Hmm... as for the grabbing comment, i did see that some enemies were actively dodging your grabs, unless they were in a flinching animation or in a guard stance. This applies for both the normal and wall-jump grabs.
Have you tried not using healing items during your first playthroughs? I had a really good time trying to beat Soma - maybe the most difficult boss in the series for me (considering that I don't use healing items on Hard). I am actually glad that encounters can be pretty challenging in this game (bosses really do a lot of damage) and you can't get overpowered in Lost Judgement, so bosses can beat you at least few times (provided you don't heal yourself) - something that didn't happen for me in any other games of the series.
