I was already sold when you mentioned dynamically linking, I’m running a crm on Airtable and the lack of this seriously limits how we use Airtable for crm. I’ll take a look at smartsuite.
Glad to help! I thought for the "wow" factor in the video I might want to bring that feature up last, but it was so vital that I just had to kick off with it.
Any insights into Airtable roadmap "catching up"? Great informative content and I agree with all points, but I'm invested in Airtable so cost would be high to switch. I also appreciate that you are going to do an opposite video and will be sure to check it out.
Yes to Dashboards, but they look a bit different. Dashboards in SmartSuite are a view that you can build, not an interface. SmartSuite does not have interfaces per se, but arguably doesn't need them due to the permission capabilities - you can limit what users see down to the table/field/view, so you have SO much control already that an interface isn't really necessary.
@@GarethPronovost if they widen the view when you open a row it could look like an interface. For our CRM interface in Airtable we can see all the details of the client in one window without having to scroll at all.
very confusing after watching both comparisons probably because you have a business relationship with both SS and Airtable and therefore prefer sitting on the fence.... you mention you use both SS and Airtable but at the same time praise the importance of simplicity so how is using 2 different solutions simplicity?
I think the point I was trying to make is that each tool has its own advantages over the other. It's common in no-code to store data in multiple places and access that data in a no-code front-end like Softr or Noloco. In this way, accessing the data is quite simple, and doesn't matter too much where you choose to build the schema.
I’ve been weighing both of them up and it’s the little things that still make Airtable better for me. The lack of bulk cut and paste into linked fields made things impossible. Waiting for Airtable to figure out filtered dynamic drop downs though.
I’m the same as you. Managing bulk data is still something SmartSuite needs to work on before I shift. I’m just glad you can cntr z to undo now with SmartSuite. It’s a huge shift for me to move so I’m going to wait.

Hi! Thanks for the video! Great stuff! Are there any solutions for Smart Suite like Softr for AirTable?
Yes, Softr integrates with SmartSuite as well!
Very helpful thankyou
Thanks for watching!
is this up to date? because i can set conditional filtering on fields now in airtable.
Airtable now added conditional filtering - this video was published before that feature was available.
@@GarethPronovost maybe you pushed them into doing it, good job

Airtable keeps it pretty close to the vest, so I haven't heard much about their plans for new features at this time.
Are we able to embed smartsuite and does it have the Interface or Dashboard functionality that AT does?

@@neb2612 exactly! I really like the layout of the records a lot
So will you be switching to SS from now on?
We've been using it, alongside Airtable, for some time now
The permissions in Smartsuite would be a main reason to switch from Airtable.
The permissions in SS are truly next level 👌

But you can use their airtable import tool, that will help with the migration at least.
Agreed that there are little things like this where Airtable offers a more user friendly experience. 👌
@@AmandaPentonOf I didn’t know about the Airtable import tool. Thanks, I’ll check it out
I think it all comes down to which company is paying you more to bash the other
We'll be releasing a video in the coming weeks taking the other perspective: what does Airtable do that SmartSuite doesn't
Yea! Sing the praise brother!!! @hellosmartsuite is great for the SMB folks
SmartSuite has come so far in such a short amount of time!
