(197) Finding A Smoking Gun (After A Fashion...)

Last week was an exciting one for Russ. For the first time in years and years, he coaxed the motor into turning over in Pearl, the 1977 Mobile Traveler motor home. But something was still amiss. He managed to get the engine to crank twice, but not a third time. So, this week he set about searching for a problem ... and he quickly found a big one in the most unlikely of ways!
If you are new to this channel, welcome. The MT and Me is not a "how-to" channel. It's more of a "what-he-did" channel. Russ is a lifelong radio broadcaster, not an auto mechanic or a carpenter. That isn't stopping him from rebuilding the Poor Pitiful Pearl of motorhomes, a 21' long, 1977 Class C Mobile Traveler, into the perfect home on wheels. These videos tell that story, along with a lot of other things that happen in his life alongside the work on The MT.
It’s the biggest project he has ever tackled, and he truly has no idea what he is doing. His only assets are the official shop manual for a 1977 Dodge van, his wife Rie, and the comments and suggestion of viewers like you on this RUclips channel and Facebook.
