What’s your preferred way to get football games?
None. I'm a guy, but I have little to no interest in football. I would only watch if it is free on OTA TV, but that's just me.

@@louisd95714 why are you here then! smh

I hope both services hear how overly complex they made it to understand what you are getting.
Streaming as a whole is getting so complex that it's making me want to go back to cable.
NFL Sunday Ticket isn't complex. You only get one thing and nothing else.
Yes, streaming does require you to know what you want and stay on top of costs. But, at least you have the freedom to come and go as you wish and can cancel when you want.
This was a very well put together review and helped me make my decision to this confusing dilemma. Thank you so much! I appreciate your time and effort
Why not tell us who you chose
I don't want to commit my Sun(days) to being inside so I'm going with NFL+Premium to watch replays whenever I want. Thanks for this
That's a big selling point for NFL+, in our opinion. You get enough without having to feel like you have to commit an entire day.
I have been a sunday ticket subscriber since its inception. Always recording the dolphin games on sunday while I was at church, the DVR was a great tool. Since I rarely get to watch them live as I live on the west coast and they kickoff at 10:00 I will be going with NFL premium this year, saving many dollars. I can wait until games are over to watch. No big deal.
Mid game highlights and scoreboards are the only problem
Finz Up!
Nice run down of the features. Thanks.
Great information and presentation!
I don’t know which plan I’m going to pick, but your review was great
And so. Far I enjoy you guys content
I’m glad you mention that Sunday Ticket does not include broadcast games from CBS, NBC and others. Too bad that NFL Plus will only allow live games on mobile but not on Tv streaming devices 🏈
Yep, many people think it gets you all games. We'd like to see them allow live games on TVs as well, but imagine that's part of their strategy to not take away subscribers from ST.
@@FrugalRulesbut I'm watching all preseason games live on tv PS4 browser and Roku NFL + app tv
Can I watch NFL PLUS on my Macbook laptop? @@FrugalRules
I do believe that RUclips tv comes with prime time games just not Thursday night football
@@christianalbarran6544 Yep, that's correct. TNF is only available via Prime Video.
Good video. Saved me a lot of money.
This was helpful. Considering NFL plus for redzone mostly.
That was a nice value add for the price hike, in our opinion.
I subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket and I’ve live service YTTV I’m so excited since DTV I used to watch on, sent we cut the cord
GO K-STATE!!! Class of 2000. I loved Sunday Ticket on Direct TV. I still have Direct TV and do not plan to change. But that Sunday Ticket price is steep. My Team is Dallas, and they are on enough in prime time. I am considering going to a sports bar rather than pay the premium fee. Still deciding because I can get beer or other food and beverages cheaper at home over the course of the season. Anyway, great content and EMAW!!!!!!
'97 grad here!! It is a steep cost, but thankfully the Cowboys are on enough that you can still catch a fair number of their games.
Excellent review. I've commented on this plenty, so I'll wrap my opinions up here. I found myself chuckling as I heard you mention the hundreds of dollars people must pay for ST -- at a discount. Again, $10 replays > $300 live games. Always.
Yep, we were wrong initially on NFL+. It's very good for what it is, especially if you don't NEED a live game on a TV. We do wish there were some changes to it, but they definitely don't want to pull away subscribers from ST. Sunday Ticket is good for what it is, just know that you're going to pay for what that is & that it's not going to get you every game.
@@FrugalRules I wouldn't say "wrong." You're entitled to your opinion. If it impresses you more now, great. I see the appeal of ST, but it's not worth it IMO. Four months of NFL+ is. Also, NFL+ has a lot of extras besides replays.
95% of fans wanna watch their game live
@@methus57 Sure, you can argue many people want to watch games live. However, how many are actually able to do that? Meaning, how many are busy at the time it airs, not available to watch it at the time it airs, etc.? The point is that it's good to have options, even affordable ones.
@@methus57 I'm sure that a majority want to, but I doubt that 95% are willing to pay $300 to $400. If some are, that's their decision, but not one I'd ever make.
What do I do about Sunday night and Monday night games? If I have Direct TV will I get them there?
Okay i live in chicago and all i care about is to watch the chicago bears play all games. What is the best option for me??
So I have NFL+ and I use my parents Direct TV Stream for more games… lol I think that’s fine and I pay WAY less than that Sunday ticket
I can watch a lot of games on TV and when I can’t, I have the 15 pro max so I don’t mind watching it there - it’s nice too bc if I’m on the go, I can still watch or listen to
Wichita native here. Great shirt, John!
