- An annular solar eclipse will occur on October 14, 2023, and cross North, Central, and South America. Its path will enter parts of the United States, Mexico, Central America and South America. Millions of eclipse observers will be able to witness annularity or the partial phases of this eclipse. The antumbra shadow enters the United States in Oregon and crosses diagonally over the northeast corner of California and through Nevada, Utah, and Texas. Some well-known cities or places of interest in the path of annularity include: Crater Lake National Park, Four Corners National Monument, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Roswell, Odessa, Midland International Air & Space Port, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi. The path continues into Mexico (Yucatan Peninsula), crossing Belize, Honduras and Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama before entering South America at Colombia and Brazil. The eclipse departs over the Atlantic Ocean. Although annular solar eclipses do not bring the same fanfare as total solar eclipses, they are still unique with their "ring of fire" in the sky.

I was in Idaho for the 2017 total... going to Beaver Utah this Oct 2023, and will be in Texas for the 2024 Total.
