Lots of useful things mentioned as usual!
Thanks pal! 🐠🍟🥒🫒🍤
I noticed a slightly different smell of his breath but I figured it was the food he ate. You said somewhat sweet or sour? It is a sweeter smell. Not alarming but different. I have an appointments with the avian vet on 15th December.
Another fantastic video, thank you so much Sophie. I’ve learned so much from you and have a notebook and folder now full of information and materials to help make sure I can be a great bird mum! I’m waiting to get my first tiel at the end of July and want to make sure Im properly prepared! You’ve been so helpful, thank you x
Glad you’ve found my content useful! 😊 a notebook is a great idea to have things on had! I’m sure you’ll be a great bird mum! 🦜
Excellent information. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video (as per usual). I hope everyone who watched this knows NOT TO TRIM YOUR BIRD'S BEAK
Absolutely, I’d hope not too haha!
@birdnerdsophie and @ornithology dude Even if it has a disorder for having an overgrown beak?
@@birdiiii you can get a vet to do that usually, and even then they'll teach you how to do it usually if it's a reoccurring issue
@@ornithologydude8649 thank you I was just wondering, I think new owners would probably cut the nerves 😬. Filing would be ok though?
@@ornithologydude8649 I subscribed to you your videos look great. I just started doing similar kinds of videos too =D
Good job on the video. Checking out my budgies now.

Why did it have to be right when I am about to go to sleep? I think I'll watch it tomorrow or I'll try to extend the time to watch it 😜
Edit: 10 minutes..... Tomorrow 😉😴😴
Haha sorry! I filmed this morning and wanted to get it uploaded today! 😅
Hi Sophie, another great video. Honestly, I think you and Dave have the best bird channel on RUclips, so informative. I have two questions. How do you check the bottom of their feet without hurting them. Second, one of my Cockatiels will sit on my finger and shoulder, give me kisses, etc but he won't let me give him scritches. How do you suggest I check his ears?
Hi Sharon, thanks for your kind words!
To check our birds feet, we have taught them to wave so we can see their foot pads. With Louis we have him cling to the bars to look!
For training to accept scritches, here’s David’s video: ruclips.net/video/CIFRw1qaow4/видео.html
OMG SO EARLY!! Hi Sophie!!! I Havn't watched the whole video yet but Ik its gonna be fantastic!!! Love you!!! Btw Peanut also passed away 2 days ago because of some health issues :(

Hey sophie, just wondering if you think it's normal for my tiel to take naps throughout the day... now that i am at home much more I notice that Cleo takes naps for an hour or 40mins at a time... not sure if this is him being lethargic... but he's active pretty much all the time. he gets 12 hours of sleep a night, so i dont think he's taking a nap because he's not getting enough sleep tonight...
Let me know if this is a reason to send an email to my vet!
Hey! Yes it’s normal! Mine tend to go for a nap at 2-3pm every day 😊
Hello - I am based in NW London and looking to buy a single cockatiel but doing all my research atm. I wanted to ask how I go about seeing my nearest avian vet? I have done some google searches but no luck so any direction would help
The Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital has avian vets :) www.rvc.ac.uk/small-animal-vet/general-practice
What does it mean if the birds color becomes lighter every molting? Does that something to get worried about?
It depends how much lighter I suppose! But feathers will always look a bit fresher when they first grow in!
Hi Shopie.... I am from India and you mentioned that you can help us in finding an avian vet in india .... I have tried to look for one and couldn't find one. Can you please help me??
Hello! I can certainly try! Whereabouts in India are you?
I just finished watching it! Thanks for the info!
Fluffy has a patch of bare skin underneath his beak. It has been bare since he was a little baby bird. I'm not very concerned about it but I noticed that fish and chip has feathers under their beak. Does it indicate anything? Since it is directly under his beak I'm sure he didn't pluck it 🤔
Also, about the keel bone, Fluffy will bite me if I try to touch the area where his keel bone is.... What do I do now?
It’s probability fine if it’s been there his whole life!
Does he let you kiss his chest? Sometimes I use my nose to feel the keel of ours are being fussy and I feel renters in kissing their tummies!
@@BirdNerdSophie well, he will bite my face. I normally just kiss the top of his head
Hi Sophie, I don’t have a bird yet and I’m looking to get a cocktail so before I get one I want to know where the nearest avian vet is. Can you help me?