NFL + work for me it’s affordable I watch it on my tablet live. Or wait until after the game is over and watch it on my tv. Review was helpful
With NFL+ Premium you can screen cast. I have done it for all the preseason games so far. Planning on using it for Sunday football in the living room and the garage TV with be on regular antenna.
You can't screen cast. You have to mirror your phone screen to your TV.
@@paulmcgarry4466 bingo yup gotcha yeah them I’m mirroring not casting my bad.
Can someone provide some video proof on this specific thing? I’m leaning towards NFL+ Premium but if I cannot screencast or Apple AirPlay to any of my TVs, that is a serious dealbreaker for me. Thanks in advance.
@@MacaroniTony5 You can mirror anything from your phone to an Apple TV. Dont worry about air play
I'll be mobile in Europe until Oct-something. I will be 6hrs ahead of East Coast time. I do not have to watch the game live. I Plan on using WiFi on my iPad Pro. I want to watch every Vikings game regardless of where they are playing or what day/night. IOW I do not want to miss any of their games. I am willing to buy multiple products to make this happen. Your thoughts? Thanks for your help !
I’ll suffer through the buffering and stream it for free
Nfl+ can be seen on laptops too. Once you log in via your laptop, connect your tv via hdmi and you're good.
I was thinking the same thing lol
@@josephroccosalvo9202 for $80, I get to watch every out of market game. I'll have to wait the next day, but watching every game until Monday night football comes on is sweet!
I’ll stick with NFL+. A big reason why I subscribed to NFL+ was so I could watch all Raiders games. I don’t think it’s the end of the world if I have to settle for watching their games on demand rather than live in the event that a Raiders game isn’t airing in my local area.
That's definitely the cost-effective way to do it. If not seeing it live doesn't matter to you, it's an economical way to get what you want.
Plus u can see all the touchdowns live
At about the 4:00 mark, you say you can RECORD games w/ Sunday Ticket. Do you have to have a separate program, such as RUclips TV or Tivo, in order to record, or can you record in the app?
Asking b/c I would love to have ALL games, but I do often need to start late. BUT! I would, ideally, like to start while game is still going and catch up vs having to wait til the game is fully over.
Nope, you can record within the platform itself.
Ok is there one general place where I can watch alll replays no matter the original streaming service?
No, not really. The NFL Network will, on occasion, replay games, but it's by no means all of them. NFL+ is the best way to get replays.
How do I watch Sunday & Monday night games. Does Direct TV offer these games.
Mannnn they make this stuff too confusing.
You guys did your best trying to make all this make sense.
So i keep hearing "out of market" games. I'm from the bay area. If i go to New Jersey. Am I still be able to watch the niner game on sunday ticket when i'm out of town??
Yep, you can get any out of market games. So, in your example you'd be able to watch the 49ers, assuming that since you're from the Bay Area. :)
Nfl ticket too high I’ll pass
I know... $50 a ticket just to see Seahawks game from 300 level--for PRE-season at that.
If they had the option to see only your team it would be cheaper and they don't want that plus
Sunday + sounds better to me
I have nfl Sunday ticket and am happy with it. Going to drop RUclips tv after the season.
so if I'm in Los Angeles and want to watch a Green Bay Packers game, I can get NFL plus and watch pretty quickly after the live airing ends?
That's correct. Games are typically available within minutes after they complete.
I don't have cable, am I able to watch live nfl games with the nfl+ or premium? Or am I sol 🤔
On phones and devices, yes.
All out of market pre season games can be streamed on TV. Unfortanetly nfl plus upped there price to 6.99 .they do have a constant live stream of the nfl network now wich is nice. Thats all they added for thr the price hike.
With the Sunday ticket we cant watch morning out of market games!?
Had a question…we got Sunday ticket recently and then realized Sunday that we can’t record the game as we don’t have RUclips tv. We are looking at getting nfl+premium now so we can watch the full game after the fact. However, am not able to find this info online regarding if all of the full games will be available after airing? For example, we live in California but I’m an Eagles fan, if we get the nfl+premium will they have the full Eagles games after airing available to watch for us? I wasn’t able to figure that out, it seems that it is just for local to your area?
It actually is possible to record ST games if you only got the standalone option. They didn't make it very clear, but you can log into the YT TV app with your ST credentials. When you do that you'll see your Sunday Ticket within the YT TV app. Just select the game you want and click to add it to your library. It will then ask if you want just that game, or all games.
To answer your other question, yes, you could get them via the premium NFL+ tier. They're typically available a few minutes after a game is over.
