! husband.
For all the people judging the mom for not supporting her daughter, think for a second that she has another daughter to protect as well. If she has spent decades with that man (based on her older daughter's age) she may be without financial resources of her own, a skillset outside the home, & isolated from a support system. Her decision could easily be based on keeping a peace for her minor child (which big sister would understand). This girl could have a medical condition that is dependent on the father's insurance. She could have special educational needs that he pays for. I work with young people 13 -25 and sometimes the mothers (parents + caretakers of all kinds) have several unpleasant options and get to pick the one that is the least horrible.

I was so touched by the second bride's story, and am glad that the mother and sister were able to share the precious experience of finding her dress together. The first bride looked lovely in the gown that she chose. She may be inspired by Beyonce, but she needs to shine as herself.

Of course Elizabeth’s dad doesn’t want her mom to go to the wedding. God forbid she gets any ideas about following her daughter’s example, and musters up the strength to leave her abusive husband for a better man. Ladies, do everything you can to leave an abusive partner - they won’t change, no matter how much love or loyalty you pour into them. Pour it into yourself instead.
I left the X when he told me he was going to give me an ass whipping! This was said over the phone. When I knew he wasn't going to be home I got my dog and clothes and drove 14 hours to my parents. There was no way I was going to live in fear. Been divorced 37 years! Never again.

I love Lori's words that every person is fabulous the way they are. Allow the dress show your personality. Don't compare yourself with anyone or try to be someone, just be yourself.
Elizabeth's father is selfish AF! No one is keeping me from my child!s wedding. I don't care if they divorce down the line. Her mother needs to start thinking of divorcing. That's crazy.

Elizabeth's father should be ashamed of himself, no right to dictate, what surprised me was that he wanted his daughter to stay with her lying, cheating ex husband and expect her to put up with it! I feel sorry for her mother as she is clearly not confident enough to go to Elizabeth's wedding without having her husband's approval. Moral of this story, bullying comes in all shapes and sizes.

Not poor mother, it’s poor daughter to have such a pillock for a mother. If you’re unwilling to put your kids first when you have them, the rule of thumb would be to remain childless. It was the mother’s own choice not to attend.

Dayna's support group are so supportive, kind and classy. She looked great.
What a shame for the bride whose mother couldn't be there. I don't know the full story, but it sounds like the father is a piece of work. The bride seems strong and gracious in a bad situation.

they uploaded the clip from her first appointment a few days ago. the tl;dr is that she was married once before but he cheated on her so she got divorced, and her dad is the kind of shitbag that didn't approve of the divorce because "you stay with your man no matter what" so he doesn't approve of this wedding either and won't let his wife (bride's mom) attend to spite his daughter. dad is clearly majorly abusive and we were all hoping mom would serve him divorce papers of her own and hop the plane to hawaii.

If memory serves, the second bride Elizabeth's ex husband cheated on her, but her dad was opposed to the divorce for religious reasons. He is refusing to let his wife go to his daughter's second wedding now. Awful, and heartbreaking.

I felt so upset for her family, especially her mother. I was married to a controlling man like him but divorced him. He tried his best to ruin my life. I can tell this woman is miserable but too scared to leave bc her self esteem is gone. I wish the bride had paid for her mother to go, I would have found a way.

Obviously there was a lot of fighting behind the scenes; I feel the mother was using the father as an excuse for not being there. She was married before and it didn’t work out so I can only imagine how the family feels.

That’s a LOT of people :/ not to say A and B aren’t normal, but so are C’s, D’s, etc. I haven’t been a b cup since early high school, and to be made to feel like my chest would be abnormally large for a wedding gown even though I wear a size 6-8 seems silly.

The same thing happened to me. I’d asked my brother to give me away and my mother’s husband said he wouldn’t attend the wedding if he wasn’t doing it and if he wasn’t going, neither would she. Cue deafening silence from my mother. The wedding went ahead with neither of them there. 26 years later I’m now divorced and I would not invite my mother to any other wedding I might have due to her behaviour the first time round. She’s also divorced now too. I’m from NZ.

I feel so sorry for elizabeth. She has a terrible dad. I know how it felt. My dad can't come to my wedding too because of my mom. He is more afraid of her wife than losing her daughter. Me n my mom had a really hard relationship since I change my religion. She blocked my whatsapp like 3 years now. Never say hello or asking anything. Since I was a kid, my mom abused me phisically and mentally n try to dictate my life even when I already grown adult. I really have a toxic mom. So I can't imagine what elizabeth eas going through her life. God bless her new family.
