When I was a little kid I loved watching my parents play this game. It was like they were kids & they enjoyed it. The sweetest thing about it was that they’d play and I thought it was the best nights ever when they would play & as a grown adult now, my dad told me that they’d play when they were broke & couldn’t afford to go out. I never knew but it’s just something that makes me happy to have seen them so happy back then..

In my many years of playing this game, I even managed to get it with Baby Luigi and Dixie Kong and Paragoomba once or twice, but never Waluigi. His hits are so weak they rarely ever even make it out of the infield even fully charged, at least for me. Even in practice mode it took me a million tries to get it 😂😂😂 That is impressive!

This was actually pretty good distance for Waluigi, considering there was no chemistry on the field. Making perfect contact is vital for the really weak characters. You gotta get that sweet spot of the bat on the ball. Chemistry also makes a really big difference. Find out who the batter has chemistry with and get those characters on base ahead of time. I actually recently played and managed to hit a homerun with Waluigi (even twice, one time in Bowser's Castle no less - and almost got a third one also in Bowser's Castle but it was barely foul sadly). I think the key is to swing late with Waluigi so as to hit to left field (since his opposite field hitting is stronger).
Back in 2015, I had a dream that this game was on the PS1. The graphics didn’t look like it’s on the PS1 for some reason. It still looked like a GameCube/PS2 game. This game also had some old people on it like they were Waluigi’s grandparents or something. Idk why that is. Also, the song Green Onions from the Sandlot was playing in the background.
This game looks great. I really like how with other characters it has different music a small detail but I like it. I think this game has a lot of stuff like that throughout the game. I've only played sluggers which I find to be extremely fun, but I want to play this so bad because it seems like it's not as popular because of the console it was on.
It's certainly deeper than I realized back in 2004 and in 2009. I didn't even know about 5-Star Home Runs until around 2018. There's also the special catches some of the characters can make. Pitching and hitting are fairly simple, as they should be for a Nintendo sports game. Challenge Mode is a fun, adventurous way to learn the ins and outs of the venues as well as upgrade characters. It even has mini-games and a tutorial section.
What a nice Sunday surprise! I have scored Home Runs with every character at least once. Among the hardest characters to score homers with for me include Baby Luigi, Dixie Kong, and Paragoomba. I loved seeing Paragoomba's Grand Slam. Great job! 😊

I think I'm supposed to watch the shadow instead of the banana, but who the hell knows. My favorite is Hammer Bro. He has those unique camera angles at home plate. I think it would be hilarious to see MLB players perform some of them during actual games. As a side note, I can't believe how many Mario Superstar Baseball videos I've uploaded. The only batters I feel come close to being considered "broken" are King Koopa and King Teresa. In my experiences, those two are ridiculous when it comes to home runs. @@bubufubu Oh, I meant by getting homeruns. I could remember that in mario superstar baseball and sluggers hammer bro effortlessly got home runs, while when I used other power type characters like DK, pianta, bowser, or wario, it's mostly just sending the ball in the outfield lel.
Despite being Power-type characters, Wario, Pianta, King Boo, and Boomerang Bro are some of the tougher characters for me to hit homers with. For the former two, I suppose it's due to me having awkward timing. As for the latter two, they tend to hit curve balls a lot. I imagine many other players have the same issue. 🤔
Wario isn't a problem for me and I love his bat! =) Neither is Boomerang Bro. In fact, he's one of my favorite home run hitters. He's just beastly. I've hit way too many homers with King Teresa to call it a struggle, but the swing animation does still fool me on occasion. For me, Monte's bat is similar to Kinopiko in that it's almost like an optical illusion. I struggle just to make contact with both of them. Monte's bat is a large chunk from a palm tree for goodness sake, so you'd think it would make for a very powerful & consistent bat. But not for me. =/

Watch the tutorials and train. After that, play the "Challenge" mode and earn a star for all the players you like. It's easier to get home runs when your player is starred. Getting "Perfect!" home runs requires a lot of practice, though. Just keep at it.

I've never played Sluggers. Only watched footage of it here on RUclips. Judging by animations and the ridiculous roster it has, I want no part of it. It honestly looks to be at least a few steps down from Superstar.
@@bubufubu I guess it really depends on what you grew up with. I've been wanting to play superstar baseball pretty bad, but I'll always come back to sluggers for the simple fun gameplay. Both are very similar except in batting styles.

It's easier to answer that when it's specific to home runs. For most characters, the stats don't matter and you can get on base relatively easily if your timing and reflexes are good. For home runs, my most consistent characters are King Koopa, Donkey Kong, Boomerang Bro, Hammer Bro, and King Teresa.

It's easier to answer that when it's specific to home runs. For most characters, the stats don't matter and you can get on base relatively easily if your timing and reflexes are good.
For home runs, my most consistent characters are King Koopa, Donkey Kong, Boomerang Bro, Hammer Bro, and King Teresa.
