Short answer... yes. Grade 5 High Capacity + Screening shot. I run them 2x fixed on my Vulture. 6 shots per cannon per clip, over 300 rounds per cannon, with increased fire and reload rate. Haz res shredder!
Oh god yes. Both the APAs and Pacifiers are absolutely barbaric on the Chieftain which has great large hardpoint convergence and has the agility + hardpoint flexibility to make fixed guns insane, but on the Chieftain, you still have 3 small and 1 medium hardpoint leftover for gnats like SRFs and fighter-like ships. I'll have to see how it transitions into the Live Servers, but my Beta Chieftain was APAs on the large, Overcharged Bursts on the smalls and a Pack Hound on the medium (Drag Munitions) and this thing was deadly as the Spanish Flu in hazrez. Once the Drag Munition missiles hit, you can pretty much dump your engines to 2 and weapons to 4 if you need the capacitor. Use Wide Angle sensors though, because you'll want to be able to keep missile lock to perpetuate Drag munition debuff.
@@hobomisanthropus2414 WTF? I JUST NOW read your Steam forum post on the effective of Pacifiers on a Mamba, and then I immediately afterwards find this video with your comment, all while being 2 years late, lol. Ya got great loadout ideas my man. Whatta coincidence though!
Pacifiers on a Corvette.... xD They're extremely effective on a Vulture or FAS, or really anything that's more maneuverable than a Corvette. The ONLY problem in PvE is the ammo count -- they're not great for extended HazRes sessions -- but otherwise they are by far my weapon of choice.
Has anyone tried these on the Mamba with incendiary ammo and enlarged magazine? On paper a 6 shot 2 gun volley of incendiary should be doing ~720 damage to a typical shield (assuming all projectiles hit), from there put gimbled multis on the small and huge point, corrosive ammo on at least one of the smalls- you should absolutely devour anything you please with minimal heat/power letting you keep pips in speed
Hey not to freak any of you guys out but thargoid ships have been spotted near (30 ly) LHS 215 I do not know if it's in the beta phase or if it's on actual server but I do know when the release comes out LHS 215 and the stations around it will be attacked by thargoids they are now in the bubble ( they are only Scout ships for now )
Frags are only good if you fly aggressive stay on the enemies 6 with good speed and tight pitch and roll. You can joust well with them with practice. He said it all when he said smaller and maneuverable ships. I've been using them almost exclusively on my PVP FAS for around a year. They are great in PVP as well.
As i told you before. Flaks are the best weapons in game. But not for every ship. Not by a long shot. Try these babies on a Python next time. Learn To use them effectivly. And then you never want anything else. Trust me on this :)
Freedom frags are best as a gank weapon, specifically for running down fleeing player ships. Combined with yuri grom missles and a feedback rail on a FAS and you've got yourself a pretty deadly wing support build.
Thanks for the PP module videos - I've gone with the Pacifier over the A-PA as this seems like a better PVE option. I already use Frags on m Python so this seems a natural upgrade as well. Your video was very helpful in deciding!
Seems you're running high capacity on your multicannons. I'm curious as to what your experimentals are seeing as how using anything but overcharged seems to be a waste of resources
Hey I know this was a long time ago, but if you see it: may I ask why Overcharge over Doubleshot? I just started about 2 months ago, and am currently debating on overcharged vs doubleshot for my Mamba's incendiary frags :)
@@spaceonisorceress4406 Pacifiers usually hit close to target unlike regular frags which would benefit more from doubleshot due to them not being very accurate. Pacifiers hit closer to target and would be more suited to overcharged due to not needing the second shot to land hits.
I’m going to try these on a mamba that boosts to 640 (which is faster than frag shot speed but pacifiers OK). It would be nice if pacifiers work in drive by because frags need to get to 500m range before firing.
My internet speed doesn't allow me to play in open without constant crashing. Thus I only play in my private or solo. NPC's have a tendency to joust, thus I utilize a couple of long range beam laser's to get their attention, by the time they generally get with in range, the shields are down, and my frags which I have engineered to G5 with high capacity and both corrosive and drag experimental's, take over and finish the job. If they last long enough to get past me, I turn to face them, and like always, they come straight back and get another dose of the same thing. Most generally, it only takes them two to three attempts to get them selves destroyed. Tried Pacifiers, but the way NPC's tend to joust, the extra range is of no importance compared to the extra damage frags can do by them selves.
By the way I did like the video and I think I will recommend some of my friends that are in lower ships to go with the vulture with frag hopefully it will sharpen their pilot skills but you never know I'll always be there to pick them up
Frags are for highly maneuverable ships. Dont waste that amazing weapon that is the pacifier on a conda or corvette. Nah nah nah. Put them on a FDL, chieftain or mamba whichever you prefer. Hell put them on a python. Those ships can SHRED with pacifiers. They're basically better frag cannons. Minimal damage decrease over the regular ones but in actuality you will see a damage INCREASE as more pellets hit the target at anything beyond point blank. It really makes the "frag de lance" into a disturbing ship shredder.

Try them on the Chieftain. The two large mounts are relatively close together.

Damn, you are the best Elite Tuber of this little blue marble! Thanks a lot for your !genius! Videos!
Nothing to add here, just love your vids. thx mate!
In the stats comparison, you listed the DPS for gimballed frags under the pacifier; the pacifier has a DPS of 183 instead of 215.
Hmm. I think these on a Vulture would be quite deadly. Will try these once I've got my prismatics from Aisling. Another 3 weeks to go!
Would this work with a Mamba?
good with rapid fire or double shot with screening shell
For those interested a Frag Chief is a pretty fun build especially if you mix both normal and pacifier frags.
Very informative and cleanly spokeb
Great video, as always. You have saved me a lot of time and unnecessary effort in this game. o7 CMDR

Unfortunate that they're fixed only. I like the tighter spread a lot if they were gimballed. No doubt an intentional drawback. Sad.

Actually dps of pacifier is 25.4 when accounting reload times... Slightly lower than fixed beam laser
