You know it wasn't made by an actual boricua when they say it doesn't have enough salt or condiments in anyway. Specially in the rice!

I'm Puerto Rican and I found it so funny when they were like "I'm not tasting any spiciness" Puerto Ricans don't eat spicy foods AT ALL the spices give it flavor but it's not spicy😂😂😂 Mexicans eat spicy stuff... and if there was too much coconut in the coquito then someone doesn't know how to make coquito... coquito is supposed to be creamy... that drink looked like 50% of it was rum.

+TheOtherSideOfAlice most food on the mainland in restaurants can actually be pretty salty, so if it's homecooked style it's more likely to be oily rather than salty. but ya, always funny to me how they think it'll be spicy just bc the people who make it speak spanish lol

    • @Skswords825

I wouldn't really classify Haitians as Latin American though...idk to me they're more Caribbean, and Latin America is more Spanish-based I'd say. I know it's technically in Latin America but I think culturally and cuisine-wise they're more Caribbean. Because Cubans and Puerto Ricans don't really like spicy things, unless it's on potato and meat. Even then most I know don't, but they're more sweet-salty-savory based. I know Dominicans are next door but from the ones I know they kinda have close food to Cubans...I noticed Caribbean countries are more savory-sweet-spicy. Cause I know Jamaica and The Bahamas and Antigua like spicier foods as well.

Just to clarify, we are not like Mexicans. We enjoy some spicy foods but our foods don't consist of that type of pallet. No offense to Mexicans, I love them💍💕 All Hispanic cultures are different and special in their own way. and you better be proud to embrace it🔥 In my opinion, I don't think a boricua cooked those meals. To me, growing up, the rice was never tht "yellow" and the mofongo was mixed with shrimp, pork, chicken etc. And the coquito looked really liquidy. Its usually thicker. And one more thing... Yes, we are American territory, BUT WE DONT HAVE AMERICAN FLAVORS! Un poco de savon, adobo, la cosa verde que abuela tiene en la neveda, AND MUCHO more! Growing up with the music, and the dancing, and the rhythm, and adding those flavors it's like the cherry on top! It's made to make people happy!😊 YO SOY BORICUA! PA QUE TU LO SEPA!

Right! And the mofongo, someone said the the plantain was dry and I’m like, “Someone better give that man some of that juice from he pork to pour over!! Serve it to them right, come on now!” 😂

Sadie L I have seen piles of Coquito in some houses some even have pistachio, and you try to figure our which has more rum. But if anyone is nostalgic there is a restaurant in Orocovis, P.R. called el Navideño, they have all the food you eat during Christmas time all year. The place is really nice decorated and everything.
