Gonna be honest, the loss of being able to enter buildings is only surpassed by the horrible raids in my opinion. In swsh I initially didn't like that they introduced raids, but at least they were turn based and they eventually grew on me.
Scarvio's raids killed my enjoyment far more than anything else in gen 9 thus far, because they changed it from turn based to time based. Add onto that the enemy pokemon seems to get multiple turns before you do, the fact that occasionally glitches seem to make your inputs freeze for no reason, that offline NPCs will not attack until you do, and that later raids seem to require specific pokemon with certain stats and moves.

I can kind of understand SOME lack of level scaling but frankly having none at all holds it back from being truly open world. You're corralled in by the higher level Pokemon and trainers, so even if you go into an area despite that you can't do much while you're there.

I agree with all of your points about Gen 7 with caveats. While I agree that the best part of Gen 7 is introducing Regional Variants as a new pillar of a mechanic for the series going forward, I’d also argue for its story, lore, and characters being up there. Sure, people that don’t enjoy story in their games will dislike the abundance of cutscenes, which is fair, but as someone that does, I thoroughly enjoyed how much personality it added to the games. Alola also has some of the most dense, fleshed out lore and characters out of any of the other generations in my opinion. It’s one of the only regions whose story was so good that it’s gotten a tear out of me (Gen 9 now too). Some of the only negatives with the games is the long tutorial process on subsequent play throughs and how incomplete some of the trials felt towards the end, especially on Poni Island. Then there’s one of the single most common criticisms of the game being the best parts from both games should’ve been merged into a singular game. Leave all of the story, the same from the originals, but at in tidbits of the ultra recon squad like in USUM, keep Lusamine’s character from the originals, redeem her in the post game after her illness/coma after bejng separated from Nihilego, keep Kukui as the first champion and save serious Hau for a post game rematch/story beat, Retain all of the post game content from USUM like ultra wormholes and team rainbow rocket as well as flesh out the Ultra Megalopolis area and storyline to make it more substantial. Gen 7 is genuinely my favorite generation and it’s far from perfect without these changes, but it does get close in my opinion. It’s a great melting of both tribal and sci-fi themes.

I would say that Gen III's worst quality was the lack of Shiny hunting methods. The Gen II breeding system was discontinued, the Masuda method didn't exist yet, and there was no means of connectivity to Gen II thanks to the Pokémon data structure overhaul, so there were no ways to increase Shiny odds (save for an extremely fickle and pointless quirk with Unown and some sort of RNG exploit in Emerald).

I was bracing myself to hear you rant about the bugs/performance of SV… but then you started mentioning the lack of being able to enter certain buildings. And honestly, it really makes me think.
Despite what the internet wants you to think, bugs/performance should not be used to judge a game’s quality-the way a game was intended to be. Bugs aren’t the fault of the developers. Sure, they can be an issue and it’s important to stamp them out. But ultimately, judging games purely based on stuff the devs didn’t intend, and then tossing aside all the greatness, is a terrible way to judge. And unfortunately, so many people have treated SV like this, and it pains me.
But you talking about a quality of life feature of all things (which is still valid btw, I do also enjoy barging into stranger’s houses in these games, lmao) made me realize… these games are next to perfect. There are only a few little things that some might prefer be added or changed, like the houses thing, but ultimately the big scope of SV is so good… to the point where no one’s really complaining about any of it.
And that makes me feel a little better.

I'll never understand love for Diamond and Pearl beyond the physical/special split. There are SO many more things I hated about Pearl than the speed.
    1. The dex has major issues, even beyond the lack of fire types, to the point that it literally became a joke that you could guess at least 4 out of 6 mons on any sinnoh team.
    2. HM overload like craaaazy, you could have TWO pokemon on your team with absolutely NOTHING but HMs. Needing to have ONE with all HM moves is bad enough! (and remember, at this point they had THREE generations of negative feedback from players about HMs, and they STILL chose to add MORE)
    3. The route gimmicks, rather than being immersive, were just annoying slowdowns in an already slow game.
    4. Barry is one of the worst rivals ever, his 'gotta go fast' personality has less depth than Sonic the Hedgehog, he's like one big adhd joke that wasn't even funny to begin with.
    5. The lake trio is one of the worst, most forgettable, legendary trios of any gen ever. You could probably mix up their names and most pokemon fans wouldn't even notice it was wrong. And then even if they did notice it was wrong, they probably still wouldn't remember the right names for each one. IMO they are worse in design than the simi trio. Simisear at least has personality to its design, even if that personality is 'hot diarrhea'. The lake trio has no personality *at all*, nothing that makes them stand out as anything more than copy/paste blobs.
    6. MINDY.
    7. I don't even agree that it handled mythical events well because I hate mythicals being tied to events. Speaking from personal experience at the time, getting Pearl and finding out it had *multiple* cool and powerful pokemon that I could *never* get because of events that had already happened that I could literally *never have accessed in the first place* was the EXACT OPPOSITE of fun. Trade evos are only okay because if you have no one to trade with you weren't *locked out* of buying the other version. The fact the mythicals were all SO much better than the lake trio just made me hate the lake trio even more.

