Made in USA of USA components to exact U.S. government specifications. Manufactured by Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind. Each purchase creates jobs for people who are blind.
The silky smooth, water repellant 30 Denier Ripstop Nylon is U.S. Army Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) on the front, with Tan 499 on the back. The batting is Climashield® continuous filament, with superior warmth and loft. Stitch counts and sew patterns match the specs for NSN 8405-01-672-8526 exactly.
The U.S. government poncho liner was introduced around 1962 for use by special forces troops in Vietnam, and the general specs have remained the same: light and quick-drying batting quilted between two sheets of nylon. Today, Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind manufactures hundreds of thousands of poncho liners for the U.S. Army using proprietary, licensed Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) and Tan 499 30 Denier Ripstop Nylon fabric with DWR (water resistant) treatment. The batting is Climashield® continuous filament fiber, which gives superior loft and heat-retention compared to cut fiber batting used in other, often made-in-China knock-offs.
Designed to provide quick warmth, this liner is truly all purpose. Use as a blanket, tie to form a sleeping bag, roll for a pillow. Leverage the water-resistant treatment and 30 Denier Ripstop Nylon to use as a tent cover to block rain, trap in heat or shield from the sun. Create a bivy shelter, carry sling or privacy divider. You can spread it as ground cover to sort and clean tactical gear or camping supplies or even use it in survival situations to collect rainwater.
The premium materials make it incredibly light-weight and compressible/packable. Laid flat, the poncho liner measures 92” from point to point on the long edge, and 63” across with 9” ties.
If you loved your US Government-issued poncho liner, you’ll find this one is exactly the same lightweight, silky feel. Ships with certificate of authenticity.

I got one worth every penny. I'm in the army, and this whoobie keeps me warm while I'm stationed in Germany and whenever im in the field. Unfortunately, they don't issue them anymore, or at least I wasn't issued one. So I picked up this one. I've had one or two before this one, but this one just blows the others out of the water. It's just way better materials, and it's bigger and warmer. 10/10 would recommend if you have the money to spend on it.
