7 years I’ve had this soldering iron and it’s only worked marginally. Shoulda looked for this vid 5 years ago. This adjustment just turned this thing into a beast of a tool! Thanks Brian!
For those new to using these with the cutting and soldering tips make sure to rotate the stem with the hole away from objects you dont want damaged when you see the ceramic glowing there is extreme heat emitting from that hole. If youre cutting foam or other objects that melt easily make sure that is located on the opposite side of the project.
Thanks for posting this!! I've had mine for several years now and didn't realize you could adjust the flame adjuster. As soon as I saw your video I tweaked mine and now it works much better.

Nice. I've had the same model for over 10 years years.. I bought it for one difficult solder repair and never used it since.. I just pulled it out of the draw again, and it's still full, but i forgot how to use it.. LOL, Thank You.
I found a brand new one of these in my drawer,,out of package and had no idea what it was or how I got it. After studying it,,I filled it and got it started with a lighter. And now I am here,,seeing that I did it correctly. I only have the small point tip but that will work.
Thanks a bundle - after several years of occasional use, mine decided to go out of adjustment. Without your video I’d have probably just bought another one.
Very helpful video. I’ve purchased two of these and neither one of them are working either I don’t hear the gas at all or like yours there’s flames shooting out the sides = me melting shit or burning shit down. I just bought the TS 500. I hope it works out better. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for making this video! i have one with a red button and the stupid thing had the smallest flame from the factory it was useless until i saw how to turn up the flame in this video. good shit. now mine is awesome!
Mine so old it doesn’t even have an outer ring. I got the red switched version with the plastic instead of metal handle. Surprisingly mine still works though, however it’s confusing lighting it because after you drop down the bed the flame would go out but I didn’t realize that it was still on
I like this little toy use it all the time; I cannot figure out why they did not place a fluid gauge onside, you have no idea whats in tank. I have 99 cent grill lighter with a gauge on side
Ok so my first qustiok is like you said in the begining of this video the bernxomatic pencil torch myne has a red switch im diying to no cus ive been wondering for sevral years now is ther a difrence like at all between the one with the red switch and the one with the blue switch ??? I mean any difrence i dont care how small if thers any at all id aoreceat it vary vary vary much to here what it is pleas im begging you guys pleas let me here it if ther is allso does one of them get hotter than the other??? Mine seams to have air in mine and it will turn off after 5orsayseconds and won't light again for a while. I can hold a big flame close to the tip won't stay on. I'm close to just buying a new one
Hey ok i have the same one but my is not even lighting , but it does have spark ive tried to use a lighter like you had shown but as soon as i put a tip on it will smother out it works fine if no tip is on it but as soon as i put one on doesnt matter which one it goes out and wont light untill all tips r off and it just like a torch. PLZ HELP THANKS ANYBODY THAT CAN HELP AND TRIES TO
redline 30 I will ask a stupid question but I'm trying to help. Did the tips come with the torch as a set of purchased separately? I ask because thought the tips may appear the same and appear universal they are not. Tips must be matched to the model of torch you have.
Doing this just fcked my torch in had for years. DO NOT MESS WITH THIS WITHOUT THE WARNING OF COMPLETELY MESSING UP YOUR TORCH. So instead of a small issue it's now complete trash..

How do you fill it with gas
Mine was the exact opposite...1 was so weak it couldn't stay lit and 4 was barely visible.

This thing is trash . I light it up and once the tip goes down it turns off and keeps on wasting gas.