Paldean has the best storylines in the franchise. I love how the DLC introduces new characters and plot. Also, they conclude EVERY storyline (main storylines and DLC) with the Epilogue that introduces Pecharunt, who you saw every time you went to Peachy's in Kitakami (Pecharunt is dormant until you have the Mythical Pecha Berry).

Gen6 had so much potential in terms of story and characters, but they screwed it so hard by never really developing on it in a Z version.

And people still don't know about gen 1. The missingo glitch, actually helped by giving you multiple items. You had to have the item you would want, in a certain spot in your bag, talk to the old man. Have him not show how to catch Pokemon, fly to cinnabar, surf on the side, once missingo showed, you defeat it, and you should have 99 of whatever item. Doing that trick with master balls, would give you access to catching any pokemon.

Personally, I think the worst part about gen3 is that they were still tying types to being all physical or all special. Now granted, you could blame gens 1 and 2 for this as well, but the problem especially seems to have been exacerbated with gen3. For one thing, the Game Boy Advance is a signicantly more powerful system than its prior 8-bit counterpart, so there shouldn't have been any technical limitations any more (on top of that, judging from how transfers from gen2 were impossible at the time, they essentially remade the Pokedex from scratch, meaning it would've been the perfect opportunity to ditch the old physical/special system). Also, several Pokemon in this generation, especially, were given stats that go against their designs but work with their types, or vice versa, or they got mixed attacking stats which did them no favors in future generations (not helped by the fact that Pokemon base stats were always untouched until gen6, and even then, it's frequently just an adjustment of about 10 points or so). Overall, you get a feeling that the physical/special split really should've been implemented a generation earlier, but for whatever reason, it wasn't.
Though on the subject of gen3, one aspect I really don't see enough people talk about are the menu sprites. Seriously, coming off of the first two generations, which used generic-looking creature sprites to vaguely represent a whole group of certain Pokemon, it was absolutely mind-blowing to see every single Pokemon was now distinctly visible in the menu. Was an absolute godsend for PC-sorting as well (made all the better by not forcing a game save every single time you switched boxes). Many of us might take this stuff for granted nowadays, but at the time, it can't be overstated how much of a massive leap in quality of life features this truly was.
And lastly, I honestly don't mind having mono-type starters. In fact, I thought that was an interesting trait that made the gen2 starter group stand out among their peers. And sure, by gen8, it was hardly doing anything new. However, I'm all for having more pure Fire-type starters, at least. Especially since, prior to Scorbunny, Typhlosion was literally the only one (meanwhile, Grass and Water had quite a few single-type starters..... in fact, it was pretty aggravating to see gen5 introduce another single-type for both of them, all the while Fire's getting its third Fighting sub-type in a row, just widening that gap even further). I do, however, agree that the starters are too humanistic...... in fact, that's been a problem with almost every starter from gen6 onwards. Your starter feels less like you're raising some sort of Pocket MONSTER, and more like you're raising a furry with an RPG job class. Doesn't completely ruin them for me, but I certainly miss the earlier style for them.