@@FrugalRulesthanks for the help and info-appreciate it!!
@@SarahFujimoto Any time!
Yes after any live game is done airing. 5-10 minutes after the game has ended you will be able to go watch that game in full on nfl+ premium
So NFL + let's my watch the Bears games after their air? I live in Texas so it's difficult to watch the games here.
WITH NFL SUNDAY TICKET NOW ON RUclips TV AND RUclips I CAN FINALLY WATCH THE ENTIRE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS SEASON!!! I ALREADY SUBSCRIBED TO THE YEARLY NFL SUNDAY TICKET ON RUclips TV!!
Both for me. I need every game, and I need All-22 film after. No I'm not joking. But we all have our own needs, so I get why many aren't interested in either.
Hey, no judgment here. You gotta go with what you want. 🙂
@@FrugalRules Love your channel btw. Not just the content, which is great. But as a family man myself I really enjoy the two of you together. Positive displays of love and relationships are awesome.

$400 is very affordable 🤬that’s insane
EMAW!!!
can you watch nfl+ games on a laptop?
So glad I passed on RUclipsTv’s Sunday ticket offer (not worth the value). Alternatively, one can view full game recaps from around the league every Sunday for FREE😢 on RUclips. Lol
I just want to watch all the Bengals games. What do you prefer?
I got sunday ticket and i’m thinking about gettin nfl plus. it’s a good deal and i work so i want to be able to watch my games on my phone.
You can watch games on your phone with Sunday ticket without having to get nfl+
Just a heads up - This video doesn't break down any of the new NFL+Premium features or answers the question if you can stream with a TV in real time.
That's why we said "at time of recording" before we mentioned pricing & such. This video came out before the upgrades/price hikes were announced. 🙂
@@FrugalRules I was just trying to help other people who were also looking for clarity on that information. Great video, keep up the good work.
This is so confusing for me? I just want to watch my Steelers play live every Sunday on my TV. What package do I need? I do understand about No SNF, MNF, or Thursday games im ok with that.
Are you in the Pittsburgh market? If so, an antenna or live TV service with your local channels is fine. If not, NFL Sunday Ticket is your best bet to get all Sunday afternoon games on your TV.
@FrugalRules I don't live in Pittsburgh. I just want to watch the games live on my TV. Which plan do I get?
@@BDevi0us Got ya. You'll want Sunday Ticket then.
Can you air play or smart cast with nfl + plz I need to know
No, the app doesn't support either unfortunately.
What is the difference between RUclips TV Sports Plus and Sunday Ticket? Should I have both? I am confused about which one is best for out of market games.
The Sports add-on only gets you ~ 10 extra sports channels, with the main one being RedZone. That's different than Sunday Ticket that gets you all out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. If the latter is important to you, Sunday Ticket is what you want.
I just found out NFL Sunday Ticket has Student Plan that just rolled a few days ago. No RUclips TV subscription required. $119 with Red Zone. $10 less no Red Zone.
I think this means I am not going to watch, too complicated, too costly.
I get cbs nbc and abc my browns only play on fox a few time I’m thinking bout drop RUclips tv and nfl plus just watching the fox games on my phone
Sunday ticket is now $244 with red zone.
ST would cost me $400 since I'm doing everything possible not to give RUclips more $ so not subscribing again there. As an abused Bears fan I see their schedule would have at most 13 games on Sunday afternoons (Sunday night not on there, right?). Despite sucking they still get prime times ;-) So that's about $31 a game! Yikes! I'll get some on local stations but where I live in S IL that's not a guarantee and my antenna only gets ABC consistently. LOL. I have the CBS APP already and ESPN+ (comes w my phone plan), but are you saying that I can watch live local NFL broadcasts and all night games using NFL+? I could have a good time at our local bars for $31 a Sunday afternoon and keep that money local if needed. :-)
How do I watch Monday, Thursday and Sunday games for any team, anywhere in the U.S.? Or is this not possible.
No, it's not possible with one service - especially if you want them all live. MNF is on ESPN, TNF is on Prime Video, and SNF is on NBC/Peacock. The only way to get them all, is via NFL+, but that has the caveats we mentioned in the video. 🙂
simple for me an antenna
Cool review but dam what happened to just regular TV😂
Greed
NFL plus hand down. Especially now that they have NFL red zone. It’s only 79.99.
Clear as mud to a guy who just wants to watch all the games of my local team without cable tv
No NFL Sunday Ticket for Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. RUclips TV don't cover the Caribbean territories.
I live in Southern California. I will get my Dallas Cowboys at least 8 weeks. 😂 no need to buy any of these prescriptions.
