Here we are back in MCU with Ant Man. I don't know what I expected from this movie but it exceeded any expectations! Enjoy another banger! Please Subscribe, Like, Comment and Share! Tell your friends!
While the ants you see walking around the yard don't normally have wings, certain ants will be born with wings when it comes time to establish new colonies. These ants will fly to a new area and establish a new colony and when that colony grows and becomes established the process repeats. Termites also do something similar. I think the main reason this is a benefit is that flying allows them to get far enough away from the original colony that they won't be competing for the same resources. It's also the reason invasive ant species can colonize new areas so quickly; they can cross rivers, make it to islands, etc,
Ant-Man can Alter his size, communicate with ants, and has super strength (as an ant can carry 10-50x their body weight). That's why when he hits someone when he's small it's like a full blown force. Also as an actual educated engineer he's extremely intelligent an intuitive. He's got a few more tricks up his sleeve, but yeah Ant-Man is pretty powerful.
Fun Film Fact: Thomas The Tank Engine was only allowed to appear in the film if he was not used to kill/hurt someone...I think what they did with it was genious LOL great reaction, bro!
During certain times of the year there are specialized ants that are female that are born with wings to take them far from the original colony. One of these in whatever location they choose will become queen and the rest will lose their wings or just die off. So ANTony was actually ANTtonia. Ants are truly amazing creatures.
Male ants (which are rare) are also born with wings. When mating season arrives, the ants push their newborn queens outside to fly. The males take off in pursuit. We don't understand the exact trigger, but all the ant nests in the area will somehow pick the same day. So male and fertile female ants from all the colonies for miles around take to the air at the same time in mating flights. So chances are very slim that the females become impregnated by males from their own colony, thus ensuring genetic diversity. All the impregnated females will then go try to find a home to start a new colony of their own as a new queen.
15:40 you're adorable lol! The Thorax is the middle body segment of the ant. As to what ants have wings... Almost all kinds I think provided they are in the right life stage. Unmated queen ants and the males have wings. When it's the right season they all leave the nest to mate, the mated queens build their own colony, and the males whose job in life is over die.
I love that Marvel often makes it super obvious when a child is a future superhero. They have a certain spunk and independence. You'll meet another little girl like this in Captain Marvel. Most of the ants you see are worker ants. Sexually mature ants (queens and drones) have wings. Wasps are related to bees, but very different. Most bees are sexually immature females (worker bees) and there is only one queen in the hive that lays eggs. Wasps are larger, meaner, and all of them are capable of sexual reproduction, so a wasp nest is organized very differently from a bee hive. Also, wasps eat very different things from bees.
There were a bunch of production problems with this one. Edgar Wright was the original director and they wanted to have Ant-Man a part of the original Avengers. But Wright left the project due to lack of creative control he was given. The movie was put on the shelf for a while. Peyton Reed stepped in and did a fine job. Paul Rudd is the greatest casting ever.
It's a great underrated MCU movie. Glad you liked it! Hope becomes the Wasp hence the sequel name. Looking forward to your future MCU reactions and other non-MCU reactions!
I'm a big fan of letting people watch and form their own opinion of films... but with you asking specifically about DC films, I will say this: Marvel started connecting their films into the MCU with Iron Man, and Hulk, around 2008. That first end credits scene with Tony Stark at the end of Hulk changed everything. Marvel spent the next few years connecting into a larger story that revealed itself in the first Avengers film. That film worked so well because it had a series of interconnected films with character history already detailed out for each hero. The audience as already invested in their individual stories and cared about what happened to them. This allowed the Avengers team-up film to split up the screen time between them, and still tell an engaging story. DC saw the success that Marvel was having and frankly tried to rush things on their end. They tried to jump to the team-up movies without the years of connected films that lead up to it. That is here I feel DC really faltered. I really anted to like all the DC stuff, but there is some pretty glaring issues with many of their films in the 'DCEU'. They are still watchable and enjoyable though. Just, in my opinion, nowhere as close to the quality of the MCU films. I tried to keep that entirely non-spoilery, and hopeful. I know there are a lot of DC fans that still enjoyed the hell out of the DCEU films themselves. I guess its different for each person.
MCU movies get hate because they're popular and people like to be different. Not to say there is never any fair criticism, but there's not really a bad movie imo
It's hysterical how blown away you were by Paul Rudd. He's America sweetheart lol the Internet has been going crazy about how he's a vampire that never ages lol. He's cool too. He's so funny. You should watch Hot Ones. Where they eat atomic hot wings. He's so funny
Great reaction! 😊 Congratulations on finishing Phase 2 of the MCU. Phase 3 is the best Phase so far. I love this movie! This movie has one of my favorite opening scenes. Explaining Hank Pym's history with Howard Stark, Peggy Carter, and SHIELD. Paul Rudd is fantastic as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man. And I love Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. 22:59 - 24:27 One of my favorite scenes from this movie. Love that we got to see Sam Wilson aka Falcon. And then Luis telling his story at the end. Love it! Luis is such a great character. Up next: The beginning of Phase 3 starting with "Captain America: Civil War". Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊
Loves this movie, it surpried me. Paul Rudd is great in this role! but the one after this? Top 3..easily. Captain America:Civil War..can't wait for that one! 🙌🏾

