You must check out a series called “Garth Meranghis Darkplace”. It has Richard Aoyade and Matt Berry in it and it’s fantastic.
I tried recommending this before but I think my comment was removed :( It's pretty good
Oh definitely! I think he'd love it!
Total goofy madness, I cried laughing through the whole series.
Only 6 episodes and amazing
yes it is a real gem.
“Alright, dry your eyes Bono” 😂😂😂😂
Black books immediately, then Spaced...
Black Books is awesome! I really hope they watch it next!
Spaced and Darkplace
Black Books is one of the greatest shows ever made
Spaced is a great call for after Black Books
Absolutely. Black Books will get you guys in the mood for Spaced. :D
Bottom and the Young Ones are essentials!
Oh my god, Brian would LOVE Bottom...!!
Pretty sure he's got them covered already on Patreon
Couldn't do them on RUclips too much violence and swearing
@@mathewduffy5827 Yes you can
Black books is by the same guy who did IT crowd and Father Ted
Linehan co-wrote the first series only
Black books is great :)
yes, black books next :)
Another vote for Black Books from me
@@rakeogh4727 which first series? Black Books with Dylan Moran, IT with? and Father Ted with Arthur Mathews. That sounds like a major, sustained talent to me.
Agree with everyone that Garth Meringues dark place and the Mighty Boosh need to be reacted to. You’ll see some familiar faces.
They'd really enjoy Dark Place.
The Mighty Boosh is GOATED
Yes to both of those! Especually Dark Place, which is genius.
@@RobPritchardTVNo! I'm not happy with people saying GOAT but you cannot put a fucking capital ED on the end.
Love the Mighty Boosh! The live show was really good as well!
I'd really urge you guys to give This Country a go. One of the better British comedies of the last decade, with some really funny characters!
Creators of IT crowd and Father Ted made another quite funny series called Black Books. It is maybe not as good as these two but still crazy and funny. You should try to watch it. But unfortunatelly it is not as favorite.
they also wrote on the fast show, and big train, both are amazing
The other time they didn't bleep was when Denholm Reynholm told Jen she fucked up the guy was too slow with the bleep button.
Don’t forget about the time when Jen was having lunch with her successful school friend and she said something ‘what a fucker’
@@asbjrn8108 I did forget that bit 😂
It might be the end, but there are plenty of great British comedies out there. I strongly recommend the hidden gem GARTH MERENGHI'S DARKPLACE next. It's crazy, and has some familiar faces that you love. 😊
If you enjoy Matt Berry who plays Douglas you should check out Toast of London,it's weird but brilliant 😂
it's Clem Fandango...can you hear me,?😂
100%
When Reynholm said 'a PC World, if you will...', people laughed cause 'PC World' was a shop we used to have in the UK
It's still around but it no longer has seperate stores from it's parent company Curry's.
@@mcborge1That's just the sort of response I'd expect from someone who watches the IT Crowd 👍🏻
@mcborge1 You beat me to it; it still exists, but integrated into Currys stores, in the same way that a lot of Argos stores are in Sainsburies stores; well, almost the same :)
@@Sicram Super nerd here. PC World and Currys are actually both part of Dixons Retail plc. You used to have Dixons, Currys and PC World as three separate stores, but I think all of them are now just called "Currys PC World".
@@hedgehog1965uk Thanks. I shall sleep easy tonight 👍🏻
You didn't catch the cameo from Super Hans (Matt King), playing Raymond Peterfellow the porn king.
Never knew that...watch prob 20 times
I came here to say that. Now what do I do?
And Shakira from Man Down as the homeless woman....
Shame you cut out the bit Douglas breaks into a car using his previously acquired robot hand only to comedically realise it’s his own car that he’s smashed! Classic
Thank you for introducing me to the IT Crowd. Excellent
The fella on the right hand side during the game board section plays Navid in the excellent Still Game. He was also in a few funny wee skits with angelos Epithemiou and Bob Morimer for fosters a while back
I would recommend next, in order
1. Garth Meranghis Darkplace - It stars Richard Aoyade and Matt Berry, it's short (6 epissodes), extremely surreal and very funny.
