    Absolutely bonkers that games like this don't come with a sheet that tells us how they envisioned everything to be stored. Thanks for the video!

    • @wybird666
      @wybird666 Год назад +3

      Yeah, why. They've gone to all the effort of ensuring everything has a place, and then can't be bothered to tell us!

      This is something that is tragically missing across the board game community. These games come out with specialized inserts that clearly have a purpose, and then just leave you hanging to figure it out

    Thanks for this. I couldn’t find any other Reboxing video that didn’t have the acrylic tiles in it, so I’m grateful for the help!

    In my little tray I gave the mine, ship, and castle tiles each their own trough. The extra space means they will lay over a bit so it's easier to see what you're grabbing. Then the empty trough was used for discarding the unsold tiles at the end of a phase, since we were short on table space. Do wish that little tray was a sturdier build though if it's meant to be out on the table during play.

    After getting through 4 different vids where creators either didn't know how to fit stuff in the box, and tried to figure it out on the go, or told me to get rid of inserts to make the room for zip bags I finally got to yours and it's absolute banging. Thank you very much good sir for helping me to sort it out. I've kept a thin foam insert that was on top when I first opened the box to hold my gameboard. (also long sentences ftw)

    I really liked your re-boxing solution, I reorganized mine following your advice, I have a suggestion or two to make. Use the small tray where you have space left to place not only for the blue hexes (ships) and burgundy hexes (castles), add on all the hexes with black back since they need to be separated anyhow when playing the game. You can also fit the hexes that belong to expansions there. This will make your set up easier and those hexes will fill the 2 empty slots nicely, not too loose or too tight.
    The other suggestion I have is to place the 12 bonus tiles in the slot between the plastic colored turn order markers and the 4 round 100/200 victory point tiles, they fit perfectly in that slot. place the 4 cardboard victory point markers with their acrylic bases attached inside the small compartment that is next to the two rows of square brown plastic Goods tiles.

    So the pieces fit better if you swap the standees and the bonus tile (the ones that look kinda ticket shape). Place those bonus tiles upright with long edge down between the first players markers and the 100/200 tokens.. there a notch on the side to pull them out!.

    • @GeneralDibs
      @GeneralDibs Год назад +1

      Yeah that's how I have mine packed too. The bonus tiles fit nice and snug between the first player markers and points tiles. And the assembled standees fit okay in the other spot

    Cool Video. I just started to organize it. In the smaller tray you have got some extra space left which could possibly be for some expansion Hexagon tiles. In my German rulebook Page 3. are shown 4 Hex-tiles of exp.2 and 9 Hex-tiles of exp.5 (white castles).
    I have never played the game yet and don't know if its a problem to have them allready in the bags if you want to learn the basic rules with just basic game tiles.
    I love the quality of this massive Box of a game and i think it's well thought through but pictures of the packed Inlays in the rulebook would have been nice. I can't imagine how they didn't think of it.
    Thank you for your video.
    I hope my english is enough to understand.

    Thanks for the video! Very helpful. I bet you’d be able to store vertically with all the material flush against each other. Doesn’t seem to be extra space (air) in the box. Also, try using the styrofoam frame for the game board.

    I like to store the "web" for the duchy boards underneath a stack of one of each of the 30 boards and on top of all the other boards to better facilitate everyone getting a unique board.

    Most sensible organising video so far for the base pledge with minis (and no acrylic), thanks. I agree, a photo or something of how the publishers intended is needed, when the trays are obviously designed with a certain configuration in mind. Re: the little standees - I assume they are for those that opted for the 'no-minis' option?

    • @SolooperativeGames
      @SolooperativeGames  Год назад

      I think all kickstarter versions include the minis for the 4 player colors and the 16 castles. But its possible the retail edition won't have those and will require the cardboard standees to keep score.

      @VoiceofFox Год назад

      @@SolooperativeGames I’m in the UK and the base pledge for me was definitely without minis, as I added that later for a small amount of €. It may have been just the castles though.

    • @JELIFISH19
      @JELIFISH19 Год назад +1

      I put the lids on the bottom 2 layers since those hold the most weight. I suspect that it shipped with lids on the top layer for protection during shipping. There was barely anything in the bottom layer when it shipped so there was nothing to protect.

    So unbelievably frustrating that they didn't make the box fit all the content without lid lift, even with just the base non-acrylic pledge. It needed to be like 3mm taller. 3mm! The box lid is supposed to be supported on the *edges* by the *sides of the bottom half of the box*, not in the *middle* by the *manual and gameboard*. Now carrying it is going to wear on the actual game components, the lid is going to warp, and if you stack anything on top of it it'll press down onto all the components too. Argh!
    Since that top split tray is kind of an eyesore anyway, I'm probably going to end up tossing it and just baggying all the bits that are supposed to go in there. Maybe that'll buy me back the 3mm it needs.

    • @chrishillery
      @chrishillery Год назад

      So I actually ended up pitching the tray that holds the castle minis and big stack of duchies instead. I kind of tossed the minis in the deep well of the split tray along with two of the hex bags, and put the duchies and other two hex bags on top with the manual and board. With that, the box closes totally flush and everything is still reasonably well sorted.