Definately agree with a lot of this, though for me my picks would be; (Bare in mind I haven't made Gen 8 or 9 so can't comment on them, and skipped Sun & Moon, so can't talk about the differences between them and the Ultra games)
Gen 1 - The best bit for me would be the non-linear design of Kanto. For me, the thrill I always chase with Pokémon Games is the feeling of, having failed to figure out the puzzles in Silph and Seafoam, taking a random trip back to Pallet Town and surfing south, only to find a whole new town that allowed me to completely bypass Seafoam. Never quite found that same feeling again!
Gen 2 - Whilst I would say, objectively, returning to Kanto is the best, I also got a thrill from seeing the updated designs of the Gen 1 'Mons, after the basic and sometimes hideous sprites from Red and Blue. For that reason, the lack of Gen 2 Pokémon in Johto never really bothered me, the worst bit for me would be that, despite how great having Kanto in the game was, it felt like both Kanto and Johto suffered as a result of trying to cram both regions onto a Game Boy Cartridge
Gen 3 - The music was easily the best. So catchy. Worst was the almost complete lack of post-game content in Ruby and Sapphire. There was literally just an uninteresting battle tower. A big step down from Gold and Silver that was thankfully fixed in Emerald with the excellent Battle Frontier.
Gen 4 - The main drawback for me was that it wasn't Gen 3! Moreso than ever, it seemed to be trying to ape it's predecessor, "Enjoyed Pokémon that control the weather? Here are Pokémon that control Time and Space!!!". It never really felt to me that Diamond and Pearl stood out for that reason.
Gen 5 - Unova, as a region, has never really done anything for me. Feels like a lot of style over substance.
Gen 6 - The Story was the worst bit. It didn't make much sense and didn't really make the most of Mega-Evolutions. The best bit was Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire 😄
Gen 7 - Loved the Island Trials as an alternative to Gyms.

    In my opinion:
    Gen 1:
Best: It introduced the franchise and I like the nostalgic feel it gives off
Worst: A lot of Pokemon had bad movesets imo, and it could be too difficult at times
    Gen 2:
Best: I really enjoyed Pokemon Crystal. Also the introduction of shiny Pokemon
Worst: To me it has the worst roster of new Pokemon. There are some great ones like the legendaries, Steelix, Scizor and the new Eeveelutions, but there were a lot of weak ones (to me it’s very telling that they would give a lot of them new evolutions or forms in future gens)
    Gen 3:
Best: I really like Hoenn as a region with its different environments and most of the Pokemon are great. Also Emerald
Worst: I’m glad I never got to experience filling the Dex in the games cuz I’ve heard it’s a long process that requires to have multiple games
    Gen 4 (My first Gen!):
Best: I really enjoyed playing Platinum and Heartgold and Soulsilver. Also, I like pretty much all of the new evolutions for old mons that were introduced
Worst: Sinnoh might be my least favorite region because outside of Mt Coronet and Spear Pillar it doesn’t have a lot of memorable locations that stand out to me. Also, DP were not very good games looking back on them (but I’m glad they’re the games that got me into the franchise)
    Gen 5:
Best: BW have one of the best stories in the series. I also like Unova as a region. And while I don’t love their story, BW2 were fun to play
Worst: I think they gave too many of the new Pokemon unfair evolution levels. Some examples I can think of are Larvesta, Rufflet, Vullaby, and especially Zweilous.
Gen 6 (Probably my favorite Gen):
Best: It gave us a lot of fun features like Megas, Fairy types, Amie and trainer customization. I also think it has the best roster of Pokemon (there aren’t any I really dislike and even a lot of their shinies are great). I also really enjoyed playing ORAS
Worst: I think the story and characters in the games are boring and forgettable (I really hope Legends ZA can do these things justice)
    Gen 7:
Best: I really like Alola as a region, along with the story, lore, characters and a lot of the new Pokemon. I also enjoyed USUM despite its story not being as great
Worst: I think SM hold your hand too much in the story, especially at the beginning. Also, USUM’s story is a downgrade compared to SM’s
    Gen 8:
Best: I like the story about the Gym Challenge. I like that it makes you feel like a rising athlete. I also enjoyed using Pokemon Camp a lot. And I really enjoyed Legends Arceus! It made the Sinnoh region and its lore more interesting to me
Worst: I didn’t care that much about the Darkest Day plot in SWSH and Rose might be one of my least favorite villains in the series. I also think Legends Arceus could’ve used more trainer battles
    Gen 9:
Best: I like the main story and how you can decide which steps to take as you go. I also really like Penny and Arven as characters. This is also another Gen in which I don’t dislike any of the new Pokemon
Worst: I was kinda disappointed that the story in the DLC went back to being linear to an extent. Also Ogerpon’s story was way more interesting and better built up than Terapagos’s. And of course, the glitches

Like all the eeveelutions could just be caught in the wild. Last stage evolutions that are usually trade/stone/held item. ALSO the dlc had great opportunity for 2 new eeveelutions given the settings and traditional setting of how eeveelutions are introduced. Crown tundra could have been a dragon type and isle of armor could have been steel type like big ball dropped there.