2. Black Books - Graham Linehan co-created it with Dylan Moran (lead actor) and was one of the writers (1st season). Great writing, amazing cast and fantastic cameos from many funny comedians of the time
3. The Mighty Boosh - Strap in and come with us on now on a journey, through time and space ....
Spaced and Toast as well
I think what makes the internet joke so funny for me is that i think this episode was 3 years after the series ended ..and about 5 years after the original joke
Wasn't "the internet" destroyed, though......? 🤔🤨
Black books is a must
Definitely
House of Fools for Matt Berry antics is an option also.
Indeed
@@edwardbevington9351 yes everything he's in
Black Books definitely📽️😁
"Shut the fridge, it's game board!"
I went to a Snooker hall in Glasgow with my dad one Sunday evening (I was a teenager). When we finished playing my dad took me to the bar for a coke and just as we walked in, a drunk and abusive guy was being thrown out. It was my History teacher. I had History the following morning. I asked him why he got thrown out of the Snooker hall last night. If looks could kill......
The look would be 50% from your audacity to question him, but also 50% from him having a raging headache due to "bein' oan the swally" as we say in dundee. Wha gets leathered the night before an early start? Ooof!
🤣
I especially loved the goofy cut where Queen Boomer walks off-screen and immediately re-appears in her chair 😆😂
48:03 game board style
Theres a reference to "cat bin lady" who was a real woman caught on CCTV putting a cat into a wheelie bin so it couldn't escape, and she was hated by the entire country from that point onwards, the cat was fine though
But Jason Manford's dog thought it was hilarious.
Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place is really good
We have loved watching The It Crowd again 👋😀 There are so many great British comedies. From the best and most popular Only Fools and Horses to Dads Army to Just Good Friends to Bread to The Thin Blue Line to Gimme Gimme Gimme to Derry Girls to Rising Damp to Not Going Out the list is endless 🔥👌
And so the journey ends. Now please watch Derry Girls!
Now come on King Boomer. The woman did not make a noise like a deranged turkey when Jen dropped the coin in her cup of coffee. She said "what the hell did you do that for?" Only she ran it all together and didn't articulate any of the consonants. She's kind of like Kenny from South Park. You can tell what she's saying if you pay attention most of the time but it's hard.
11:56 - "You perfumed, porno vampire."... Did Matt Berry just predict his future as Laszlo Cravensworth?
Add to the comments... If you like awkward cuts you really do have to watch Moss and Douglas Renholm in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
Seconded
11:42 - I was this years old when I realised that this Peter Stringfellow character here was played by Super Hans (Matt King) from Cheap Show. Maybe I clocked that years ago but had just plain forgotten. It caught me out this time of watching this episode.
What I loved about the last episode is they made a proper episode instead of a thrown together gimmicky program. It was a true reflection of the quality of the show. Made me very happy.
Looking forward to Black Books
And Time Gentlemen Please
'Allo 'Allo, Black Books, Absolutely Fabulous, The Might Boosh, The League of Gentlemen
Paul Revere actually cried "The Redcoats are coming" - a lot of the colonists who considered themselves revolutionary still regarded themselves as British at the time.
Exactly. I remember I pissed off an American tourist in London once because they described the founding fathers as one of the finest generations of Americans and I replied with "Yeah, because they were British." I was clearly joking but an amused American they were not.
Please add Phoneshop to your watchlist! ❤ Amazing show! First episode is a bit slow but picks up after that.
Can I also be the one to point out, the Peter Stringfellow look-alike in Douglas's office with him is none other than SUPER HANS!!!!
The Mighty Boosh is a must
I love Boosh, but its pretty niche, its love or hate.
@@KnowhereClueKB and QB have said a few times they love outlandish comedy, but the Boosh is outlandish on a lot of Cocaine.
Would be interesting to see.
i have never found the mighty boosh funny at all i just don't get the humour
Only three words to describe not watching the Mighty Boosh "IT'S AN OUTRAGE"
@@Rahab84 fair point, still don't think its funny at all though
i hope y'all react to the bloopers for each season !
HAVE to watch “ house of fools “ with Matt Berry and vic & Bob. Over the top laugh out loud stuff.
So sad that this is the last episode of "IT Crowd"to react to.
Lmao, Moss subtly roasting Douglas is one of the best moments.
"Book recommendation? I can't read!" LMAO, he sounds so proud about it.
"Coffee Tramp Toss Bitch"and "Small Person Racist".
Please do Black Books or Mighty Boosh next. Richmond is really famous in Britain. He is called Noel Fielding and he is best known for Mighty Boosh. You would love it.
I forget Super Hans (Raymond Peterfellow) was in this episode.
