All Pokemon are sadly not made equal in the looks department, and some of them are genuinely UGLY. In this video, I'll be sharing my picks for the UGLIEST Pokemon of every generation, and providing my thoughts on which Pokemon are the worst of the worst in terms of looks. This should be a fun one, so I hope you enjoy!

Three core Ugly Reasons for JYNX as Ugliest Kanto:
Unlike Venusaur, Jynx’s ugliness goes beyond its already ugly surface.
1) the design is objectively ugly. Looks like shadow blob with a wig and dress on it.
2) it objectifies women as kissing machines (humanoid category) that only wear dresses & want to kiss everything around it- which is Ugly and misogynistic.
3) third ugliest thing about JYNX pertains to its prior sprites and animation artwork showcasing ‘BlackFace’ - which is an ugly thing to do, and also an ugly chapter of human history regarding racism towards towards the BIPOC community.
Mimikyu is supposed to be scary, not ugly. Mimikyu should not be on this list

yeah, like i always read its pokedex entry as being its real looks are so terrifying that people who see them die. Something can look scary without looking ugly. A lot of scary looking things look really cool. I bet it's not ugly under there. I bet it looks super badass. But also 2 spoopy 2 handle directly seeing it.

I can't believe he doesn't consider Muk the ugliest Gen 1. Especially given all the crap he gave Rellor later in the video about being themed around feces when that's literally what Muk is made of. The anime even goes out of it's way to make that clear by having an entire colony of Grimers lead by a Muk swarm out of the sewers and wreak havoc on an entire town.

Zacian is a HORRIBLE design. They could have put hilts on it wrists, katana sheathes as back spikes, etc. but they didn't. There's only ONE thing that makes it the "sword" Pokémon and all they did was put a sword in it's mouth. It's da sword Pokémon so we put a sword in it's mouth, get it? I could have designed a better legendary with my arms tied behind by game development team.

Haven’t watched the video yet, but maybe he means whatever it looks like without the disguise, which is supposedly so horrifying as to kill anyone who sees it?
Edit: got to that point, and I was correct. His runner ups are more conventional/less controversial choices though.

The reasoning for some of these opinions is either weak or contradictory. For one thing, we can't see what Mimikyu looks like under its outfit, therefore it is not unpleasant in appearance. It like says that women who wear makeup are objectively less attractive just because they choose to present themselves in a certain way.

It says they are overwhelmed by terror and die from the shock, so it's just so dreadfully terrifying that the shock kills you it doesn't have to be ugly to do that. Also it even says that its actual appearance is unknown so why would they be saying they die because it's so ugly. Just saying.

Mimikyu doesn't give people heart attacks from looking ugly, it does that by looking SCARY. It's like the Boggart from Harry Potter. Its Moon dex entry literally says (and I quote): "A lonely Pokémon, it conceals its terrifying appearance beneath an old rag so it can get closer to people and other Pokémon." If you want to go by the quote-unquote canon side of things, you should've at least mentioned Feebas for Gen 3.

Mimikyu for sure its adorable inside the costume, rumors tend to spread very easily around the pokemon world and it is easy, especially for a ghost type, to get a bad reputation for no reason.

For the Turtle, it was specifically mentioned that the turtle has a snake as its tail for the design, which is where the snake comes from.
I totally acknowledge it wasn't designed to be good looking, rather more intimidating (though you can also argue they are doing a poor job with that pink design)

I believe in terms of designs ugly does not mean they inherently look bad or have a bad design.
Personally I think Garchomp has a very ugly face, but I still really like the design despite that and think it’s a well made creature.
Same can be said with venusaur, sure it can be seen as ugly but if it ties in with the overall look well. Then it’s fine in my book.

I agree, I myself love Venu, but it's not a beautiful Pokémon. The design is great, it definitely feels like a progression from Bulba, but it's ugly and really cool! Aromatisse is a Pokémon that people don't like it, but I don't think is ugly, it might be all over the place design wise, but it's not ugly,imo
They do make some Pokémon ugly or a bit bizarre on purpose. Can’t have them all be badass or beautiful, variety is nice.

I always hated Crabominable and Ambipom, they're the ugliest imo. Weirdly enough, they both have the same haircut.

Nah this man dissed Bruteroot 😂. The SV model is amazing and I have a shiny one. But it's his opinion but love Venusaur and it's so iconic. Mimikyu is iconically weirdly cute. I don't find Venusaur too too ugly, I definitely think Hypno's uglier than Venusaur by far! Long nose, scary eyes, creepy nature to it kinda does it for me.

Well hey, we all have ou own opinions. Nothing wrong with him thinking they are ugly, that's his take. I wouldn't call them ugly myself, some of them i don't think about much. But ones like Venasaur, Landorus/Tornadus/Thundurus & their other forms, Zacian/Zamazenta & the like do like those ones.
But yes, we all have what we like & don't as mentioned, so can be good to see other's opinions. Though i wouldn't call any pokemon "ugly", i just don't think of various ones that much, is the extent of it really.