Anyway, I dont know if you're aware, but when people are excited, they tend to type quickly, and no, they don't always double check their spelling. Luckily, we can always count on the grammar police to have nothing better to do than notice these things and correlate internet grammar with the way one would actually write an essay in real life. One thing worth checking out in DC is the "Peacemaker" TV series. It was written and directed by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), and it's VERY "R-Rated"... You think James Gunn is funny w/ his Guardians of the Galaxy shit?... now make that shit R-Rated! (React to "Peacemaker!") Also, a funny story about "Marvel vs. DC" (no spoilers)... Years ago, before "Batman vs. Superman" came out, DC made a big deal about announcing their "next big movie" - "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" and locking down a release date. Marvel tried to one-up them by picking the same date and saying it was going to be "Captain America 3"... There was a LOT of speculation about which studio would "blink"... (which would move their movie's release date - because it would hurt the $$ earning for both movies if they shared a date)... The big speculation was that DC wouldn't want to move, because it would make them "look weak" compared to Marvel. And everyone was figuring that Marvel was "throwing Cap 3 on the fire," assuming it would lose big $$, but would be worth it to hurt the box office earnings for Batman v Superman (because there was NO way Cap 3 would do better than "Batman v Superman"... how could it?)... This back-and-forth went along for a few months, until Marvel released their movie's title... "Oh, yeah... Captain America 3? ... It's gonna be 'Captain America: Civil War' ."... And everybody went ape-shit! Because everyone knew that the comic mini-series "Civil War" was half the Avengers led by Cap fighting half the Avengers led by Iron-Man... In Movie terms, Marvel just indirectly said, "Oh, yeah... Cap 3? ... that's gonna have fucking Robert Downey Jr. in it." DC immediately moved the release date of "Batman v. Superman"... It went from them thinking they could absorb the small hit on their profits that "Cap 3" would have hit them for, to them suddenly realizing if fucking IRON-MAN was in "Cap 3," then Batman v Superman won't just lose money... it will not make as much as "Cap 3"... (Which, by the way, it didn't... Batman v Superman made like $850million, and Civil War made like $1.2 billion!)... THAT'S how you win a game of "release-date chicken!"
Have to prepare you. DC Justice League tried to do what Marvel did in all of ten years, in only one movie. There was many issues with the DC movie, including director after director after director quitting. But Warner Brothers didn’t want to let the IP go because they knew there was potential to make money and if they didn’t do anything with it they’d lose the rights on those characters. There are some good RUclips videos that go over the problems that occurred with DC Justice League. So when the movie finally was made, they didn’t give nearly enough time to delve into the characters like Cyborg or Aquaman and the writing was bad. They also ended up with two versions and scrapped the Snyder version (which fans said actually explained things better). You can get that version some where I think. The only movies made afterwards was Aquqman, which should have been made first, and Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman 1984 however was a flop. And Aquaman 2 is plagued by the Amber Heard and Johnny Deep fiasco. Not to mention Ezra Miller (Flash) and his mental issues on full display (child kidnapping, assault, hitting another woman, robbery, child grooming, and more). Just be prepared. Also, Green Lantern was another DC flop even though it starred Ryan Reynolds. See Dead Pool 2 end credits for a correction on it.
Cozen thank you for this I didn't know all this happened I mean the Amber Heard thing yes since that was everywhere. But I didn't know about the Flash. I was really hoping DC was going to be good

If not, you definitely have to do that before you start the DC journey even though it's not canon with the Justice League

If this feels different then the average MCU movie, it's because the writer spent ten years making the script great