Matt King (a.k.a Superhans in peep show) is Raymond Peterfellow which is a play on Peter Stringfellow who was an owner of several lap dancing bars. Almost forgot he was in this episode alongside Sanjeev Kohli best known for his role as Naveed in Still Game.
The Mighty Boosh must be next, surely.
Yep. They're both definitely ready for it at this stage.
Darkplace
Cat Bin Lady was a real person, who was seen on CCTV footage pushing a cat into a bin
Please react to Garth Merenghi's Darkplace!
11:44 It's Super Hans
You both need to watch bottom next 90s uk TV show with rik mayall & ade edmondson it's hilarious
They have already, they're on patreon.
Cant believe you didn't recognise Matt King (Super Hans) as "perfume poor no vampire" 😯
Darkplace is must watch, but I'm also recommending Saxondale. Everyone bangs on about Alan Partridge so much that Saxondale tends to get forgotten. Rock group roadie turned middle aged pest control operative with anger management issues. Its great.
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace should be your next reaction series. It's only six episodes, but it is top-notch from start to finish. It also has Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry in it.
If you love Kathy Burke from what she did with Harry Enfield then I recommend a sitcom she was in called "Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie." It does not contain Harry Enfield and it will probably take a few episodes but it is really really good. It is from 1999-2001.
Agreed 💯💯💯
Not many RUclipsrs brave enough to take it on
11:44 SuperHans!
Whats better than the IT Crowd? Seriously! Its one of the very best series out there. Yes agree its a top 5 show for sure.
Loved watching you and the Queen react to this series, looking forward to what’s next- big love to you all x
Yes, that is Ashley McGuire ("Shakira" from the Cafe in Man Down) as the homeless lady - also check out her hysterically frightening performance as amateur tattooist "Big Mandy" in "This Country" (BBC)
you should do the bloopers
What We Do In The Shadows. 'nuff said.
Loved your reactions to this show!
Another great one with Matt Berry is Snuff Box (Berry & Fulcher's Snuff Box)!
There’s so many more British sitcoms to discover 😂 wish I could go back and watch them for the first time
Blackadder goes fourth
Red dwarf
The thick of it
There’s a endless list
"Blackadder goes FORTH"! (Goodness me what do they teach in schools nowadays!) The whole Blackadder series (series of series?) is brilliant but that last one of WWI is just the best. Don't anybody tell them about what happens in the very last episode though.
Matt King (aka Super Hans) here playing Raymond Peterfellow.
I really wish he’d do some more stand up!
You know that was Superhans as Raymond Peterfellow.
"I associate the word ciao with Italians" ... that's because it is Italian
Well, not to be pedantic but he could easily have been Portuguese or Brazilian and said "Tchau"
My favorite all time episode was The Red Door when Richmond was introduced.
You should watch Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie. It stars Kathy Burke (who you'll know as Perry from Kevin and Perry).
Incase you didn't spot it, the "perfume porno vampire" guy Douglas is talking to is the same guy who plays super Hans
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Richard Ayoade's in it. You'll love it.
There are some great recommendations, but if you want to try a different more modern show I would recommend Derry Girls.
Hi King & Queen Boomer, I know I keep saying you should watch 'Garth Marenghis Dark Place' but if you love Moss & Mr Renholm then you will love, love, LOVE! 'Dark Place' Moss (Richard Ayoade) is so funny in it and think his best/funniest role and Matt Berry (Douglas/Mr Renholm) is his typical self being hilarious! Only one series ever made think 6 episodes so wont take long to get through.
Cant remember watching this episode before, thankyou for the upload, had me laughing at work
My uncle died a couple of years ago. My dad and his 5 remaining siblings carried the coffin through the church, on their knees, to “Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to work we go”.
Thanks so much, KB and QB! Really enjoyed your reactions to stuff I’ve loved and been “brought up on” this side of The Pond. At the risk of duplicating suggestions, or saturating your ideas, have you encountered any of the following gems (IMHO) of British comedy? … ‘Man Down’, ‘Black Books’, ‘The Armando Iannucci Shows’, ‘Toast of London’ and ‘Absolutely’ (not to be confused with the also good ‘Absolutely Fabulous’). All surprisingly underrated and off most people’s comedy radars, but cult classics of alternative British comedy. Also worth considering the one season ‘Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place’, which features Matt Berry and Richard Ayoade.
