Ozempic is semaglutide that is approved for diabetics. Wegovy is semaglutide that is approved for weight loss. They are the same drug, just different brands. I think that if someone's doctor prescribed it to them, it's valid. There are people who struggle with weight loss that don't have the same metabolism, hormone levels, etc. and genetics can play a big factor in how people gain weight and the level of activity and eating they need to maintain it. I try not to judge decisions people make with their doctors and this opinion feels like it is based in the loud minority (already thin celebs trying to be even thinner) rather than the normal people who are taking it under doctor supervision.

I’ve been on ozempic for 6 months now, and the only catch is that there isn’t one for people like me that truly need it. It alters how your body works for the better. I’ve never been full from eating in my entire life. This solves that. It’s more than about weight loss, it’s a much needed medication.

As someone who is 40 lbs overweight due to pcos and hashimotos. Its difficult when others judge thinking i dont try to loose weight by eating healthy or excerciseing. I know having ozemptic would help. But i also know that once i stop having ozemptic i would gain the weight back . Also the people who have ozemptic changes their apperance to sunken eyes. So i choose not too. That doesn't mean it would be helpful to others. What bothers me is thar it became a trend especially withing the rich and famous makinh it it more difficult for those that really need it to obtain.

I also have Hashimoto's. It took me about 2 years but I lost the extra weight. Just from thyroid medication, eating better and exercise. Then put it on again... so I am halfway through that journey again. It might be harder for us but it's possible. I think it's better than a quick fix!

Respectfully you are wrong on this. I was diagnosed with diabetes in January. My endocrinologist prescribed metformin and ozempic. In three months I was able to stop the metformin which has many side effects. My primary expects I’ll be able to stop taking the blood pressure med and the cholesterol med if my numbers all continue to improve. So taking ozempic vs three other drugs is a healthier choice. I feel so much better!

Same here! I have struggled with my weight my whole life and developed type 2 diabetes. I was on 2 different meds for my diabetes (one being metformin) and my primary doctor suggested trying ozempic. Long story short I'm now off several medications that I had to take due to the side affect of my diabetes along with the weight. All my blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels are normal! I have more energy which I have been using to get out hiking, lifting, and trying yoga. A never thought I would be a gym rat at 60!!☺

Ozempic isn’t for everyone - but you shouldn’t be the one to make that assessment a medical professional should
As someone who struggles with being very overweight, anxiety and significant food cravings. Working out and eating healthy wasn’t enough. I’ve tried it all it was the only thing that had worked
I’ve been off of it for a while now and maintaining my weight and had reset the cravings which allows me to eat in moderation and honestly it reset something because it’s been years since I could lose any weight especially after having children.
I will agree that some people should have never been on it or should have gone off of it after they met their goals with their doctors advisement but got addicted to the weight loss
That is where I wonder if there is enough oversight over the medication because it should have been used for medical purposes

Honestly Shelby, as someone who lost a family member who could have been saved had Ozempic been around when they were still alive, you just lost a long-time subscriber. Even if you are just talking about the people who are using it to lose a little bit of weight, you have no idea what their mental health is like or what other challenges they may be dealing with. Along with helping with obesity and diabetes, studies have shown that it could also help with binge-eating disorder or alcoholism. Side effects are also well documented and easy to research, you don't need to scare people more who have already discussed the benefits and risks with their doctor. I never thought you would sink as low as shaming other people's medical choices for views. This is coming from someone who is healthy and fit with no plans to hopefully ever need to use Ozempic, but I would NEVER judge or shame people for making what I imagine is an incredibly tough decision for their health. As someone who works in the mental health field, please reconsider posting a video that could make other people feel worse about their personal health decisions.

It is not a weight loss product. It is for people like me who have type two diabetes and who have had severe obesity since I was 10 yeard old. I have slowly and carefully lost a good amount of weight and my blood sugar is completely normal. My health in general is greatly improved. The depression that I had for most of my life is gone.I can walk down the street with pride and having no one making fun of me. I tried to lose this weight over 40 years and Ozempic has given me the means to lose it. Please be more
thoghtful when you criticize leople who use it to save their lives.I would hope you would have more compassion and do more research. Some people do abuse Ozempic but for me it was the answer to a desperately unhappy lifr and certain death at too early of an age.

Just my two cents: as someone who doesn't need ozempic for weight loss and as someone who isn't in the healthcare, mental health, or related field, I don't think your opinion on the matter is needed or helpful. I like some of your other commentary videos because they relate to you and your life choices from a personal perspective but this one is really not helpful (assuming your video is a firm stance on why this isn't a good choice). This is a topic that a person needs to discuss with their doctors. Until you hear from your doctor that you need to loose weight and you life expectancy is vastly reduced because of your weight you should reconsider posting your opinion. If your video was more of a commentary outlining the issues for and against, then I would actually watch that.

Im sorry but your take on ozempic is so short sighted. Yes it probably shouldn’t be used for non overweight people to be skinnier. But for overweight and morbidly obese people who have tried nearly everything to lose weight and with little success, it’s a godsend. Imagine someone who is 300 or 400 pounds and is bearing in diabetic. What life expectancy do you think someone like that has? Ozempic and these other drugs are going to give many many people the chance to be healthy and live longer lives. Might we learn about some negative down the line? It’s possible but what’s the alternative? Also Requiem was about taking basically speed to help lose weight, this is not the same thing at all. These medications are not Amphetamines, they are recreating naturally created hormones. It’s literally the same drug given to diabetics. To take the stance that medically overweight people shouldn’t take drugs like this when prescribed and monitored by medical professionals is ignorant and coming from a place of privilege.

