  • Did you know that Texas has a Thru-hike/trail? The Lonestar Hiking Trail (LSHT) is a 92 mile trail that meanders east to west along the Sam Houston National Forest, and 128 miles if you include the hiking loops. It is the longest continuous footpath in the state of Texas. Camping is allowed along the trail except during hunting season. #LSHT #hikingadventures #hikingwithdogs #thruhike

    Let me know if you knew we had a thru-hike in Texas. It’s usually a long trail that is hiked in one attempt.

    Good morning Jennifer. Very nice trail. It would be pretty neat if Texas had border to border hiking trails. East west or north south. I bet you it would be a destination hike for a lot of people. Thank you for the tour and information. Hope you're having a good weekend.

    Hi Jennifer. Copperhead are out here also. I've seen a few on the gravel roads in our area, usually about dark. A lot of hiking trails in Arkansas. Most take more than three days. I would have to Google through trails. Nice video.

      Thanks! I finally put up a pinned comment explaining the thru/through trails. They are long trails where people attempt to hike the entire trail in one go. Thanks for always commenting Tracy. I appreciate it.

    KY has the Sheltowee Trace Recreational Trail from TN border to Ohio border in Boone National Forest in Eastern KY. Been on a few sections and just beautiful in mid-October. Goes through sections of arches and waterfalls and mountain vistas. State Parks and camping included.

    Hi Jennifer, no I had no idea there was a Thru-Hike Trail in Texas nor did I know what that meant until today. Goes to show you can learn something new everyday. I have never been in such a narrow trail before and that would make me nervous if I was by myself, at least you have your trusted poodles to defend you.

      @poodleprofessor  20 часов назад +1

      Yeah, I was kind of nervous in that high brush. Thanks Belinda!

    Cool hiking trail.👍Pacific Crest Trail is the one in California. 2650 miles. There is a cool trail that runs from Mineral Wells to Weatherford but its only around 20 miles long.

    I've been wondering if those beauty berries are edible, they're all over Memorial Park here in Houston. Saw a recipe a few weeks ago that includes them in the Chronicle, so I guess they are. I tried to include the link but YT doesn't like it, apparently.