‘Here we go’ is a great show and has Jen (Katherine Parkinson) and Gerard from Peep Show as the main characters. Husband and wife.
"It's frustrating that we did our things" is such a good phrase. I wish my memory was so good so I could remember it and incorporate it into my daily life.
.. I have been in situations where I done something where the consequences wasn't something I foresaw and it wasn't INTENDED to do any harm.. and.. AFTER it back-fires and you stand there gawking at the mess you made.. Regardless of how unintentional it was.. You.. are just conflicted between so many emotions.. and. .TRYING to claim innocence never work, you DID do "harm".. You can't undo it.. you can't claim it wasn't you.. to say it wasn't your intent sound SO insincere, but it is what you WANT to do.. It's kind of the.. "I am sorry if you felt hurt about it.." which looks like a reversal of blame, even if it is emotionally just me trying to say that.. Whatever happened wasn't really my fault. but.. what is frustrating is that I "DID" do my proverbial "thing".. So.. What to do REALLY?.. I am an over-thinker and it often leads to at least me having an inkling as to what is the right answer. Not sure why I can't at least make up my mind as to how to act when it comes to this, but. .I just know what is.. "wrong" and that may actually make matters WORSE (especially for the person I wronged).. Sometimes.. I decide that if I do nothing and say nothing, AT LEAST!! I can't make matters worse.. Sometimes I think that an actual apology where I just bite my tongue about how I feel the true nature is and just.. "own" the thing that I REALLY don't think is a true representation of my actual "self",.. because at least I did the thing that was misinterpreted and POSSIBLY I should've realized it could've been predicted if I had used any form of forethought, so.. Yeah.. The blame IS with me.. please don't make assumptions about me as a person, but at the moment I MAY just.. accept blame as if I REALLY did intend everything the way it was said, and.. that.. the responses I got when people were telling me how wrong I was really made me think about it.. bad bad Rioger.. I think I should learn my lesson.. a lesson I REALLY already know I just misunderstood the circumstance and did something foolish that upsetted someone in some way... OR!.. sometimes I even think (in the moment) that the best choice I can do is to steer in to the wave. .kind of.. owning it, but intentionally BEING a villain so much that at the very least any "emotional harm" will be reduced because they will be able to remember the situation and KNOW that I was just a random asshole they met who SERIOUSLY deserve no validity at all when it comes to their emotional state.
There are other options I have figured out existing as well. but.. I just never know what would be the best choice in any given situation.. It feels like I am just randomly making random choices. Sometimes it is a "hit" and other times it's a "miss".
I actually have some regret about a thing I did when I was in my mid teens at a school trip.. where I chose to steer in to the wave and remain the villain, where I LITERALLY within the last couple of months got in touch with the person and tried to apologize because I KNOW that being the villain was NOT the right choice, and I actually made matters WORSE.. She.. got angry with me for bringin up that time of her life to begin with.. I guess 35 years isn't enough to really emotionally get over being in THAT class and going to THAT school.. amusingly enough she said she didn't even realize what I was apologizing for, so her anger about me bringing up past events HAS to relate to just.. her general state of well-being at the time. I don't quite get it as ~I~ was the bully victim who got taunted whenever people saw me, repeatedly pushed, held down and kicked in the nuts (well, THAT didn't hapeen often), and so on.... but I can understand that she had things that wasn't seen, and probably things that I couldn't see because I was too busy with my own problems.. but yeah.. If anything this just make me MORE regretful over being very very very insensitive AND after realizing she didn't take it as the.. crude banter it was intended to be. .like.. "don't take it as actual serious".. I doubled down on it.. it was the completely wrong choice.. as I realized after it was too late to really take any other form of action (I thought.. as an adult I would not have ANY thought that I COULDN'T just say. ."Oh, I see you are getting agitated, and I am so sorry.. I didn't know my view even registered with you, so I thought you'd just brush it completely off and come back at me.. I am SO sorry.. I was being a dick, and I shouldn't have".. . but as a kid it felt like.. I made my choice I can't take any other path now... Of course the boys in the class laughed at.. the pure coldheartedness of my statement, so there was THAT part of the social interaction affecting my choices and feelings as well making it even MORE difficult to take it back and just say.. "Oh.. I SERIOUSLY fucked up.. Mae culpa".
That was a tangent, but it does show how strongly I SERIOUSLY don't know what the f* I am doing IF I do something wrong.. REGARDLESS of whether it was intentional or not.. or if I didn't understand the social sitaution or whatever.. How to manage it?.. Damage control.. I am not good at it.