Now with the internet everything is much easier however I do think this is still a big issue with pokemon as a whole. I wish there was more in game explanations or hints for things. Like how could anyone ever guess to read brail for the reggies or go under a specific bridge to evolve a mon. These things fully require hints at least to solve.

My only thought is Gen 1's Worst Opinion is the default, too many battles, unfair moves and No story content. Another worst thing in my opinion is N's Room in Gen 5's sequels and postgame due to his tragic Backstory and his terrifying messed up room in his castle and every Generations' Horror and Creepiest Places due to how dark it is, listening to Unown Radio themes and Gen 9's tragic backstory of Arven's Parent(s), it's hurtful and I either got frightened or braved the horrors. My best opinions in every Generation are the evil teams like Team Rocket and the Bandit Sisters in Legends Arceus. They each have their own goals to destroy everything or do other evil or nevil stuff without cooperation except for Team Rainbow Rocket. It's my interest to disband, destroy and disrupt every Generation's Evil Teams' Goals. Another best thing in my opinion from Gen 2 to Gen 9 are the Affection gimmicks, battle encounters and types and In-game gimmicks.

oooooooh here's my own, written after only seeing your gen 1 choices. I'll finish the video after writing this. Though I'll do by region rather than generation
    Kanto
Best: It's the best first region for a newbie fr. Like it kind of encapsulates well what pokemon as a series /is/ without ever being /too much/, whether that be in the 90s with gen 1 or later on with gen 3 or even Let's Go or Infinite Fusion (the best pokemon game)
Worst: I agree that it's just kind of a dull region. While it does the things that it should as your first region, it's really only memorable /because/ it was most people's first region. But at the same time that makes replays less arduous than some of the more varied regions, which I'll talk about later.
    Johto
Best: I've always kind of liked the writing in the Johto games for whatever reason? The characters in Johto feel much more like actual characters than they did in Kanto, and you could even say moreso than some later regions too.
Worst: Honestly take your pick. There's a lot of wildly bad choices that gamefreak made with Johto, but probably the worst is the gym battles. Not only do so many gym leaders (Falkner, Bugsy, Chuck just to name three) only use KANTO pokemon rather than ones from Johto, but the levelling makes no sense. Pryce having pokemon weaker than Jasmine is wack as hell, and did Jasmine really need two Magnemite? Maybe one to show off that it had a new type, sure, but why not throw in a Skarmory, a pokemon that is so absent from its own games that a ton of people think it comes from Hoenn?
    Hoenn
Best: My favorite region, full-stop. I could pick a bunch of things to be the best thing about Hoenn but I think I'll go with the starters. This is the best starter trio in the series, no contest. Not a single bad choice among them, even the unfortunately monotyped Sceptile is still really well designed and cool. Thank odin it got a second type with its mega later on.
Worst: Idk, the classic meme is too much water but it never really bothered me much? I guess I'd say that the acquisition of the Regis is SO baroque and wild that it's a bad thing? I'd be surprised if anybody figured it out without just looking it up online.
    Sinnoh
Best: Love love love the amount of new evolutions given to old Pokemon in this. Misdreavus needed Mismagius so bad, as did a ton of other pokemon. Togekiss makes the classic baby line actually good and worth raising. Additional shoutout to gen 4 introducing physical/special split but that's generation rather than region
Worst: I don't particularly like the vibes of these games and Sinnoh itself all that much? I rarely want to revisit DPPt or BDSP, idk if it's that I don't like Barry, or the aesthetic, or the evil team, or whatever, but it all kind of culminates in me not really loving Sinnoh that much. That doesn't expand to Hisui though, speaking of which:
    Hisui
Best: A wildly good shakeup to the formula, which is great in its own ways even if I don't want it to become the default style for Pokemon games. It's a great way to experience this universe for sure
Worst: As there's only one Hisui game I can say this without needing to specify generation: THE BATTLES ARE TERRIBLE. Catching outside of combat is fantastic, but the actual turn based battles have been overhauled in a purely negative way. I KO a pokemon, the opponent sends in a new one and gets to attack before I even have a chance to switch? No abilities, no held items? This is just all-out BAD design. And I guess that's not Hisui's fault, it's PLA's fault, but it's very VERY easily the worst part of hanging out in Hisui
    Unova
Best: What these games did for the Bug type will be something I am forever thankful for. It single-handedly took the worst type of the series and rejuvinated it with a bunch of fantastic bug type pokemon & moves, so much so that it became my favorite type.
Worst: I debated between saying the region itself (much like Sinnoh, I rarely revisit Unova because I just don't like existing and exploring within that world) as well as its extremely overhyped evil team and story. I think I'll go with the former, just because the sequels don't share the same negative as the latter as the first games did, but do share the same negative region design. I still really don't think Team Plasma was handled all that well, especially at the end of the game. It could have been an interesting philosophical debate but it turned out to be just a front for another take-over-the-world scheme? fuck off ghetsis
    Kalos
Best: At a time where I feared I'd lost my love for the series after having a (then) negative reaction to gen 5, Kalos came around and really brought me back into it by being explorable in 3D. But I think I have to say that Kalos giving us fairy type is probably the best thing about it. People love megas, and I like them too, but overall they aren't my favorite gimmick either. Fairy though was absolutely needed. Absolutely did NOT need it to resist bug type but whatever
Worst: Much like Kanto, it's just a little drab. There's some sections of interesting lore and setpieces for sure (which I fear we won't see realized in ZA since it's all in Lumiose) but for the most part the region itself isn't bad, just a little boring.
    Alola
Best: Team Skull is GOAT. I love ya boy Guzma, I love the team skull grunts, I love their songs, their vibes, I love Po Town, pretty much everything about Team Skull really does it for me.
Worst: These games take ten thousand years to get through. Not because the region necessitates it, but because you're stopped every three seconds for a ten hour cutscene. Bring me back to Alola with a Legends game and let me do stuff without being stopped, PLEASE.
    Galar
Best: Honestly, a bunch of stuff. I really find SwSh underrated as hell. But if I had to single out one thing, it'd probably be the soundtrack. Gens 5 and 8 have the best OSTs in the series bar none, and I think 8 is my favorite. That Illusory Zacian/Zamazenta theme? Who the fuck thought of combining wolf howls with slap bass, and WHY does it work SO WELL? I always jam to the gym leader music, the town music, pretty much all the music except for the wild area's bagpipes theme lol
Worst: I mean, DEXIT sucks but it was inevitable too, it was just a matter of when would it happen. So maybe not counting that, my least favorite part of Galar is Chairman Rose's nonsense plan? Like it'd at least make sense if the crisis was even just 100 years away rather than 1000. Then it'd be like "okay, dude's crazy, but at least I GET it." And then Regieleki specifically has a dex entry that invalidates Rose's concern entirely? It's like they specifically wanted a shitty villain which is a shame
    Paldea
Best: Probably the best stories of any pokemon game? Team Star's story is really sweet and fun, Arven's both in the path of legends and the way home is sad but heartwarming, and having yandere Nemona constantly around in the victory road story was always fun too. Similarly, the DLC stories were pretty fantastic too, even if I do still wish that Kieran had been influenced by Pecharunt to explain his dark turn. I also really like Tera, it's my favorite of the gimmicks ez
Worst: Not gonna count the glitchiness, though that is literally the worst part of these games, as a near universal opinion. But that's an easy answer, for a less easy answer I'll say probably how fucking annoying it is to surf with Veluza around. I just don't want to go to the lake at all, not just because the framerate drops but because I have to be constantly wary of this ridiculously fast fish despite his very slow speed stat. just straight up annoying