I know you’re studying for the real estate exam and such right now. Just wanted to give you a tip that was given to me… I was told to do a two day prep class before the test. I wasn’t really remembering any information I was studying and thought I would not pass. I took a class from Real Estate Trainers and the way they walked us through portions of the test made it easy for me to pass. The way they phrased the questions was exactly how they were on the exam. I wasn’t finding that anywhere when studying on my own.
I took the two day class over the weekend and the next day, Monday, I went to take my test so the info was fresh. I passed first time no problems. Just thought I’d put that out there for you. This is not sponsored I just found it really helpful as someone who had no background in real estate before sitting for the exam. I feel the Always Pan is not necessarily safe. They list no pfas but the coating might still have health effects later on (like we found out later with other non stick). Even their Noco line is just "branding" as titanium itself is not non-stick so they must mix with something else that could be harmful. I think non-stick in any form is problematic. Cast-iron is even not safe as you can get excess iron loading in the body. Its hard to know what is even safe to use at all after researching. I feel Our PLace does a LOT of branding and not explaining the coating- they are made in China and I know the 2 manufacturers that make them.

Loved seeing Sam vlogging a little! I agree on Ozempic too! I’m old enough to have heard of so many weight loss drugs and after seeing my grandma who was very overweight lose and then gain back all the weight and then end up messing up her body so much she could barely eat anything for the last 10 years of her life. It’s not worth it! Exercise and good diet are better. Also, “I don’t know where the lime is, it must have rolled away” 😂🤣

Semaglutide (Ozempic) is actually approved as a diabetes medication and has changed the lives and helped many of my patients. It has weight loss as a side effect and celebrities (and plenty of regular people!) are definitely abusing it for exclusively weight loss I agree, but I hope your video will be mindful of the true nature and purpose of that medication. Wegovy is the same base medication and is a higher dose and is the one approved on the market as “a weight loss drug” so maybe that’s more of the angle that you will be looking at in your video. Looking forward to watching it to see what you have discussed 🙂

Yes, I'm actually approved to be on it as well. It's just interesting to see healthy people take a stance on it and they've probably never 1. talked to a doctor about it 2. will ever need a need for it. I think if people want to they can do what they want for themselves. Saying "I don't know what the long term effects will be" is silly since everything medical had to start somewhere and sometimes it doesn't work, but modern medical practices have improved the health of individuals for time to come. For example, neuro link, they're testing that now and if it works, it'll be amazing for quadriplegics, but there's always going to be some risk. That's how I see it anyway. Let adults make their own medical decisions.

@@twolala1 It's for both. It's been approved for obesity. It's not an angle. It's just a fact. Not only has it been approved as a treatment for weight loss, it's also true that obesity can lead to diabetes and that makes this drug also preventative. There are many drugs that are used to treat multiple things. Obesity is a disease and there is no hierarchy. Both deserve treatment.

This is why going down the route of commentary videos is tough. You started out with videos on things you were personally familiar with, and could do a little bit of research as well as present your point of view based on experience. The issue I think you’ll start to run into (and seemingly have already run into with this Ozempic idea) is that doing commentary videos in that format is not easy. Think about commentary channels who do hour long videos about different subjects, they’ll spend weeks researching and filming and often have teams helping as well. It seems like you’ve just been throwing on a camera and talking without a script for a bit and then posting it. I strongly suggest that if you want to truly get into the commentary niche, commit to it and don’t half ass it. You can’t just film a vlog, google something for 20 minutes and then setup your camera and talk about it when it’s a subject you don’t have personal experience/knowledge in. It’s just irresponsible. You could’ve literally made a 3 hour long commentary video if you wanted to with super in depth research into the background of the drug, what it’s intended use is, what possible other uses are, people abusing it, talking to people who have been helped/hurt by it, etc. But it sounds like you just tried to consolidate a very nuanced subject into a 20 minute chat you filmed real quick based on what you’ve heard about people using it in Hollywood. It’s clear by the comments in this video that I’m not the only one thinking like this, and I honestly would be completely on board with you dabbling into commentary videos more. I just think that if you want to do that, you need to really commit.

I believe I don't even know what Tiktok shop really is 🤔Personally I'm totally fine with you just posting on RUclips and doing Instagram stories, so no pressure. Most creators seem to just cross-post anyway.

I was just prescribed tirzepatide for insulin resistance, which means my body does not react to food the same as people without that. This means that I can work out and diet - and my body will still tend to store food as fat at a much higher rate, making it very difficult to lose weight by diet and exercise alone. It is the precursor to being diabetic, and diabetics greatly benefit from this medication existing also. I love your content and have been a sub for years and years but please do some more research before saying things like "i don't think anyone should take ozempic" -- it is an approved medication for diabetics, and if it (or wegovy, or moujnjaro, or zepbound) is being approved by someone's physician or insurance company for weight loss, there is typically a very valid reason for it. Insurance companies will not cover you for it if you don't need it, because they do not want to pay for it. But in this case, preventing someone from becoming diabetic is "less expensive" for insurance companies because diabetes causes SO many health issues and medical needs throughout someones life, even if they have to take it lifelong, its better for people to be on this mediation than not.