Oh, and I AM on the Artistic spectrum. I am "passing" so it wasn't until I was an adult and actually asked to get tested for ADHD which I PRIMARILY did because there were so many boys in my family that had been diagnosed with it and it kind of "made sense" that this COULD explain some parts of my childhood if I too had it.. when they added autism it came as a complete surprise, but after my initial rejection of the notion, I.. started thinking about it (I DO have education in day-care and psychosocial development).. and.. Aspergers or something akin COULD also explain a lot of things.. so.. after 40.. when people INTENTIONALLY was looking for it.. it turns out I am enough deviant from "the norm" to BOTH get ADHD and atypical autism type one as a diagnose.
(I guess I have to finish it solo guys". .Yeah.. That´s what ~he said.. )
Lieutenant Riker in Star Trek had that leg on chair pose. Honest. It even had a name. The Riker Lean.
Boimler from lower decks did the Riker manoeuvre in star trek new worlds
Been waiting for this reaction 👊👍
"Cat Bin Lady" refers to a viral video of a woman caught on CCTV stroking a house cat that was sat on top of a bin (trash can) in the UK, before picking the cat up and putting it in the bin (for some reason)
GARTH MERENGHI'S DARKPLACE is a must.
Having seen what makes you laugh, I reckon "Coupling" would have you out of your chair quite a few times but "Black Books" is another silly one that might be further up your list. "Green Wing" is also pretty silly and has multiple great weird characters (including Mark Heap who played Jim in Friday Night Dinner).
Coupling is absolutely amazing, genuinely at home our siri is called ‘Susan’ and we have it set to be an Aussie accent
Black Books and The League of Gentlemen!
I love that little nod to the first episode in the clothes shop with his hot ear.
hello king boomer, you should definitely give not going out (with Lee Mack) a watch
I laughed so loudly when Jen threw the coffee over the homeless woman 😂 and then I wept when Moss turned the light out 😢. My favourite British comedy came to an end but I have loved watching you react to it and have enjoyed it all over again.
These IT Crowd reactions have been great.
I'd echo some of the other comments - it'd be great to see you react to Black Books. Green Wing is fantastic too.
My son is autistic. When he was first diagnosed I broke the news by messaging family. Predictive text changed it to artistic spectrum. My family responded with don't know what artistic spectrum is but we'll give him all the support he needs. Now when I watch this episode I laugh and cringe at the same time.
Fortunately every season has a long blooper reel to react to :) also! A few episodes of Travel Man feature IT Crowd actors and it kinda feels like the show all over again. I guess these actors can't help but play off eachother like they used to.
Everyone else has done Black Books. Watch Green Wing next 🙏 you and QB will love it
The reference to "Cat bin lady" - I remember the national outrage at that older woman putting a cat into a wheeliebin! There was a national campaign to find her & jail her, it went on for weeks!! I'm not kidding!!
Raymond Peterfellow is played by Matt King, who played Super Hans in Peep Show!
Katherine Parkinson (Jen) is really good in a dramatic role in the UK show 'Humans'. It also has Gemma Chan who was one of the actors in the Star Trek bit on The IT Crowd.
The guy who did the News is a legit Uk legend, and a newsman, his name is John Snow and he is a fking legend.
He's done other shows but he is a well respected newscaster and journalist who has a sense of humour.
He's a fking tool
The music on the intro for Game Board is also in the epically brilliant game Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator
Wonderful stuff! I used to watch The IT Crowd with my young kids, years ago. I realise that I was watching the censored version. I don't know what I would have done if some of the naughty stuff had come on!
47:43 just noticed his outfit looks like the building behind him, off white with red triangles and even has wrinkle lines in his shirt that matches the buildings balcony pattern lol
Ty sooo much for checking out this show!
Please include Graham Norton 'Funny horse names' and 'Restaurant fails'.
One of the pictures that pops up in the Channel 4 News photo montage at about 41:05 is Craggy Island Parochial House (Father Ted’s house).
Just saw Mandy Cane Lane react to this last week and now here we are. A bittersweet moment.

@@Ozzpot indeed :)

you should check out "what we do in the shadows" (2019) series, matt berry who plays douglas is in it :)
If you guys could possibly do Men Behaving Badly. Tons of seasons and one of the funniest British sitcoms of all time, you guys will both adore it.
