    My Flash didn't work after all these steps but at least this gave me the frame work to start. The issue was with the setup of my specific flash📸. Thankfully it works now.

    Hi
    I have a Conon ESO 200 DSLR, and I am looking to contact a Neewer TT560 Speedlite Flash to the Camera. I have attached the flash to the Hotshoe, and tightened it up. When I select the 'External Flash Function Setting, I am getting a message saying 'Menu not available. Flash is off or unsupported, or an accessory is attached'. I have checked this, and the flash is switched on.
    Would this be a compatibility issue?
    Thanks

      +eshwar lokesh Hi there! Congratulations on entering the external flash world :) We proudly recommend the Altura Photo flash as it has many of the same features as an original flash. What makes it great is that it is reasonably priced without loosing its quality. You can check it out on our website :) digitalgoja.com/altura-photo-flash-w-pouch-stand-and-diffusser-for-canon.html

      Digital Goja how do u do viewfinder mode?

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  5 лет назад +1

      Hello Sami. "Viewfinder mode," is the standard shooting method with a DSLR camera. This would be where you are looking through the viewfinder of your camera to focus and compose the shot. Live view is when the camera's reflex mirror is locked in the up position, the shutter curtain is opened, and the camera's imaging sensor is activated so that you can view on the rear LCD display.

    Izzy, I have a T6. I photograph in manual mode in monochrome and up to this point, I've been photographing a lot at night without a flash. I've been able to pull off some really good photos without the flash in low light situations. But now I'm thinking I need a good solid flash. I went on Amazon and did some research. I was able to find a flash with a video support and in the video was you. My question for you is a simple one because I photograph with a T6 do you think Neewer NW-670 TTL Flash Speedlite is an overkill. By the way, you have helped me in the past with the lens and thank you. Please advice. Thanks, Rod

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  6 лет назад

      Hi Rod, the Altura Photo and Neewer flash units will both work great for your needs, although as you are shooting in manual a fully manual unit, that is cheaper than the TTL ones, would also work great.

    I am new to the Digital.. I have an old Rollei Beta 3 and a grip for my old SLRS.. well this will not work with a Canon 2000d. Is there a way to use a flash pistol grip with the Canon 2000d? • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  4 года назад

      Hello Jim Catanzaro. Unfortunately, the Rollei Beta 3 will not work on Canon's 2000D/Rebel T7 DSLR. Since this camera lacks the standard pin arrangement of most Canon DSLR cameras, you will need to use a dedicated flash. If you are looking for a flash with a similar Guide number as your Rollei Beta 3, we would recommend checking out the Altura Photo AP-305C flash. Its a compact TTL flash that works either on or off-camera. Here is a link to the flash: amzn.to/3iqblWB | #commisionsEarned. In you're case, If you want operate the flash off-camera there are two options. You can use your pop-up flash as the transmitter or you can purchase an additional AP-305c flash and have one on the camera as the Transmitter and one off-camera as the Receiver. Hope that helps. @Jim Catazaro Unfortunately, the Altura Photo AP-C1001 Flash and wireless trigger set are not compatible with the Canon 2000D. Hello Cayla L. Our apologies for the late response. Hopefully you were able to get an answer for your question. If not, we would still like to assist. Regarding the error message and your speedlite: Typically, most Canon cameras will display this message when you use a flash that is not manufactured by Canon. Now, it doesn't mean that the flash won't work in TTL/Auto, but it does mean that you won't have the same functionality in the in-camera menu for changing flash settings. Make sure to change your settings using the options on your flash. Regards.

    Hello fellow camera operators. I have Canon EOS Rebel ZSI & EOS 7D Mark II. When I attach the Speedlight NW610 to hot shoot to either camera & into the flash control external flash func. setting. Both camera's tell me "This menu cannot be displayed. Incompatible flash or flash's power is turned off."
    The power on the speed light is on & the speed light works without being synced to the camera. Can anyone give me any feed back as to why the speed light isn't syncing to my camera's.
    Thanks & best regards
    AJ Miller

      Hi, probably the software is not compatible.

      Meaning. Both camera's firmware needs updated?

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  6 лет назад +1

      The software of the flash unit is probably not compatible and up to date with the software of the camera.

      Can I assume there's firmware for the Speedlight NW610. I haven't researched this yet so that's why I'm asking since you've rapidly responded. Which I like & thank you for.

      We suggest you to contact the manufacturer of that flash unit, as we are not familiar with it.

    I dont understand , I have a 1200D , and I want to use the flash externally , so not being connected to the camera itself. How do I do that ???

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  9 лет назад

      +Jacques Bichler Hi Jacques, you have to shoot on full manual exposure, recommended starting point is ISO400 1/125 at F8 about 10-12 feet from subject.

    • @iceweasel2199
      @iceweasel2199 9 лет назад +1

      Thats fine , but the flash still doesn't work if it's not connected directly to the camera. It appears the 1200D doesnt have Wifi capabilities and the 430EX can only be used when mounted on the camera

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  9 лет назад

      +Jacques Bichler Hey Jacques, if you don't use a trigger set then you'd have to buy a speedlite transmitter or another flash like the 600exrt.

    When I attach my flash to my camera, it will fire only if it is set to manual on the flash with 1/1 power. When I try to adjust the flash control, I get a message saying "this menu cannot be displayed, incompatible flash or flash's power is turned off." is this a problem with the hot shoe?

      Hi Genz! Make sure to set the camera dial to video mode and start recording with the REC button above the screen. Please check the user manual for a detailed explanation about video mode of your camera: gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/8/0300022698/01/eos-rebelt6-1300d-im-en.pdf page 159.

    I don't usually use my viewfinder to take pictures I like to use the LCD screen but flash doesn't fire when I use the LCD screen on my Canon 60D.
    any ideas of how to fix it?
    Thank you

      Hi Carlos! As mentioned before, you will need to use your camera viewfinder if you want to use an external flash. The flash won't fire if your camera LCD is on.

      Hello Mhmed Badra. That's a bummer. Which flash do you have and what are the compatibility issues you are finding with it?

    My external flash no longer syncs with my Canon Rebel xti and I can't figure out how to get it to work. The internal flash works just fine, but the 580EX II won't fire when I attach it to my camera. I have a Canon Rebel xti and the only settings under my camera menu on the first page are Quality, Red-Eye, Beep, and Shoot w/o card. I don't see any options for flash settings. Also, my external flash will turn on but it just won't register from the camera. The pilot light won't turn on, either. Interestingly enough it works with the strobe but I just can't get it to sync with my camera.. :(

      Hi Sarah, we would recommend doing a factory reset on both, the camera and the flash.

      Hi Mike! Due to a firmware update, the Altura Photo E-TTL flash will only work in manual mode with the Canon 80D and Canon 5D Mark IV. Please send us your order information to info@gojasales.com and we will be more than happy to help you find a prompt solution.

      +Nicole Sartain Please turn your camera dial to M, this engages all the menu options of your Canon camera and can now access the flash control function.

    What does it mean when it says (menu not available. Flash is off or unsupported, or an accessory is attached

    • @DigitalGojaUSA
      @DigitalGojaUSA  5 лет назад

      Hello BIG J PRODUCTIONS. Canon cameras will typically produce this error message with some non-Canon branded flashes and all Universal (fully manual) flashes. This doesn't mean that the flash won't work, but that you can't use the camera's menu to change functions on the flash. For instance, If you own the Altura Photo AP-C1001 TTL flash for Canon cameras, the camera and flash will communicate to give you a properly exposed image but you won't be able to use the menu options in the camera to change settings. All changes must be done through the flash unit itself. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
