    I'm excited to learn more about this tool. It looks really promising. Are you planning to switch over?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад +2

      We are still getting SmartSuite to make sure it can handle larger datasets in complex schema. We've had trouble with other software in the past, so we remain cautious. That said, it's incredibly promising so far!

    Thanks for this video. In my opinion the help article from smartsuite is not clear enough when it comes to linked records. You helped me to understand how to set the formula.

    Thanks for the really helpful videos. As a long time MS Access user, I'm looking at Airtable, Smartsuite and any other similar alternative. So far I'm really liking Smartsuite. Would you consider it a good replacement for Access?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад

      SmartSuite and Airtable both would be excellent replacements for Access. Similar schema, easier to use, and cloud based!

      As a former MS Access user, I really appreciate both Airtable and SmartSuite, but i prefer the lather due to it’s slick and easy user interface and excellent way of linking field data, both between tables (“apps”) and databases (“solutions”). Good luck!

    Looks really useful. Thanks for all the work.
    Small suggestion: it would be more useful if you showed real-life data. AirTable has templates that are dedicated to a particular real-life situation like task management or something. Does SmartSuite has templates of solutions?

    • @thomashartmann5037
      @thomashartmann5037 Год назад +1

      Yes! There are over 200 templates, with removable example data. We have just decided to go with SmartSuite for our prospect and customer follow up. We have earlier tried Airtable, Asana, Taskade and Trello, but feel this to be the best fit for our need.

    Can we do more than one logical conditions? i.e Sumifs

    Hi Gareth, thank you. this is great. I tried to reproduced (I have the exact same case). bu I get an error : ==: 'list of Facture' AND 'TEXT' cannot participate in an expression together.
    (I wish I could send you a screenshot..)
    My formula is. :
    SUMIF([Link to Tâches].[Facture]=="Yes",[Link to Tâches].[Total])
    To be noticed : when I select my link field, smarsuite adds "link to " in the field nam in the formula editor...
    Any clue ?

      Hi! This formula looks correct, so I'm stumped - have you reached out to SmartSuite directly for help? They are very responsive on their website.

    Is smart suit a replacement of Airtable in your opinion?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад +3

      Definitely a competitor, yes. We are still vetting SmartSuite for more advanced use cases to make sure that it doesn't break in complex scenarios. So far, it's passing with high marks 🚀

    I really like smartsuite but I am so invested in Airtable. What to do? I cant use them both and I cant decide if I should use it at all.

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  2 года назад +2

      Totally understood, we find ourselves in a similar situation for our internal tools/processes. I think the question to ask is, "are you stuck with Airtable?" If you can't do something that you want due to the software, but another software CAN do it, then it makes sense to adopt the other tool and/or switch. But if everything works as needed in Airtable, there's no immediate need

    • @TheRemyRomano
      @TheRemyRomano Год назад

      @@GarethPronovost I will certainly be considering SmartSuite for new projects, but some of my existing projects are so large and complicated that couldn’t imagine re-creating them in another tool, even with the obvious benefits.
      By the way, in Airtable‘s year in review that came out today, they indicate the two way sync was implemented. I don’t think I have it yet, that will be a game changer.

    It seems you still can't format the result of a formula - do you know if that is still something that might be coming?

    • @GarethPronovost
      @GarethPronovost  3 месяца назад

      I hope so, but I don't have any insider information about this one... 🤞

    Grrrrrrrr ... nine months later, still no added functionality on formula formatting. It's especially frustrating for percentages.

    What a hell the formulas with Smartsuite. Airtable is simpler and more efficient. Impossible to do a multiplication from the moment the song is linked. A hassle. Airtable does it easily. I have to take a business package for my company and well I think the choice is quickly made unless someone explains to me why these hassles that I encounter each time...