Sinnoh: Ambipom? 100% agreed.
Unova: Gurdurr is valid, in my opinion, but please, leave poor green bird-like geezer (Therian) Tornadus alone. Eelektross is way uglier.
Kalos: Aromatisse? 100% agreed. Even though I kind of like Barbaracle's design, I think any trace of disgust for it is totally valid.
Alola: Lore-wise, Mimikyu is the ugliest, so it's totally valid, in my opinion. Design-wise, Crabominable looks pleasing to me (because of the "abominable" part of it) and Bruxish takes the cake.
Galar: "Veins"!? C'mon, man, it's just decoration! But yeah, as much as I like the "Chinese Auspicious Beasts" shtick, Enamorus is ugly as heck. In both forms.
Paldea: Munkidori looks like an old Japanese drawing in my opinion, so I don't have a problem with it. Plus, I think Shroodle ties with Rellor.

My picks would be: Gen 1: Mr. Mime (no explanation nessesary I think) , Gen 2 Croconaw (Why those Cavemen Elements) , Gen 3 Hariyama (and I really love its pre Evolution 😅), Gen 4 Lickylicky (why, just why) Gen 5 : Seismitoad (the wart Design freaks me out), Gen 6: Diggersby (what happened to the cute little bunny), Gen 7 Bruxish (sorry not sorry) Gen 8 Eiscue (just disturbs me with its tiny true head) Gen 9 Shroodle (what is this thing)

Ambipom is cute, like it's super weird but it's "ugliness" is what makes it so appealing to me.

Bulbapedia listed 4 possible design concepts for Jynx:
- Hel, viking goddess of the underworld
- Ganguro. A japanese women beauty trend where they get slightly tan and wear bright make-ups and clothing. (Tho, personally I think its gyaru, yet another similar beauty trend from Japan)
- Female opera singer
- Yuki-onna or Yamanba (this one is the least likely)
Gamefreak back in the day definitely does not think like the west with the design

I like most of your videos a lot, the only complaint I ever had is some clickbaity titles from a few months ago ("this or that revealed for za" or smtng) but I still like the videos but this one is a very bad idea, it invites genwars and doesnt add much other than a needless ranking, Id rather you stick to trivia or lore videos like that previous 25 secrets you posted last week, those are good, informative and productive (they bring unknown trivia etc), or the fakemon videos etc, this one really aint it.
Shroodle doesn't have buck teeth, I'm 99% sure thats its tongue, it even wiggles like a tongue

I just realized that Barbaracle looks like Seven-Armed Fiend from YuGiOh, with 7 limbs and the face looking like a hand (admittedly SAF has more limbs total with legs and wings, but still, the number 7 comes up and its face is a hand).
This is the kind of video I love. Just a fun, silly ranking of pokémon based on an arbitrary thing.

1) a lot of assumptions and self canon had to be made to say mimikyu is ugly because nowhere does it say it is ugly
2) I find it weird that the Pokédex specifies a scholar saw it, it might not be physical ugliness but like a bad grade or something that made the scholar die
3) it can be a curse or something that makes a person die not its appearance
4) didnt watch the anime but I believe meowth saw it and didn’t die, meowth just got scared
5) “overwhelmed by terror” could be a multitude of things, it could be a play on “killer looks” which on the contrary means the Pokémon is that good looking it killed the scholar

The Forces of Nature's Therian forms are supposed to be based on the Four Celestial Beasts from Chinese/Japanese Mythology, which actually makes them a lot cooler in my opinion.
Selecting before watching:
Gen1 -> Seaking
Gen2 -> Snubbull
Gen3 -> Whismur
Gen4 -> Mothim
Gen5 -> Alomolola (not even that bad tbh)
Gen6 -> Aromatisse (this thing is easily my least fav Pokemon, Idk it disgusts me)
Gen7 -> Bruxish (no surprise ig)
Gen8 -> Indeedee (also not that bad, same to Snubbull btw)
Gen9 -> Flittle
Overall -> Armoatisse, this thing still disgusts me...
My biggest question about Tornadus is this. Why is this personification of a force of nature, (A tornado if names are to be believed.) Why is it green and purple? Why is the first pure flying type pokemon this weird mix of colors you would expect on a grass and poison type. use that light blue that is used when depicting the flying type and maybe steel gray for the purple marking instead. Sure thurnderous is already blue, but why not make Thunderous more yellow like the force of nature its emulating, lightning, or the electric type. The only pokemon of this group, and I can't believe I am going to compliment Enamerous in any form, but both Enamerous and Landerous at least share a color with the type, or force i guess they are supposed to represent.
It's because of their inspirations: the Shinto gods Fujin and Raijin. Look up any picture of Fujin and Raijin and you will instantly see why Tornadus and Thunderus look the way they do.😢

If you want to bring that thinking into every pokemon design (At least those based on myth.) then shouldn't Shiftry, who is based on a Tengu have more red in its color scheme. They clearly went with displaying the grass typing with the color scheme rather than the insperation. To be fair, shirfty's shiny looks more like a tengu though LOL.
I used to hate Gurdur, until I realized its face resembles Buggy the Clown.
Mimikyu looks scary, rather than ugly.
Gurrdurr is one of my sister's favourites, which makes it automatically a top tier Pokémon in all categories.
Golbat’s sprite still haunts me from gen 1, easily the ugliest Pokémon/sprite of all time for me lol
