In my opinion, mental illness is a highly stigmatized health problem compared to many medical illnesses! The stigma against mental health here is founded on the complex cultural and social factors, which resulted in negativity towards mental illnesses, instead of the misuse of the place by colonialists, unlike the example in Kenya! I would say , the stigma against Amanuel hospital is not established by the misery the Italian invaders caused to Ethiopia during the invasion! However, I strongly agree we are frustratingly submitting to the western influence as a society due to which Ethiopia needs passionate, hard working, committed and exceedingly professional young citizens who love their identity like Rediet and the interviewers, in every discipline to bring us back to be ourselves!
