Dertray oh yeah you can still use it but some people might give you a funny look and correct you. But yes people will definitely understand what you’re saying.
Federer just has/had such a great serve. It’s a luxury to have a serve as great as his, at his height. I don’t know if this somehow made him so relaxed that he then became so graceful also. To me, there is nothing to explain how anyone could play this great, yet so relaxed. Everyone would like to play this great, or even look this great playing, but there is only one RF.
McDonald is surely one of the most talented US tennis players at the moment. I watched the match he played against Dan Evans of the UK at the Australian Open this year and I think his fitness/stamina let him down after being 2-0 in sets, and completely out playing his opponent. If he can stay injury free, I think, and hope, he does well when competitions resume.
htmlman1 in private practice maybe. This practice is more to get a feel of the court, I think. I’m sure Fed pays a lot more detail to his form and technique in the private and serious trainings.
This was when Federer had the back issues before the 2017 US open. Federer was only testing his back in this practice session. I was told he didn’t want to run down any balls or really try to hard due to the fact that his back wasn’t holding up very well. Roger is only going like 20% in this practice session.
dude everyone is learning, lay the fuck off the guy. as a community you should be supporting him. at one point you were in the same shoes - thats why practice is a thing you moron
Some may thing Federer isn’t training hard but from what I see, Federer is using this practice session as a way to analyze McDonald’s game. At this point, Mackenzie was a real threat on tour. There’s no reason for Roger to physically exert himself. Saving energy for the match.
ProTennisPhotos - thank you for all your uploads... these are great training tools! One observation on this and some other videos - I think they're edited a little too "tight", especially for point play, which is sometimes very quick. It feels like I don't get the chance to really observe the point play and it goes by too fast. I think leaving just 1-2 seconds extra before and after each transition will make it feel a lot smoother.
Maybe it’s the editing but for his standard I don’t think Federer looked very good here. There’s a court level video of the 2004 US Open quarterfinal with Agassi I watched a few days ago that was just insanely good hitting.
He was injured here, in his back. That’s why he skipped Cincinnati two weeks before. You can see in his serve how he’s almost not using his legs, only his arm. He is trying to protect his back.
15 months later he gives the world #3 a fight for his life in a photofinish 5 set match @aussies i didnt know mckenzie, but after seeing 3 balls of him form a 3 year old college match i researched him, he will be top 10 for shure,
I mean it's beyond relaxed; it's just lazy. Don't like to say it, but his play here is abysmal. You'd think the guy is outside the top 100. But he has so much raw talent I guess he can afford to be somewhat lazy in practice. He nevertheless plays like a god in actual matches.
Aleph Null man lol he isn’t even trying in this video and still beating McDonald. This is when he is just chilling, imagine when he plays super serious. Oh dear
@@DigitalAthlete He knew that at 15 beating my ass at the orange bowl in miami, he simply knew and you could tell he knew. Federer is like a Ferrari or Lamborghini -- he fine-tunes himself during these practices, rather than going all-out. In contrast, McDonald was putting a bit into the practice. Different pros practice differently; there is no one-size-fits-all method.
zach.ary. More like he's not putting full effort towards a practice match with some 100+ ranked player.. look at the speed of his serves and unforced errors.. he doesn't care!
He might use a pro stock racquet which is totally different than the retail racquets we normally buy. They just have the same paint jobs of certain racquets
I don’t like this racquet, 97”. Wilson had to made 95” on the base of the old frame for Roger. They thought more people would buy the bigger head size. Yes, if the racquet wasn’t bs.
Federer did well against the legend, Mackie Mcdonald
HA
Michel Ramirez yeah legend of nowhere hahaha
other way around son
Houston massage escort
Fish Buddy you obviously didn’t get the joke
Mackie taking it easy on this old man whomever he is
Dertray I don’t think they’ve ever played. Also nice new word you made up there. I might use it.
Dertray well you used the rules correctly, just not a word we use. But I’m sure you could get away with it online.
Dertray tennistically isn’t a word but you used the adjective form correctly. We just don’t have that for that word.
Dertray oh yeah you can still use it but some people might give you a funny look and correct you. But yes people will definitely understand what you’re saying.
Dertray you too man. And try not to use that word very often 😂
This Federer guy seems promising, a player to follow in the future.
This Federer guy seems pretty good. If he keeps this up he could win a grand slam one day.

fantastic quality; how i wish all videos on RUclips were so sharp; thanks!
Federer over there being chill while Mackenzie McDonald working hard
This Federer guy is alright, but he's no Mackie McDonald
What
Bruh, Federer hits every shot like he didnt use any power, but those rallies are faster than most amateur's practice pace
@9:28 is a good example showing that Roger is the most talented player of all time. The ease with which he angles that BH overhead is brilliant. FEDR!

Wow fed looks like a junior here against McDonald
Bodybuilding Fanatic cause McDonald is going at about 50% and Federer at about 5%
5:39 Federer hits 2-hander wooow
it looks also beautiful in 2-hander ahah
scrash landicoot nah it doesn’t

5:38 Federer two handed backhand
Man, is the best training match that I saw in this year.
10:29 when your first instinct is to hook the guy, but then you remember it's Roger.
Chris Nyholm just hook him anyway.
I thought I played the sport of tennis. Then I watch Fed and realize for 30 years I've played something else.
Hahaha ikr!
Great practice with Nishikori!
samshafique1 how you're getting 16 thumbs up is beyond me...
dick!
Some very amusing shots in this video, that cheeky forehand punt, that last brilliant drop shot defense to Mackie net rushing, really cool stuff!
These guys keep practicing like this and they may make it some day
It’s infuriating how easy Fed makes the game look.
You'll notice Fed sprays a ton of balls during his practice points/sets. He actually makes way, way more errors than in a 'normal' set.
This Federer kid looks like a NextGen star of the near future
I’m more afraid of Federer’s slice than top spin backhand.
6:41 who needs isner serve when u got mackie mcfckingDonald
When Federer practices, do you think he uses reference tapes of himself to perfect his form?

100% effort from McDonald, 20% effort from Federer
true
you know what's more scarry than his strokes?his understanding of the game/angles and spins/
My hitting partner played McDonald back in the junior tournaments. Those guys are still young. I'm old. 🤣
How exciting for Mackie to play against Roger. Very cool.

only this angle you can see how high the ball clear the Net. the over head angles you think the ball move really fast but its not the case

Not sure but I'd believe it. His lower back looks really stiff and uncomfortable.
Serve’s forme near the Kei Nishikori for Macdonald
What was going on with Fed that day lol
he was justing being a legend.