Wonder why they dont just make a separate for nfl plus cause that nfl not too stable
What's not too stable?
The nfl app
Kodi
RUclips came in clutch last season and then they killed the consumer this season running our pockets. I shouldn’t pay stadium prices at home just to watch football. As an Eagles fan living in the mid west this hurts.
What is Google smoking with those prices?
Not worth watch local tv channels and mostly big college football start 9 am to 11 pm I am pacific time love college football over nfl
Anyone hear of Nufu?
I’ll save $320 and just watch 3 hours later
With them just adding RedZone for the premium tier, there is definitely some value in going that route.
That is way too expensive.
When did NFL+ stop airing live games, I know last season you could watch them live
You will still be able to, but it's still only primetime games (and maybe? the games airing on your local station)
mine shows 15 dollars a month not 10, why?
They announced the upgrade after our recording, which comes with a $5 price hike. The value add is offering NFL RedZone to premium tier subscribers.
No thanks to both,I'll just watch whatever my local channels show with our antenna.
I really feel like neither are worth it
How can they justify paying over $300 for games on one day of the week?🤷🏾♂️
We get it. It's not cheap. However, if you're out of market for your favorite team and you want all of their Sunday afternoon games it could be cheaper than going to a sports bar if you were to average it out. It all depends on your priorities and what you want, in our opinion.
@@FrugalRules ST would cost me $400 since I'm doing everything possible not to give RUclips more $ so not subscribing again there. I have the CBS APP already and ESPN+ (comes w my phone plan), but are you saying that I can watch live local NFL broadcasts and all night games using NFL+?
@@jackyoung55 That is correct, ST is only Sunday afternoon games and nothing beyond that. Regarding NFL+, you're correct BUT there are a couple of catches. You can watch live local broadcasts only on a mobile device/tablet. All games are available via TV, a few minutes after they air - IF you get the premium version. It also gets you primetime regular and postseason games - with the same caveats on live viewing. That's in addition to all of the other benefits. They do offer a seven-day free trial, so it's worth checking out with that if you think it might be for you.
@@jackyoung55 Editing to add that NFL+ just announced a price increase to $6.99 a month, or $14.99 a month for the premium tier. The premium tier now also includes access to NFL RedZone.
I have 0 problem paying. I live in Florida. And id happily pay 500+ to watch all my packers games
There’s no comparison between the two. There to different products for two different purposes.
That's exactly what we said in the video, that they're for two different types of fans. However, if there's no comparison it doesn't explain why we're getting a ton of questions of people trying to decide between the two. :)
@@FrugalRules Your title is "NFL+ vs. Sunday Ticket" but the video doesn't get it right. I've purchased NFL+ since it was NFL Rewind. I streamed Live NFL Preseason Games on my Smart TV this season. This was the first season this was available, but this is what was available and will be moving forward. I live in Maryland and wanted to watch my Cowboys in Live Preseason. NFL+ only costs $10 for the year. It will cost a little more this season because they've wrapped in NFL Fantasy Football. But it is not an alternative to NFL Sunday Ticket. I also have NFL Sunday Ticket Standalone. Which is more like the old Sunday Ticket in what you can or cannot watch.
@@dfelton316 Rewind came ~ 15 before NFL+. We're not speaking to what may or may not have grandfathered in from that previous platform. However, NFL+ states directly on their support page that you can't cast live games to a TV and, furthermore, live games are only available via a phone, tablet, or device. As to whether or not it's an alternative to Sunday Ticket is up for debate. We've received tons of questions from viewers and readers asking us to compare them because they're trying to decide between the two. By definition, it's an alternative because it's another way to get something you want - which we say at the beginning of the video, as well as the at the end of it.
@@FrugalRules Now, one thing I did leave out is I have NFL+ Premium. Which is going to cost somewhere around $20 this season.
Both seem like a rip off. I want to watch any game I want to. Spend that kind of money, you shouldn't be limited on what you can watch and what you can watch it on
Are you both reading off a Q card you both made..
If you think you can do it better, then go for it. 🤷♂
No casting from devices is bull 💩
Stipulations everywhere! No wonder why millions pirate their streams...I'm not paying for just afternoon games.
NFL Sunday ticket is the worst purchase of my life. All the games of my team I can watch on the app, so I am paying to watch games I don’t care about. I tried cancelling and there is no refund. And i can even access it anymore because I didn’t want to have RUclips tv because I only wanted it for Sunday ticket. This is by far the worst purchase I may have ever made.