I guess I'll put mine for each gen?
gen 1 best: I honestly can't think of one.
gen 1 worst: They really needed to weaken psychic more, it had way too many advantages.
gen 2 best: Not so much going to Kanto but more fighting Red.
gen 2 worst: The leveling was way too grindy.
gen 3 best: Yeah the legendaries, I also liked in Emerald at least that there were two evil teams to fight.
gen 3 worst: Way too much water, if you're going to put in that much water at least make it so that there are way more Pokemon I'm running into when surfing instead of just Tentacool and Wingull.
gen 4 best: The Mythical events.
gen 4 worst: All the new TRADE evolutions.
gen 5 best: There are two, the story by far is one of the best if not the best in my opinion, and the second one is that you had to use the new Pokemon until the post game...hell most people now only play with the new Pokemon on their first playthrough anyway.
gen 5 worst: There are way too many legendaries...and some were poorly built upon like Genesect.
gen 6 best: the clothing options, I changed up my clothes in those games more than any other Pokemon title.
gen 6 worst: Story, Mega Evolution, really small Pokedex that really wasn't that filled with quality.
    gen 7 best: Regional variants.
    gen 7 worst: evolving legendaries.
gen 8 best: Legends Arceus, but if we're talking Sword and Shield the raids was a good addition.
gen 8 worst: Chairman Rose's plan was stupid as hell.
gen 9 best: Story, open world, and I feel like Terestalization is the best battle gimmick
gen 9 worst: Some towns felt way too small, and were made even smaller due to the fact you couldn't enter the buildings.

