_Finally,_ a RUclips photographer that gets it. The whole point of Fujifilm cameras is SOOC JPEGs. If you're just another RAW Dog stick to the boring world of Canikony and staring for hours and hours on end at a screen tweaking pixels and stuff that no one will ever notice. In the meantime, Fujifilm shooters are out in the real world telling stories with their cameras.
I've done lots of trips where the only camera I've brought was an X100 series camera (X100T -> X100F -> X100V -> X100VI) and I've never regretted it. I've just accepted that if I need wider, I'll shoot a pano, and if I need closer that I'll crop. Either that, or I'll shoot what I can and live with it.
I posted a few pictures from mine on social media using the Kodak B&W simulation and another recipe and this woman I know asked if I was professional and if I’d do a photo shoot with her kids. That made my day.
Give the nerdy settings details of those killa photos plz.. your buddy framed those photos perfectly.. I still haven’t found good settings for shooting landscape stuff in NZ
Loved the shots you both took with the camera. It’s interesting that limiting your camera can increase your creativity. Looking forward to your next video.
No edit/ minor edit workflow really improves my photography. I took a lot more and shared more photos with my fuji. My photography improved a lot more as a result.
I liked watching this review because I’m a mountain hiker who’s been weary of a fixed focal length for tough hikes with rewarding views. I’m eager to taking my x100v on a hike. What’s the film simulation used in the shot at 5:38? Cheers from Seattle!
It is…I think. It’s hard to explain, because it is metal but it doesn’t feel metal in the same way my x100f does… it’s not cold to the touch, the finish is overly sleek and kind of plasticky, it’s strange!
because it takes photos in a 3:2 aspect ratio and video is a 16:9 aspect ratio and I don't want to crop them? so I think it looks better at 92% of scale with a small white border
I have to admit, I was disappointed that they moved production to china and that the capacity seemingly hasn't improved that much either, it's still really hard to find one in stock!

Such a good feeling!

video coming about that very soon!
Loved the shots you both took with the camera.

Incredible shots! Would love to see what settings you use if you don’t mind?
of course! I have a video breaking down all the settings and film simulation coming out soon! I used Reggies' Portra recipe

I agree, think that this is the way forwards for me too!

Thank you! The Fujifilm excels in those scenarios I think, you’ll have a lot of fun with it hiking! Film simulation was Reggie’s Portra recipe 👌
@@gabrielbailey802 agreed! He’s got several Portra recipes, which one did you use for that shot?
Hello Gabriel … what’s your opinion about FUJIFILM XT30 ll for Streetphotography and for Travel Photography ?
I think it's an excellent choice!
Is there any softening while using built in nd filter?
Not that I can see!
Fantastic video
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Very good video!
Glad you liked it!
Did you take any videos on it? How was the IBIS?
I did! IBIS is awesome! I have another video on my channel all about shooting videos with this camera
@@gabrielbailey802 Amazing thanks so much! And great shots too!
Great Video!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
What film similarion on this series of photos?
Good question, video breaking down the film simualtion coming soon! but spoiler alert, it's Reggies' Portra
@@gabrielbailey802 Haha wonderful. That's my default on my x100vi too. Good looks man, thanks for the reply!
Nice Video! What’s the film simulation at 3:55?
Thank you! It was Reggie's Portra
Love mine, but being in Atlanta I've had mine overheat more than once.
ouch! what do you primarily use it for?
@@gabrielbailey802 Street photography, so I carry it around with it being on for hours on end.
Great video 🦾🦾
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
As a Canon shooter, did you consider the R8 + 28mm pancake for a similar size / weight / focal length / price?
I’ve been on the fence about the 28mm to use with my RP, but for some reason I just haven’t pulled the trigger!
Thats cool you were able to get some photos of yourself. Now you made your friend want a camera you cant get lol
hahaha I know, it's a cruel world
I thought the casing was supposed to be metal. ??

Why are all the photos taken by Fujifilm x100vi being shrunk and has white borders in ALL THE RUclips VIDEOS that reviews this camera ?
because it takes photos in a 3:2 aspect ratio and video is a 16:9 aspect ratio and I don't want to crop them? so I think it looks better at 92% of scale with a small white border
@@gabrielbailey802 if I took video will it be full 1080p resolution without white bars? (I’m doing research before pulling the trigger on a resale vi)
hey! yes of course, it'll be 4k/1080p depending on your settings, with no white bars! I've got a video on my channel about shooting video with it
Your video is too dark for me
Agree! sun was going down too quickly 😅
Use a flash light, pal
No, The X100V is the legendary not the Made in China X100VI !
