      @Laurent's Choice I know you said you prefer the aorus master over the b650e-e but the cheapest I can find the master is still $90 or just over $150 above the e-e. Is it really that much better if you don't care too much about the pcie 5.0 slots?

    • @Laurentschoice
      @Laurentschoice  Год назад +1

      Truth be told, if you can find it at below 400 go.for the aorus... if not... the Rog B650e-e is the only rational way to go

    • @Laurentschoice

      Seems like aorus are jacking up their prices or what ?

    • @Laurentschoice

    Great review, in a month I'm gonna start my first new build since I went 8700k in 2018. Staying clear of Asus, works well but hate the some of the Asus specific software. This Aorus Master looks like the board I will choose. A question on the M.2, if I decide to use only 2x M.2, putting them in the far left and right slots, I guess that's slots A and D according to timestamp 06:51, then there is no bandwidth sharing? Cheers

  • @vipr0359
    @vipr0359 Год назад +1

    There's a error in the video at 6:58. The bottom 2 (left ones in the video) slots are the ones that share bandwidth with the GPU, not the middle two. According to the circuit diagram the M2A_CPU and M2D_CPU slots don't share it, while the M2B_CPU and M2C_CPU slots do share it.

      @@Bumpy1364 Also keep in mind that Laurent's argument, that it's not that bad because it still runs at PCIe 5 speed is not really valid, since pretty much all GPUs only support PCIe 4 anyways. Also the early BIOS Versions of this mainboard have significant problems, so if you get this board, make sure to update BIOS instantly. Other than that I'm happy with this board.

      @@vipr0359 yo thanks for the hint. I was also quite confused about using 1st and 4th slot, because it just seemed so weird :D
      And yeah in the end it doesn't really matter if it runs "just" on 8x 5.0, that is the same bandwhich as 16 x 4.0 anyway.

    I am bouncing between TUF x670E-plus wifi and this board. Aorus would cost me 50 euros more, but i really like the aesthetics more on this one. Pairing with 7800x3D, 4090 and simply just for gaming purposes. I think i´m leaning towards this one since i can get it at 340 euros.

    just one thing I looked it up in the manual. the lowest two M.2 slots share the bandwidth with PCIe 16 and not the middle two like in the video.

    • @romanpirschel3053
      @romanpirschel3053 Год назад

      Yes you are right, lowest two...however please help me to understand, if I populate the 3rd m2 slot with pcie 4.0x4 ssd, manual said pcie 5.0x16 will be reduced to 8x. Will it affect also Current GPUs as they are pcie 4.0x16 ??? In other words will it reduce pcie 4.0 gpu to half as well resulting in pcie 4.0x 8 ? Will I have full pcie 4.0x16 even when populating 3rd M2 slot ?
