Hi! For those who may be wondering why this episode popped up in the middle of the pathfinder wotr playthrough, fear not, our character is alive and all is well, I just have not been able to record these days (bit more info in the community post) - we should be back on track in the next few days. In the meantime, enjoy some system shock :p
You die in real life if you die in game? Wow this game is hardcore! The intro was really cool. Figuring out the puzzles and other ways to progress in these immersive sim type games is the best feeling. Should be a fun one.
Richard :D How are you friend? I still have to play System Shock 2 at some point eheh I imagine if you liked the original System Shock 1, you probably liked the second one even more? Tell me your secrets
@@CoredumpedGaming I'm delighted you remember me all the way back from Dishonored. I've been lurking through Pillars of Eternity without making many comments. But this is something I have to comment on. My secrets are as follows (if this follows the original game). Remember the numbers. Skulls aren't important but heads are.
Fun puzzly game. The best part about it in my opinion is the puzzles and exploration as the combat can feel a bit basic. Really enjoyed it overall though!
Closer to say that Deus Ex has System Shock vibes given that this preceded Deus Ex by a few years. Not least that this is the first game to use 451 as a door code, as it was the door code of the Looking Glass studios office, which in turn was chosen because of Fahrenheit 451.
That's some very cool piece of trivia lol about the 451 code, did not know that :D I suppose you are right in saying that Deus Ex has System Shock vibes. For me it was the other way around because I played Deus Ex first eheh
@@CoredumpedGaming What can I say? I'm old enough to have played some of the Gold box games first time around. Mere 90s games were generally played in order.
If you ever played ultima games, way way before the baldur's gate games , there were a prototype of this style of game in a Ultima dungeon crawler. Like ark fatalis.
I tried Ultima Underworld because I learned that's where Arx Fatalis got a lot of its inspiration and I absolutely love Arx Fatalis, but I was having a bit of trouble with the controls so I ended up not playing it too much :(
I didn't know people made that analogy, but I can definitely see the inspiration for it. Prey was one of the games that surprised me the most in recent years. I went into expecting mostly just another sort of generic shooter and was very very happy with what it ended up being. Became one of my favourite games of all time, even if I'm not that much of a fan of the "space movement in low gravity" gameplay sections.

42:00 noooo, you already had it 😅. Haha, getting watched while solving puzzles.
Work from both sides and only one direction on the input node. (For other people playing)
Tiny brain puzzle solver of mine :D
@@CoredumpedGaming Happy New Year Core Dumped!
Happy new year friend :D

The game is a pretty enjoyable experience in my opinion. Exploration and puzzles being the highlights while the combat can feel a bit basic at times.
Excellent! I loved this game when it first came out and played it multiple times. I'm looking forward to this.

Wow. Thats an unexpected surprise . in a good way😊
Never played these games, although I've heard good things too. Should be fun!

What is better, puzzles like this or Owlcat puzzles? >:D
Lool hey Silverkiss :D definitely puzzles like this ^^
Yes. The game was originally made by the same games that made eventually deus ex games, and deus ex like. Imersive sim genre .
Yeah, I think it is noticeable the way the player explores the game and interacts that it shares some of those really cool elements :D

@CoredumpedGaming Also about Pray. This game is sort of considered to be System Shock 3, or atleast a spiritual successor.