The worst thing about gen 3 - literally the entire game. Except for contests and that there were two evil teams but one of them was in your side. Those were the only positive memories I have of playing Ruby back in the days. Else the game was unenjoyable enough that it made me quit Pokemon for years. The only other Pokemon game that came close with how unenjoyable it was, was Legends Arceus.

Trevor and Tierno are the first companions who have a goal besides beating the league. They're the best rivals.
And going inside every house is weird. it's like in gen 5 when they took items out of garbages because the didn't want kids digging through trashcans.

Tbh, the lack of explorable buildings in S/V is justifiable due to how massive and poorly optimized the game was (and still is). Having more area data to load and render in a tankish game like this would've ran it into the ground if it wasn't already, as well a put a strain on the system, leading to more battery usage, slower game response/loading times and even bugs or crashes.
It may be a staple in the other games, but for S/V, it's entirely fair to not allow it. You already have 5 massive maps (school interiors and actual maps + dlc areas) with chunk-based world loading, so adding tons of smaller maps would be too much.

Imo the worst part of the gen 5 games, or at least Black and White, it literally locking a NON LEGENDARY, regular pokemon line that you NEED FOR THE REGIONAL DEX, behind MULTIPLE limited time events in a previous game. Not even events IN Black and White, but the games before it. It's one thing to lock mythicals behind limited time events (shitty but understandable) since they're not required for filling out the main dex, but not a REGULAR POKEMON THAT'S PART OF THE DEX.
If I have both copies of a game I should be able to get all the pokemon in the dex. I literally cannot do that with Black and White b/c Zorua and Zoroark are ONLY able to be obtained if you did a limited time event(s) in a PREVIOUS GAME (the Celebi event and the shiny Beasts events). Which means if you pick up a copy of them now, or restart your copy, you literally cannot fill out the dex through normal game play b/c you just, can't get it???
B2/W2 fixed that by giving you a Zorua. But like. Only one.
I legit thought they were legendaries for the longest time because of this.

best parts from gens i've tried
gen1: from pve persepctive, crit rate based on speed is fun, hyper beam mechanics too
    gen 2: kanto section
    gen 3: abilities
gen 4: physical special split (and following pokemon in hgss)
gen5: reusable tms, much more new defining moves added and distributed
gen6: UI and graphics in 3D
    gen7: much better opponent AI

    Inteleon line
    Theivul line
    Eternatus
    Zacian
    Zamazenta
    Spectrier
    Hatterene line
    Grapploct line

Does the 6th generation have any advantages?... I would count on the fact that it has the least number of Pokemon, it's a poor copy of Kanto, mega evolutions are broken mechanics, the characters are laughable in the room, the region design makes no sense, Lumilose is a gigantic mistake with a broken camera. ...
The 8th generation also has a lot of advantages, the new Pokemon are great, the leader gym is inventive, rivals that make sense compared to the mistake with XY... G-maxes are perfectly balanced, a lot of great things for online fights

im glad you didn't make glitches gen 1s worst thing as MOST people would play that game and be hard pressed to find distinct glitches without a knowledge on how to hack a game. SV on the other had, I played a vanilla version and it broke my game 3 times with normal use. that's terrible.

can we talk about gen 3 being one of the worst for introducing box legend exclusives!? No longer can you get every legend but instead you only get 1 and its on your game cartridge. THis becoming a main stay is a deep cut in the pokemon series as a whole. It also makes the games not make sense as they have to now take place in different universes. It is so dumb and a money grab. This is why people left by gen 4. They tried to paywall in an era that wasn't so willing to have game companies run us over the coals. We now work for them instead of them working for us...

Speaking of slow speed in Diamond & Pearl, I feel like Scarlet & Violet's battles are the slowest they've ever been since that gen.
GF needs to take a page from Atlus & Persona/SMT when it comes to battle flow & UI. Everything is so slow & boring to look at, with every single status condition, stat change, weather effect, terrain, or even "your Pokemon is feeling ___" emotion slowly being displayed 1 at a time for EACH POKEMON!

I think the best and worst thing in Gen 9 is how busted shiny hunting is. It has never been this easy. While I enjoy having shiny pokemon, the grind to get one made it so special. Now it feels much much less so. However, a shiny is a shiny so I can’t complain too much!
