Have my originals back when I served and still use a few regularly around the house and have them packed in my car kits/go bags. Absolutely the best blanket. Keeps you warm when needed and also cool when needed as well. I think what folks don't realize is that they are not only great in the cold, but also great in the heat to easily provide shade, cover and a barrier from the sun. Wrap it up with a hank of cordage and you're ready for just about anything.

I've been looking for one of these for a long time. I kept checking everywhere, even Amazon, with no luck. I hadn't checked in a while since I hadn't found one and was getting frustrated. A lot of them would say "US-sourced materials", or "Designed and/or packaged in the US". But none of them actually said "Made In The USA". So glad you did this so I know where to get one, now. Thank you!

This is like the fourth video I've watched reviewing the Woobie. Everyone's mind is blown by the utility of it! "Look! It's got strings!" Yeah, it's great but it's just a blanket guys! Blankets are great but this is just a blanket. It's the same piece of kit that people have used for thousands of years.
Plus, it's synthetic! It melts if an ember lands on it! Wool blankets are virtually fireproof and they retain most of their insulation value if they get wet. you could fill it with down and get a higher weight to warmth ratio if you're OK sacrificing the insulation once it's wet.
Never once in 20 years of service, ground combat MOS, did I EVER hear it called a “Woobie.”
Used my Pancho liner during my time in the 82nd airborne now have a surplus Pancho liner in my bag
I bought a woobie a couple weeks ago and love it! The one I bought wasn't through Amazon, hate them, and it came with a matching compression bag. Not sure who I ordered it from.
I still have my woobie that was issued to me in 1985. I stopped using it a few years back because a friend that was still active duty sent me a new one. I have been using them as my primary ( well, sole) blanket since I got out, both at home and camping/bushcrafting. when my friend sent me the new one, I did a comparison video of the two that were over 30 years apart. Loving the woobies! I've got my original and bought another one about a year ago. Probably gonna grab another for the car.
One of the best pieces of field gear issued in the Army. It is a shame that they no longer issue the poncho as well.

If they sold them at a reasonable price it would be great. But it seems that they are almost twice the price of what they should be. Lower the price and sell more to get the same profit. Just my opinion.

They need to change the name of this thing. The name is a callback to the movie Mr Mom. It brings to mind a child's blanket that you can't rip from him or her.

Tim... you should google Pentagon Recall Woobie.
$100 is way over priced. For just a plain woobie I would pay $40. For a woobie with modifications (like a zipper or a head hole) I would pay $50. The most I ever payed for a woobie was $60, that woobie came with a zipper, head hole, compression bag, and a pillow.
Is the one with the zipper from dragoon unlimited?
What I'll never understand is how you use a woobie as a poncho liner
From other videos I have seen they were meant to be tied into the poncho to use as a bed roll/sleeping bag in Vietnam, which isn’t breathable. So we’re used on there own apparently, what I’ll never understand is how blind people in the US make these to better standard than the copy’s made in china.

Nah. It's an overrated piece of fluff gear that has nostalgic value more than anything. Might as well call it a 'coobie' because it 'could be' replaced by a veritable plethora of other gear on the market.
